Site C - after Mount Sibo erupts on Isla Nublar in 2016, Simon Masrani evacuates the nublar dinosaurs to a secret sanctuary island. Only know as Site C, only Masrani and a few rangers know where the island is as most of the dinosaurs where shipped using helicopter and drone controlled cargo ships. New dinosaurs were also bred to balance out certain populations, such as the raptors and hadrosaurs. It was determined not to move the Nublar dinosaurs to Isla Sorna, the Sorna dinosaurs considered too dangerous to the ‘tamed’ Nublar dinosaurs.
A massive genetics and embryonic lab, paired with paleobotany labs with lab tours and educational lectures for students and families from around the world. The Nublar campus has all the facilities of the visitor centre but with support from the world community, the building itself was constructed in 1998 but the organisation itself was founded a year earlier. From 1998 to 2012, it also served as the offices of Doctor Marsh before being taken over by Doctor Seeker in 2013.
Hello, this is probably the only break in this blog but I had planned to release posts for Jurassic Park Australia and Kenya, then JWE3 was announced. So I am currently updating (i.e playing JWE3) the parks with the new building mechanics. So Jurassic Park Australia will arrive soon!
Dinosaur trading cards, produced for the Jurassic Park's (Isla Nublar) 30th anniversary
These cards used pictures voted for, by park visitors from all the parks across world, for limited edition trading cards celebrating the 30th anniversary of the original park in 1994 (released 2024).
*Cards 10 & 11 (Brachiosaurus & archelon) was a misprint but was discovered too late into production.
CRETACEOUS CATCHUP: DR LOOMIS JOINS JURASSIC PARK (JUNE 13TH 2023)

DR HENRY LOOMIS TO BECOME HEAD OF PALAEONTOLOGY
After Dr Alan Grant announced his retirement from Isla Nublar in December of last year, Many rumours about who would replace him ran wild. Who could possibly replace not only the best palaeontologist of the 20th century but has been the sole head of Jurassic parks palaeontology department since 2003.
Many names had been thrown in such as Jack Horner or Dr Grant Seeker, but to the surprise of many, Californian born Doctor Henry Loomis was chosen to be the successor to Dr Grant. A surprise given Dr Loomis was not an Ingen or Park employee (CONT PG21)
Dr Loomis himself was surprised it seemed, who was on a dig site in Texas at the time of the announcement, When ask for his thoughts when he heard the news for the first time:
“I was shocked when I found out, to be head of Jurassic Parks Palaeontology department means running around comparing fossils to the live subjects, seeing and understanding more about our prehistoric neighbours. It’s time consuming and I like to learn about dinosaurs the old-fashioned way in the ground with a pick and toothbrush. Though I was not ready for the role, my goal is to make dinosaurs fun for kids as they are to me. Both the fossils in the ground and the animals in the park.” – Doctor Loomis, June 10th 2023.
Doctor Loomis specialises in palaeontology for his undergraduate and post-doctoral research, under Dr Grant himself. So, though it is a surprise that he was picked, it's good to know that the future of Jurassic Parks palaeontology projects rest’s well in someone who was trained by the founder of said department.
*Non-Site B Tyrannosaurs have not been added to the identification chart due to being well documented in their parks.
**Some of the T-rex's have had artists renders either due to their deaths before the 2001 inquiry or speculative to see what they would look like as an adult.
Aerial photo of the worker village, the geo-thermal power plants still apparently active. Infrastructure appears to be heavily damaged and some buildings appear to have ongoing fires, likely from loose electronics or from gas mains that have ruptured.
The lagoon which was completed mere days before hurricane Clarissa, surprisingly still intact. The fish population in the lagoon still active.
The hatchery administration where dinosaurs were bred. massive structural damage from constant hurricanes and its perimeter and interior fences have breached from the inside.
A closer look, showing a spinosaurus. a concern given that it was not part of the original list of dinosaurs cloned by Site B staff from 1982 to 1995. Requires further investigation.
Pictures of the interior (top) and perimeter (bottom) fences haven been ripped through. Damage shows claw and teeth marks, the interior fence also shows additional damage along the whole length. Something tried to break through and get into the facilities past the fence.

1982-1987- InGen (International Genetics) started construction of facilities on Isla Sorna, During this time Dr Henry Wu was promoted to chief Geneticist while Dr Laura Sorkin was relegated to Isla Sorna environmental genetics. Trying to adapt the environment of the Island to the incoming dinosaurs.
In 84', The Albertosaurus was born and is the first dinosaur brought back to life. Though it lived for only five minutes, it proved that Dr Wu's method was viable. The dinosaur was called Alby.
Throughout the decade, plans for a park in San Diego are developed and begin construction but after many safety concerns, John Hammond leases Isla Nublar from the Costa Rican government to build Jurassic Park. The San Diego facilities are finished but put on hold.
The Microceratus genome is 76% completed, Dr Charlotte Lockwood is instrumental in the dinosaur hatching and surviving. Dr Wu and Sorkin begin improving on the Dr Lockwoods methods.
