remember that short story they made you read in school called The Lottery where the whole town gets together and just stones a motherfucker at random what the fuck was up with that
Nah, we had the Roald Dahl one where the lady murders her husband with a frozen leg of lamb and cooks it for the police
It’s meant to make you question traditions, when they had me read it in school the teacher spent a lot of time making sure we understood the meaning behind it
We read both :o
Happy Birthday Geezer Butler! (July 17,1949)
Music from stage 4 of Dyna Blade.
Happy birthday to Stephen Richard “Steve” Hackett (born 12 February 1950)
“I think I was very lucky to meet Genesis and had many wonderful times. I think working on that first album, Nursery Cryme, with Genesis was a wonderful moment. (…) That was a big deal for me, at age twenty-one, working with them. It was a fulfillment of a lot of musical dreams. I wanted to work with a band that loved classical music as well as rock music. I loved working with the mellotron. I loved the fact that we sounded like a rock band or folk acoustic outfit and the next we sounded like an orchestra. That was hugely important to me, the fact that the band could turn on a dime, become this other thing, and that rock shoulders could be broad enough to absorb and use those influences.”
Happy birthday, Steve Hackett!

Pink Floyd recording and filming Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii’s “Seamus” with the help of a friendly Borzoi named Mademoiselle Nobs, 1971. The film was directed by Adrian Maben and filmed over a period of four days in October, later being released in 1972. This was the only live performance of the song. (Fans would rate it one of the band’s worst tunes.)
