Currently I've been obsessed with BCSD and couldn't help myself but to make an oc for my favourite show!! I love how the show goes in depth in their character's personality and how funny the show was. I WILL FOREVER STAND BY MY POINT, BE COOL SCOOBY-DOO IS PEAK!!

Anyways,, lets talk abt my oc!! her name is mollv!! She's a younger sister of Beth and daughter of Jonathan (ep 21 s1). Her mother has not been on good terms with her father, leading to a divorce between them. With two daughters to consider, they have to make a decision to choose which parent to stay with. Molly, though reluctantly, went with her mother, and together they moved to a large city to start over.

Despite the distance and the changes in their lives, Molly and Beth remained close, keeping in touch through letters and messages.

Scooby Doo is usually my go-to background noise when I draw but honestly sometimes I just get captivated and watch a few episodes XD

So, inspired by @the-scooby-gang ‘s fic ‘us but not quite’ on ao3 and made me wanna take a spin at drawing my own version of ‘Poly-Scooby-gang meets the dysfunctional ass mystery incorporated teens’ while I’m in writing hell.

My poly gang is based in the 60s while my redesigns for the mystery inc gang is more early 2000s (cuz I love me some contrast). And I think it’s funny for this ‘modern’ Scooby gang to be weirded out by this version of them that looks like hippies and are weirdly touchy-feely with eachother lolol

Be Cool Scooby Doo is one of the best iterations of the Scooby Doo franchise and I will DIE ON THIS HILL.

The comedy is perfection. The number of jokes I repeat back to family and friends like, "BUT THE POOFING!!" and "I just CAN'T with Crows!!"...its really fun and silly.

The characters actually get fleshed out. Like Daphne is an utter weirdo, not a lovesick teeny-bopper (yes, a community nbc reference) who only cares about Fred, and she is constantly picking up weird hobbies and interests, and basically holds the group together in this show. Scooby and Shaggy have food loving personalities, not unlike other versions of the franchise, but they are sassy and have their own complex friendship. Velma is a genius girl who struggles socially and has a lot of interest in tech, more so than people. And FRED. Fred usually doesn't have much of a personality in most iterations of Scooby Doo, but he is a controlling, bossy, mystery obsessed guy in this show and he OWNS IT.

Its meta as hell. All of the characters are pretty self aware and in later episodes call out the fact that they are like, doing the same things formulaic-ly. Its hilarious and bizarre for a "kids show" to be doing. I LOVE IT!

i love mystery inc for the artstle and compelling plot but sometimes the characters piss me off like wtf did you kick marcy out of your group? like she has no friends then you take her in and a few days later kick her out cause daphne's back like wth?! also the forced velma x shaggy plotline is so hard to watch like velma i know your lesbian don't try to force whatever this is, be gay (with marcy) c'mon. also everyone is kinda mean to each other and sometimes act like they don't like each other and are only together cause of the curse.

i think i like the be cool gang more cause i always feel like they choose to solve mysteries together and they enjoy each others company and care about each other. the dynamics are more fun to watch. i mean the artstyle is jaring at first but it grew on me tbh and the writing and comedy make it worth it.

they really made the effort to give them different outfits each time they're dressed for the cold, at the very least recoloring them (i was about to say shaggy and scoobys are all recolors, but shaggy's 3rd outfit is actually not, you can tell especially if you look at his pants and boots), plus daphne gets a whole extra (sick as fuck) cold outfit for her spy thing she had going on. this show really has so much attention to detail, im never making fun of the art style again