The Bribri Tribe are removed from Isla Nublar by the Costa Rican government and moved to the mainland in the ghettos; in a capacity that is unknown. In 1987, the last descendant of the tribe was resettled off the island
Dr Wu and Dr Lockwood begin putting a list together for potential attractions at the park. Velociraptor, Tyrannosaurus-rex and Parasaurolophus are ordered by John Hammond Immediately.
1988- Jurassic park started construction, Brachiosaurus, Dilophosaurus and Galliminus are chosen next to be bred for the park.
The Tyrannosaur 'Rexy' and the first pack of Velociraptors are born. Later that year multiple dinosaur species were released onto Isla Sorna, to study natural behaviour of the dinosaur.
1990- The first of the mature dinosaurs are moved from Isla Sorna to the completed sections of Jurassic Park. Dr Gerry Harding, Robert Muldoon and Ray Arnold are hired to run the park.
Later, computer programmer Lucy Ramirez is hired by InGen to run and code for the park.
1991- The Lysine contingency is engineered into the dinosaurs as well as introducing DNA from the Common reed frog to improve their health and prevent dinosaurs from getting off the island not only through population control but keeping them dietary locked to the island.
1994- Jurassic Park opens, only 2000 guests visit in its first year. Phase two of the park introduces Baryonx, Segiasaurus, Metriacanthrosaurus, Proceratosaurus and Pterosaurs to the park.
A pack of Herrerasaurus is bred on Isla Nublar, they are temporarily moved into the velociraptor paddock while security measures for the Velociraptors are reconsidered.
1993 - After some safety concerns, Jurassic Park is visited by Doctors Ellie Satler, Allan Grant and Ian Malcolm. After a three day visit, they give a glowing review of the park.
1995- Hurricane Clarissa damages or destroys facilities on Isla Sorna, InGen personnel release the dinosaurs into the wild. The island turns from a research base to a wildlife sanctuary.
All InGen personnel are evacuated before the hurricane hits, miraculously, all of the staff members are safely evacuated.
InGen proposes rebuilding the lost facilities somewhere more secure, plans for the Jurassic Park Institute begin.
1997- Jurassic Park Institute was founded, in order to advance genetic and embryonic technologies for the park. Initial locations for the institute initially include France, Canada and Japan.
In the meantime, Corsica is chosen as a temporary base for the Institute. The French government leases the land for five years. Later that year, the first marine reptile was born. ‘Mira’ the mosasaur and ‘Camille’ the ichthyosaur are released into the closed lagoon.
Isla Sonra during this time is also quarantined by the Costa Rican government, to prevent poachers and 'eco-tourists' from getting on the island.
1998- InGen founder and Jurassic Park founder John Hammond dies peacefully in his sleep. Simon Masrani, is named his successor despite being in charge of rival company Masrani Global.
Masrani assumed the CEO role of InGen in march of that year. He proposes to the German government about opening a park, the first park outside of Isla Nublar. The government agrees and begins
1999- Jurassic Park Germany is built, opening in April. Though its lagoon and Aviary are incomplete, guests arrive to enjoy the dinosaurs there. Therizinosaurus, Qianzhousaurus and Styracosaurus are the first dinosaurs bred at the park.
Jurassic Park Kenya is also in construction around this time but labour arguments and ethical concerns delay the park opening.
2000- In April, Jurassic Park France opens in corsica. JPI Is relocated to Australia temporarily while they look for a more secure location.
The T-rex 'Amara' is born in Jurassic Park France, initially supposed to be bred in Jurassic Park Kenya for that park but ongoing labour dispute mean that the genetic compound in Kenya is incomplete. 'Amara' is bred to maturity before being moved to Kenya in 2001.
The Bribri tribe moved back to Isla Nublar under order of Simon Masrani. A section of the island is given to them and the Costa Rican ghettos are demolished.
2001- Due to international events, all air travel is stopped to and from Isla Nublar. Park guests and staff are moved out via ships to Costa Rica, Masrani considers transforming the East Dock for tourist use.
Isla Sorna is trespassed on by Dr Alan Grant along with his student Billy Brennan, along with Paul Kirby, Amanda Kirby and mercenaries after the Kirby's son, Eric is stranded on the island.
After they are rescued, InGen inquires to the Costa Rican government about restarting operations on Isla Sorna. After three weeks of negotiations, operations are allowed to resume on the island.
Jurassic Park Japan begins construction near Mount Fuji, in one of the many enclosed valleys near the mountain. This is done in order to minimise the dinosaurs escaping into the wider ecosystem and to allow the herbivores to roam free without fences. Carnivores however have fenced paddocks as the risks are deemed too high.
2002- Isla Sorna officially restarts genetic and embryonic operations on the island but instead of transporting dinosaurs to Isla Nublar, all dinosaurs are to be left on the island in the wild for research into behaviour and environmental dimorphism.
Jurassic Park Kenya paddocks are completed but ongoing issues mean that only the guest accommodation and shopping district are slated to be completed. The genetic compound is abandoned and deconstructed.
2003- Jurassic Park Japan opens, with the JPI being relocated to Osaka and it is determined that Japan will be its final location. The Japanese government agreed to expand the pre-existing lab in Osaka to fit JPI needs.
