It seems like a gorgeous day, Mel!
It is, you should join me. She had her pretty smile painted in her face, itself filled with the light that she was constituted form.
Maybe I will. Lily joined meliona not short of ten minutes later. The sun bouncing off of her red locks, her eyes shining bright, and her face had a soft smile etched upon it. She sat next to meliona and breathed a: I missed you.
I missed you too. She whispers, while looking at the other girl. She after a fews second naturally put her head in the lap of the other girl, like if didn't mean anything. And it really didn't they did this since they were children, it didn't mean anything but it meant everything. How was your week ? She asks after a while.
Lily immediately entwined her fingers into her best friend’s hair; twisting and curling the hair around her fingers. She let out a contented sigh as she stared ahead of her, admiring the view; the grass was green, the sun was casting down upon hehe trees and foliage, and the breeze was blowing from behind her, gently. She looked down after a while, sending meliona a sweet smile before saying: shit. Exams have been getting on my nerves a little but now, I’m okay. How’s yours been, love?
Better now that you are here. She laughts quietly. It was fine, I'm happy to have met Severance but there's definitely something strange about him.
@lost-dim-prince
There is indeed… she said, her voice slightly off and unnerved. She cleared her throat, not wanting to sound weird. She leaned down and pressed a kiss upon her forehead—they did it since they were kids, surely it wouldn’t be weird now..?
Meliona can fells herself gasp, but she tries to not to. They are friends, it doesn't mean anything. It can't mean anything. What should we do, my knight. She asks with a little smile. It was a pet name that she had given Lily when they were children, Severus was The Prince, Lily The Knight and her... The Doll.
Well, my doll, perhaps we could skip our next lesson and go exploring? I heard that there are some newly bloomed flowers nearby and I’d quite like to see them. Care to join me? She said grinning. The reminder of the nicknames were bittersweet but nevertheless, she would always do anything for her prince or her doll.
I will follow you until the end of the world, don't you know that - my pretty knight ? It's you, me and him, until the end. Anyone else, doesn't matter.
It’s the three of us until the end. Despite being torn apart, our souls still remain entwined within one another; we’ll never fully lose him. You know I’d do anything for the two of you, my gorgeous?
And I'll do anything for you. It was romantic, they both knew this. They both knew that saying this like this was bad for their heart, bad for their relationship. Bad... but they couldn't stop each other it was just like that they were. Always have been.
Lily stared down at her, her own thoughts whirring through her mind frantically. She leaned down again, this time placing a kiss upon meliona’s cheek; it was a soft and tender kiss that spoke many words. She leaned back up, settling into her previous position and said: you’re gorgeous, you. I’m always shocked that you don’t have men queuing for you.!
I'm not interested in men, only in you.
Lily practically choked on air. She coughed a few times before regaining her composure, laughing slightly: you don’t mean that, Mel. I know you..
Meliona nods, turning away from the girl. And for a while, they stay like this, breathing in harmony, while their hearts break. Then Meliona takes her hand and whispers. Okay, little knight - show me the world.
Lily squeezed her hand gently in a comforting way— whether she was comforting her heart that was slowly shattering or the girl who was laid her lap, she doesn’t know. She sent her a crooked smile: after you, my love.
They start walking, until they arrive in a little field filled with beautiful waters. It loooked just like one of the field in Crokwroth they used to visit, when they were children.
There wasn't this type of filed in the neighberhood that Lily and Sev had grown up. Only in her's. Her, that had grown up in a house filled with gold and expensive things. Her that was just like Potter and Black. Her....
Lily stared out at the field with a small smile pulling on her lips. It looked exactly like the field back home in cokeworth, where they had spent hours playing in. She picked a flower and turned towards Meliona, tucking it behind her ear. The colour suits you, she whispered.
Thank you. She whispers back. Breathing the pure air. She loved this type of things, she loved delicate and dreamy things, it was just who she was... She was dark too... but it didn't matter. It wasn't something that she wanted to think about. Not right now.
She looks at the girl infront of her, the girl her parents hated for the family she camed form. My knight, would you accept a dance ? She asks, while taking the other girl's hand to her mouth to kiss it.
Lily had to bite back the smile that was forming om her face, and tried to ignore the surge of heat covering her cheeks like a blanket. She interlocked their fingers, shuffling closer and said: it would be my pleasure to accept your dance, my princess.
Meliona with her wand makes a song start to play. It was something stupid, a song they used to listen lazy nights where they had no responsibility, and could just relax. Maybe they both loved this song so much, because it was a music that represented them.
She takes the other girl, and with a smile makes her starting to dance. They were good a this, dancing together. Soon came the time to turn, so they did. They valsed in the middle of a flower field, looking eye to eye trying not to say or do anything stupid. Anything that would make them break forever, they were exactly like in the song, knowning that saying something wouldn't be appreciated.
