Pierce: I’m sorry that I turned you into... well a princess.
Pierce: I’m not good at the whole showing how I like someone. Or liking people. I like you. Quite a bit.
When in doubt ask a goddess || Hera & Oogie
queenoftheimmortals:
Hera had to admit, his mischievous, smirking grin could rival hers. She actually trusted that more than people who spoke pretty words or had grand intentions. She smiled.
“Perhaps it is. If you tell me his greatest fear involves a partner going insane, you may replace my husband as my favorite person to grace my presence today.”
“Why have just one partner go insane?” Pierce shrugged. “While he’s forgetting she can be remembering or whatever you like. Slowly losing their minds in the process.” He suggested. “A true test of their love if you will.”
ursulakolettis:
“You asked me to, did you not?” she replied. She raised a brow when he made his request, her eyes darting to the letter opener before she sighed. “Seriously? You know I’ve been trying to steer clear of magic,” she reminded, rolling her eyes before walking over. She lifted the letter opener, bit the corner of her bottom lip, then pressed the sharp point into her middle finger. A sharp inhale escaped her when it finally punctured the skin, and she let a drop fall onto the contract before placing the letter opener down. “Now that that’s over, can you just tell me what you did?” she asked, walking over to where she had hidden a first aid kit and grabbing a bandage for her finger.
“Doesn’t mean you’d listen to me.” Pierce told her, it wouldn’t be the first time after all. For one, Ursula was annoyingly still “nice” and turned away from magic, both of which Pierce frowned upon. Once the deal was sealed he gave a snap of his fingers and dragged a chair over to her. “You might want to sit.” He warned her. “Long story short I made a gift for Mal out of a certain princess of her past and it back fired so now she think she’s the princess.” Pierce rushed out. “At least her personality is drastically changed.” He added as he got up and unlocked his safe to pull out the finger wrapped in a handkerchief. “It was supposed to put anyone who touched it into a deep everlasting sleep, but I underestimated the fairy story bullshit.” Pierce explained as he set the finger down on the desk carefully for her to examine. “It should go without saying, but don’t touch the finger.”
surrenderxdorothy:
She shrugged, unbothered. Most people didn’t agree with her, but Dorothy didn’t care. Books were how she understood the world. “Ooh, a dragon? I’ve never met one of those.” Her eyes widened in delight. “Oh right, the skeleton. I spied on him a little, like you asked.” For a few days, before she lost interest. Being a spy wasn’t as thrilling as she’d thought it would be. It was mostly skulking around the funeral home and pretending to look for Shock when people asked what she was doing there.
“He doesn’t really do much besides work and take walks in the cemetery. He’s very boring. But sometimes when he talks, there’s this…” she hesitated, not sure how to describe it. “It’s like there’s something else inside him. Like a shadow. So I think the skeleton is still in there, somewhere. But not like regular people’s skeletons,” she added with a laugh. “Maybe it was just a trick of the light.” It sounded far-fetched even to Dorothy. She didn’t doubt what she’d seen, but she was predisposed to believe in extraordinary things. It reminded her a little of Pitch’s shadows, but the skeleton man only had one.
“With any luck and skill, you will meet one soon.” It wasn’t supposed to sound as threatening as it did, but he didn’t care enough to remedy it. Though going off how every other conversation went with the girl so far, she probably would take it as a play date. Pierce smiled when she said she had actually spied on Jack. She was already an improvement to the trickster brats. “Is that so?” He leaned back in his chair as he sipped his coffee while listening to Jack’s habits. Unsurprisingly, he apparently was living a very dull existence. Oogie was going to have to fix that soon.
If only Jack was just workaholic gravewalker, but no it seemed that skeleton actually made it over to Fableton. Pierce let a heavy breath exit his nose as he leaned forward and rubbed his forehead. “Damn...” he muttered as he tapped his finger against the table. “That’ll make things complicated.” Pierce shook his head before turning his attention to Dorothy. “You’ve actually been helpful, thank you. Please if you see any more of this skeleton and what it can do let me know.”

Arthur narrowed his eyes at the man and shook his head. It was that kind of attitude that he abhorred in the world. “I believe our understandings of the word ‘charming’ might differ slightly.”
“I think we differ on most things in all fairness.”
surrenderxdorothy:
“I guess not. In one of the sequels, I get to go back to Oz.” She shrugged. Her life didn’t follow them very closely, but that was one detail she hoped was true. “Everything is a book,” she laughed. “Or a story, at least. What do you need then?”
“Sequels?” Pierce furrowed his brow. “My life isn’t,” he told her. “A story perhaps, if you want to look at life that way.” He conceded. If she wanted to go about her life like she was a writer trying to keep their audience hooked, that wasn’t really his business. “A how to guide on how to turn a princess back into a dragon...” Pierce said absentmindedly. “Or if you know how to overthrow a skeleton that would also be helpful.”

