My take on Geten and what role they're gonna play
Okay so...a lot will not agree with this but it's just my personal headcanon. Also I will refer to Geten as "they" for now since we don't have a canon gender yet.
Anyways, as much as I hate to say this but I'm almost certain Geten will function as some sort of plot device for Dabis arc that will hopefully come soon.
The reason for this is that I think that everything about Geten was designed with something in mind. I guess we can all agree that they resemble Rei a LOT...then, obviously the ice quirk. Even the soulless look on their face reminds me of Rei a lot. Though I'm almost 101% sure that Geten and Rei are not related and if they are then maybe very very distant. But we know that quirks exist multiple times and the bright hair and eyelashes really tie together the concept of Getens character so I don't think they necessarily have to be related.
I think, ultimately Dabi and Geten might "start something" whether it's a relationship or just a crush, I don't really know or care. I do think though that Dabi might fall for them at some point. You know how people always say that we fall for those who resemble our parents in one way or another? Yeah....
So what if Geten is there to bring that Enji/Rei parallel into the story together with Dabi? What if Dabi suffers from flashbacks because of how much Geten reminds him of his mother? And ultimately breaks down because of it, leading into his arc and his backstory.
Guys I really think I'm up to something here but I could also be completely wrong...it wouldn't be the first time that Hori leads us on so let's see what the future holds.
Either way in the meanwhile stan Geten as the strong and villainous character that they are.
