Lunar Lineage: The Howell Family
Started a challenge I found for Sims 4 called Lunar Lineage: A Werewolf Legacy Challenge by Sovereign_Flower & IllusoryThrall. I recently got a few more packs when they were on sale, including the werewolf one, and wanted to try a legacy challenge instead of just poking around aimlessly.
So for my first challenge, meet Aela Howell!
Just your average teenage runaway looking for answers
I went with the hard start option and bulldozed the lot so she had to start out with sleeping on the ground at first and hiding from adults.
Aela grew up with her dad in a neighboring town, never knowing about her mother's family. The only thing she had to remember her mother, who passed away when she was a child, is a crescent shaped moon necklace and the name of the town she grew up in, Moonwood Mill.
Feeling increasingly estranged from her dad's side of the family and suspicious that there is something to these persistent rumors about wolves and Aela's maternal side the family, she runs away to Moonwood Mill and roughs it on an abandoned lot. She avoids adults as much as possible and uses the local public library to shower and check out books on werewolf lore. None of the other kids she's met seems to be familiar with her mother's last name, but this doesn't stop her from exploring the area in the hopes of discovering the secrets of this run-down little village. its a pretty quiet little place where folks tend to mind their own business, but Aela can't help but wonder about the howling that kicks up on some nights when the moon is full.
Aela fishes and sells what she catches to an old fisherman in town who doesn't ask too many questions like "where are your parents" or "shouldn't you be in school, young lady?" This eventually allows her to buy a tent, cooler, and little camp table, which makes her feel a little safer at night.
That howling in the woods at night is probably nothing, right? This cheap nylon tent will definitely protect me.
Unfortunately, while exploring the neighborhood, she stumbled across a huge, man-sized wolf! One stepped on snapped twig later and the huge beast is towering over her, snarling and snorting. Aela tries to reason with it while inching back the way she came but terror and instinct wins out, making her try to dart away in fear. This must have triggered some prey drive in the gigantic werewolf, for what else could it be even in broad daylight, and it pounced at her.
Aela isn't sure what happened next. All she can remember is waking up some hours later near her squat with a headache and a horrible looking bite mark on her arm.
Fingers crossed the librarian won't notice I'm foaming at the mouth
She eventually drags herself over to the library across the river to take her daily shower and clean herself up a bit. She doesn't have enough money to go to a doctor and she's frankly afraid to talk to anyone about it. What if she has rabies! What if they lock her up for telling crazy stories about a gigantic werewolf prowling around! She attempts to act natural and look up her symptoms in a medical diagnostic textbook, but can't seem to find any useful information. What's a girl to do?
