Mercy popped up on the side of the fence by the roses, startling poor Damien. “Hi Damien!” She chirps happily, looking down at him.
Damien jumps, spilling his tea all over himself, luckily he had been reading as well, giving the tea time to cool and not give him 2nd degree burns. “Hello..Mercy….” @the-lost-small
Mercy squeaks when Damien spills his tea and giggles a little. “I’m sorry Damien! Are you ok?” She asks as she hops off the fence and into his yard. “You didn’t get burned?”
“No, the tea was just warm not hot, I’m fine.” He reassures her while trying to clean himself up. He walks to the kitchen and invites her in while he gets a towel to dry the tea.
Mercy smiles and follows him inside, sitting on the kitchen bench while Damien cleans himself up. “How’s your day been so far?” She questions
“Quite well. Work was nice, I got a raise.” He finishes and then puts the towel on the counter, “How was your day?”
Mercy bites her lip. “It was… ok… I suppose… yeah ok I got Suspended for lighting a fire.” She mumbles before peeking up at Damien.
“Mercy. What I have I told you about staying awah from lighters and the such?” He asks, arms crossed.
“I didn’t start the fire though! Honest. One of the seniors tossed a cigarette in the recycling bin, I tried to put it out… but… got the blame instead.” She smiles meekly. “I don’t light fires at school. Only… outside of school.” She mumbles.
“You shouldn’t light them at all. I apologize for being such a buzkill or party pooper but when you get older you could get in serious trouble. That is arson, it could hurt someone. Now, I know this time it was not your fault but you must understand how serious these things are. Alright?”
“Yes Damien” Mercy replies. She decides to change the subject. “I saw you planting new flowers the other day. What are they?”