Hera arched an eyebrow, definitely intrigued with the it blew up aspect of any conversation. She didn’t ask, though. Asking was too direct, at least in this moment, and it would also take them off topic. She wasn’t inclined to drag this exchange out.
The rest of his talking points had her attention, though. She could do better versus he’s impertinent – Pierce certainly knew his audience. He had come to the right place. She offered a cool smile. “I can work with distraught. It’s almost easy to play into fears and doubts when they’re right at the surface.”

That was another story for another time, perhaps for his safety a story to be told of the fourth of never, in the year of not happening. People tended to get touchy about conning someone out a soul. If pressed Pierce would omit his part in the explosion. Maybe it was time Pierce looked at his skill of gift giving... especially when it came to Mal.
Pierce smiled a devilish grin worthy of Boris Karloff narrating how terrible his idea was. “Perhaps it’s time then, for Dimitri’s deepest fear to come true.”
ursulakolettis:
Ursula probably should have confronted Pierce when she had run into Maleficent the first time around. Now that it was him asking her to meet, she was not looking forward to whatever it is he had done. It was clear to see that something magical had happened, and knowing this town, she wasn’t surprised that it had backfired somehow. It was days like these that she actually appreciated not having her magic any longer. At least now, she didn’t run the risk of fucking everything up by mistake. Walking into the shop, she made sure the door was locked and the sign was flipped to CLOSED before making her way to the backroom. “What did you do now?” she questioned as she walked into his office with her arms crossed over her chest.
Pierce stopped spinning and only took a minute to steady himself before going to Ursula. “Ah good, you came.” He said. “Now before I tell you I need to have you swear to never tell a soul about this.” He waited a moment. “I need you to swear it magically... for legal reasons.” Pierce then handed her a sharp letter opener. “Just a drop will do, no ill effects as long as you keep your mouth shut.”
the-onceandfuture-king:
“Or they would have the sense to understand that it is simply what children do. What, pray tell, do you achieve by being so bitter?”
“Only my charming personality.” He smirked slightly.
surrenderxdorothy:
“Oh.” Her face fell at the sadness of his comment. “Mine didn’t have a very happy ending either.” Her story counterpart got to go home, but that was the worst possible ending for the real Dorothy. She had no idea why anyone would want to leave Oz. “That’s true. That part was creepy even in the stories. There has to be another way. Curses can always be broken. Otherwise, it would be a terrible story, and no one would want to read it.”
Pierce cleared his throat and straightened his back, he didn’t care for her pity. “Yours isn’t over yet,” he corrected. Pierce was blissfully unaware of anyone by the name of Tim Burton and wasn’t too interested in reading any children’s books to know much of story counterparts. “Life isn’t a book,” he told her as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “I don’t need any pity or a prep talk, thanks.”
surrenderxdorothy:
“In the stories, it always works.” She nodded, sure of that at least. “Why is it complicated?”
“In stories people like me don’t get the happily ever after.” It came out sadder than Pierce meant it to. He never much believed in fairy tales anyway. “I don’t think she would let me kiss her and it’s not as acceptable in reality to kiss a sleeping girl.”
Pierce spun in his chair in the back room of the Magic Shack while he waited for Ursula. Opened on his desk were every one of his journals of spells and tricks. Tucked safely inside the silver locket was Aurora’s cursed finger, it too sat on his desk. Pierce was maybe a good day away from putting up a bulletin board with red string connecting all the dots for a solution. So far the most viable solution came from the brown haired girl about true love’s kiss, that however, had a set of unique problems.

Ursula: She did to me. I have no idea if she's been sharing that knowledge with others or not.
Ursula: Then let's meet because I want answers. When and where?
Pierce: ... Would you believe me if I said it was a legal finger?
Pierce: The shop and say around 11? That way we'll be closed and won't have to deal with any customers.
surrenderxdorothy:
She nodded thoughtfully. Cursed objects weren’t unheard of either, but maybe that was just because she read a lot. They didn’t come up as often as some other things. “Well, in the stories, the best way to break a curse is usually true love’s kiss. Did you try that?”
Pierce remembered Mal’s previous reaction to him. “I’m not sure that’ll work.” Pierce told her. Though, honestly it might but the logistics were extremely complicated. “It’s a bit complicated.”