The park and JPI have a close relationship, with the institute providing embryonic research. JPI completed the Giganotosaurus and Fukuisaurus genomes later that year. The Giganotosaurus is chosen to be bred however to be bred by order of Simon Masrani.
Later that year, The T-rex's 'Summer' and 'Winter' are born as a breeding pair in Jurassic Park Japan. Due to a kink in the embryonic process, Summer has orange skin with red markings with winter having Tan skin with blue markings. Dr Wu orders an investigation into this.
2005- Jurassic Park Kenya finally opens, however the twelve species slated is reduced to eight due to funding concerns. Simon Masrani oversees the park in its first year of operation.
A group of animal activists formed to create the 'Dinosaur Protection Group' or DPG, this is after a legal ruling that extinct animals did not have rights. They campaign for dinosaurs in Jurassic park to get the same rights and protections as other animals.
A surprising list of ally's come out to support DPG's cause, which include Dr Charlotte Lockwood, Dr Laura Sorkin, Dr Tani Takara (JPI director) and most surprising of all, Simon Masrani himself.
2006- Australia and Canada petition to have parks built there. InGen begins negotiations.
2008- Dr Charlotte Lockwood passes away leaving behind father Benjamin Lockwood and Daughter, Maisie Lockwood. Dr Sorkin replaced her as head of the Isla Sorna operations.
Facilities in Australia and Canada begin construction.
2010- Jurassic Park Australia opens, featuring a few Australian dinosaurs. Being built in the outback region, JP:A is the largest park outside of Isla Nublar. Boasting almost 20 species.
Jurassic Park Canada opens, it boasts feathered dinosaurs. A recent development with the genetics lab in Canada replacing the frog DNA with animals closer to their original genomes. Their first dinosaur is a T-rex, ‘Kalina’ is born. She has feathers stretching from her head to tail and thicker skin.
JP:C completes Deinocheirus and Yutyrannus genomes later that year, Pyroraptors begin development that same year.
2012- The decaying facilities at the abandoned Jurassic Park: San Diego are refurbished and the park is used as a training facility for park rangers, staff and inspectors. InGen also built a genetics lab there to breed ‘low risk’ animals such as Lystrosaurus, Gallimimus and several hadrosaur species for training purposes.
2013- After years of legal battles with the U.S supreme court, The DPG and Simon Masrani manage to get the dinosaurs legal rights and protections. Courts in other countries are beginning to consider doing the same.
2015- A sister training facility is built in Florida, though this one is open to the public. Officially, it becomes Jurassic Park: Florida for its swampy conditions similar to some prehistoric living conditions. Dimetrodon and Suchomimus are bred for the ‘Dangerous care’ module.
2016- Several violent earthquakes on Isla Nublar occur, park manager Claire Dearing invites the Costa Rican Institute for Volcanology (CRIV) to investigate the island dormant volcano, Mount Sibo.
The CRIV states in a report that Mount Sibo is not in fact dormant, but burning slowly from within, marking the first volcanic activity it has displayed in almost 500 years, ever since its discovery in 1525. They predict an eruption as early as 2018.
Simon Masrani, Claire Dearing and the Costa Rican government begin plans to evacuate the dinosaurs to a secondary island. ‘Site C’ is chosen two months later. InGen began deconstruction efforts on Isla Nublar by year's end.
2018- Rival genetics company Biosyn Genetics faces bankruptcy and is bought out by InGen. In a surprise turn of events, they had been running a prehistoric sanctuary based in the Dolomite mountains in Italy.
On Top of this, nine illegally cloned species are found within the Biosyn sanctuary. This includes Nasutoceratops, Camarsaurus and Dreadnoughtus. InGen considered turning the facilities into a new park, but the Italian government turned this proposal down.
Biosyn and Ingen decide to refurbish the facilities, unofficially making this Jurassic Park Italy. Lewis Dodgson, former head of Biosyn, is arrested for violating the dinosaur protection act and illegally cloning dinosaur species.Biosyn communications manager Ramasay Cole and Dr Wu take over operations.
In June, Mount Sibo erupts, but by this time the dinosaur population of the island has been moved to Site C. InGen efforts to recover and deconstruct the park before the eruption is only 68% successful. Remaining infrastructure such as the east dock could not be deconstructed due its use in the evacuation.
2019- Simon Masrani is asked about where Site C is located at an official inquiry from both InGen investors and several U.S senators. However all inquiries are unsuccessful at determining the location of Site C due to efforts from DPG and Masrani lawyers.
The activist group ‘Extinction now’ protested the decision and filed multiple freedom of information requests but to no avail.
Dr Laura Sorkin, Dr Gerry Harding, Robert Muldoon and many other original Jurassic park staff retire or leave after Mount Sibo eruption. Dr Sorkin joins DPG later in the year.
2020- The Florida training facilities transforms into a fully operational park, breeding more dinosaurs.
2022- Mount Sibo becomes dormant again, plant and marine life returns to Isla Nublar. InGen begins surveys onto the island to determine viability of returning to the island
