A thought happening in the background, can't tell if it's Valg or Rudi but kinda feels like both, but trying to translate the thoughts into sentences is like

Stupid metaphor but feels like trying to flip a hash brown but the potato shreds aren't sticking together well enough

Something about how over the years I lost nearly all my hobbies for various reasons but a lot of the reasons have been "my time and energy and effort was getting monopolized by 'friends'" but the simultaneous alternate interpretation of that is something along the lines of "I liked reading so much when I was a kid because I was incredibly lonely and now I'm entirely alone again"

I'm not gonna officially increase the goal to 100 but I am gonna probably attempt to read 100 books this year

At the beginning of the year I set one of those goodreads goals to read 12 books. A book a month, pretty conservative goal, but I was doing pretty fucking bad in January so I wanted to give myself a win. I hit the goal within a couple months, so I increased it to 50. ...And I just finished #49. Feels like that's mostly thanks to animorphs but I'm on book 21 so it's only like.. half animorphs hehe

Just... feels good. I used to read voraciously when I was a kid but then didn't much at all for a long time, it's good to get back into it

I had gotten spoilers over the years for some animorphs books I hadn't read as a kid, like I knew that Tobias got his morphing ability back even though I hadn't read that one, so I know what happens with David but oh shit now I'm gonna read about what happens with David

I thought I was taking it slow on taming but a couple sites recommended letting gerbils get used to their new home for a few days to a couple weeks without even putting your hand in the cage, so she's actually ahead of schedule. I wish I could hold her and pet her already but she's taken treats from my hand AND actually seems just as interested in investigating my hand by itself, if I open the door and put my hand in she comes over to check it out

Unfortunately still haven't managed to get decent pictures that aren't "furry beige blur" hehe

I’ve never drawn all of the Animorphs kids in color and that’s a crime! In celebration of the official graphic novel announcement, I polished up some old sketches into portraits. My mental images of everyone have stayed pretty solid since I first read the series, so I only needed to make a few adjustments. They needed some kind of background, so I went for some cartoony clouds, after the book covers.

SHE'S SO CUTE

Still very jumpy but can tell she's curious. If I move or the chair makes a noise or something that startles her she'll SPRINT into a burrow but if I walk over to the cage and talk to her she'll come out and sniff at me it is very cute

I am going to have to get some clear plastic and a way to wire it to the outside of the cage cause Lovelace has been doing TONS of digging and remodeling and tunnel construction and kicking bedding through the wires making the floor a gigantic mess in about a 3 foot radius lol - really awesome seeing her getting comfortable and making use of all the space