Hey, Meliona said suddenly - their face so close, they could make one more step and kiss each other.
Hey, Lily answers, breathing softly.
Lily instinctually took a step forward, her breath fanning over Meliona’s face. She let go of her hand, and gently held it around her waist, pulling her closer my a few millimetres. They always danced like this, always.
she leant Meliona down, dipping her if I must say. She had a split second to think her next move: to kiss or to not kiss? Why not. She leaned down slightly, placing a chaste kiss onto her lips. She returned Meliona to her upright position, holding back a smile as she did so.
hey, she giggled softly again.
Hi, she whispers back. Not felling like running away, not again. She couldn't do this to Lily. She didn't want to break her best friend heart again, not while knowing that they were finally alright. Not okay, but alright.
Still, kissing her felt like a sin. Something so deliciously wrong, that she couldn't stop herself for wanting more. Wanting Lily's heart, soul and everything else that the redhead could give her.
Hey... She says again, followed by they both fall into silence, staying close one of other. Meliona briefly asks herself, if Lily was doing this because she was scared that Meliona was going to run away...
Lily stared deep into Meliona’s eyes, wanting to find a trace of reassurance to keep going. She lifted her hand to caress her face gently; tracing her jawline and cheekbones. She leaned closer once more. May I..? She asked, just inches away from her face; her lips ghosting the other girl’s.
Yes... please do.
Lily didn’t realise she was holding her breath until she let it go. A smile crept up from her face and basked on her lips as she closed the space between them. The kiss was passionate to say the least; ragged breaths and quiet murmurs were shared.
she parted from the kiss; her lips a crimson red and a faint blush rushed through her cheeks. She leaned her forehead against Meliona’s, she was giggling slightly.
Lily was nothing more than elated. She felt weightless, free, and happy; she enjoyed every single moment they shared. But one thing was present in her mind: was that a mistake?
Meliona doesn't wants to let go, because the moment that she does, everything will fall apart. It had always been like this with them - she was the doll made for porcelain and Lily was the knight that didn't know how to make sure that she would stay intact.
Meliona would fall into the ground and breaking in a hundred pieces. Lily was someone that couldn't save her, couldn't save them both from their destiny.
One day, the redhead would fall for a boy someone that she would love, just like society expected of her. And Meliona would fall in the ground and break, she was just the doll. The precious doll of Ellsworth, that would marry the men that her parents wanted. She wasn't worth of Lily loves. They both knew this. She would move on and Meliona wouldn't.
This was their fate.
Lily noticed the shift in the mood. She let go of Meliona, holding her arms behind her back. She stepped away, bowing her head. This is a mistake… she spoke quietly.
she looked up to meet her eyes. She couldn’t do this to her, no way. Their love was doomed from the start. Like the two star cross’d lovers everyone talks about. This will never work, will it?
No, the other girl whispers back. We will never work, Lily.... You will marry Potter and I will marry someone like Blonderwon... someone with money - because this is my destiny. I am my parents doll - she says the world like it was rotten, because after all this was the true. That world, that nickname was rotten, it was something that had given her, it was her role, the one that eventually do everything that they want.
I am not fated to end with you, I never have been fated to end with you. I am a girl and you are also one... but this is not the only reason, you are an Evans and I'm an Ellsworth. I have an empire to my name and I most serve it. And you have the chance to be free, just not with me.
Meliona’s words shattered lily’s heart into a thousand pieces. She looked away, trying to not let her composure falter. Cant we defy fate for a little while? She asked, her voice shuddering. You can be free.. you could run away?
I can't anymore.... I don't want to.... not since Severus is gone. I can't do this, if he isn't here. He was my best friend.
Lily tries to say something but the other girl stop her and says : No... you don't get, he was MY best friend. You were each other siblings... But Severus was MY best friend... You two didn't have the same connection and that is fine. But I don't want to continue with this, with hopping if he isn't here to hope with me. I can't be free knowing that Severus won't be free with me.
quite frankly, Lily was speechless. She didn’t know what to say nor do. Comforting words don’t help, affection is off of the table and if she try to emphasise, she fears Mel will take it the wrong way. I..I don’t know what to say, she stuttered.
Don't say anything. The girl slowly gets away of the arms of the other girl. I think I have to go. I have to study. See you around Lily. And then she starts to run away.
Lily sighed. She was left again. Crest-fallen, but this time in a field that looked like their childhood. She sat down— why not? There was nothing else to wait for. She watched as the flowers swayed in the breeze; they perfectly encapsulated freedom.
she’s going to stay here for a while. No one will notice she’s gone, right?
