Natasha Romanoff X fem! Reader- Secrets pt 3/?

You woke up to the sound of Natasha mumbling “Shit!" and a thump in the darkness. You turned on the lamp just in time to see her fall over, half naked onto the floor. 

"What the hell are you doing?!" you asked her groggily, attempting to rub the sleep from your eyes. 

"It's 8!" she exclaimed, hopping around trying to put her pants on. You swore and followed suit, getting dressed in your typical workday outfit before running to the kitchen to pack up your pre-made lunches. 

"We can grab breakfast on the way," Nat said as she pulled you away from the sink where you were brushing your teeth and out the door. 

You dropped Natasha off out front of the SHIELD base and sped into the parking lot. 

You were already five minutes late to your meeting when you walked in, and Col. Burk was beyond displeased. 

"Glad to see you made it, agent L/N," he remarked as you sat down and spread the files out in front of you. 

"My apologies sir, there were more urgent matters at hand," you replied, and it wasn't a lie. Natasha's sleep patterns were very important to you.

You escaped from that meeting partially unscathed, and you walked briskly to your class.

"Alright people, get off your sorry asses and prove to me you've been practicing. I want all of you up that rope today, there are no ladders when you're in pursuit," You clapped your hands and your students scrambled to form a line as they took turns climbing the rope. 

The last one was still struggling to get off the ground when you saw Natasha walk in.

You met her by the doorway, immediately noticing that something was wrong. 

She had tears in her eyes when you pulled her aside into the locker room and she began to sob as she said, 

"They pardoned him!" she pressed her face into your chest, gasping for air.

"They pardoned Barnes." she cried.

You stopped thinking for a moment, in shock at what had happened. Natasha, the woman who had severe PTSD, was going to spend most of her working hours with the man who had raped her.

The first few chapter are going to be shorter for background and then we can get longer when there is more action. Also, I would love to know if you want longer chapter posted less often, or shorter chapters posted more often.

Honest question:

Since Natasha Romanoff was sterilised as a child, does she menstruate? And if not then why are there so many fanfics about her on her period, but none about here finding out what they are and being totally confused?!? I think it would be hilarious.

That night you sat in bed waiting for Nat to get home, your laptop discarded besides you. You heard the door slam and Natasha stumbled into the room.

“I could sleep for a thousand years.” She gave you a kiss on the head and then threw her pants across the room to grab her pajamas.

"Stark kept you guys late?” You asked and Nat harrumphed a reply.

"He thinks that just because he doesn’t sleep means that we shouldn’t either.” Nat climbed into the bed and laid her head on your shoulder.

"I know babe. You should say something to him. ”

"Doesn’t that make me look weak? I’m a spy, I was raised to withstand days without sleep.” Her piercing green eyes met yours and you kissed her putting all the love you could into it.

"You are never weak Natalia.” You said, your voice husky. “They taught you how to work without sleep, how to survive and finish the mission. But without a goal to set upon yourself, you’re just plain out exhausted.”

"What did I do to deserve you?” Natasha ran her fingers along your abdomen until she fingered the waistline of your pants. You laid a hand on top of hers.

“You, need sleep. It’s only Monday after all.”

“But Y/N!” She protested and you pinned her down as she giggled until she was embraced with her face against your chest and her legs entaingled with yours.

“Goodnight Natalia.” You pressed a kiss to her forehead and she sighed and snuggled closer into you.“

"Goodnight Y/N” she mumbled already half asleep.

CHAPTER 1

As you sat in your grand office in your overpriced work clothes, your assistant called you saying the Avengers wished to see you. At that moment, you knew today was going to suck. 


You were one of the highest level SHIELD agents and being Fury’s right hand woman was never easy. The Avengers walked into your office and your eyes automatically rolled at how ridiculous they looked. All except for Natasha Romanoff who wore her typical masked expression. You and Natasha had been married in secret for 3 years and while you loved her, the Avengers were a whole other story.


You had anxiety and depression, and so you had been known to be a little odd on occasion when your meds were late of if it was just a generally bad day. The rumors about you circulated around the office for example: you were too mentally unstable to work, you killed your last assistant, you ate your victims and so on. But it wasn’t the rumors that bugged you, those that knew you knew they weren’t true. It was the fact that almost all of them originated from the Avengers. 


And so, since the Avengers hated you and since Natasha was pretty sure that Steve was a homophobe, you kept your secret from them. 


"What can I do for you” you deadpanned, still looking down at the mission reports you had to sign over. 


"You ran an op in Bangladesh last year.” Rogers looked so American that it made you want to gag. “We need to know who exactly was on it with you.” 


"It was just me and Hill” you replied, the bitterness seeping into your voice. 


"So we’ll go and see her then.” Rogers said and he pivoted and walked out the door with the rest of the Avengers on his heels. None of them looked back except for Nat who mouthed “love you.”


"You gave her a look that overflowed with longing. Yep. Today was most definitely going to suck.
