The shadow ban has been lifted, but after some thought I have decided to make this blog the backup and continue RPing at @redacted-raven going forward.
This blog will continue to serve as my backup in case Things Happen again.
I do have to run some errands this afternoon. If the matter hasn't been resolved by the time I get home from those, I'll make a backup blog and get back to it. Getting a shadowban repealed can apparently take up to a month or even more.
I'm pretty sure that I got shadowbanned for post spam or something, 'cause my messenger is disabled and I can't respond to posts.
I've sent a support ticket to tumblr, but there's no telling when or even if they'll respond.
Tumblr is seriously malfunctioning for me. I can't load my messenger or post replies to anything. If you don't already have my Discord, come find me at Titanium#3175.
Aurora nodded as she looked over the stuff that Raven had gotten. It was a lot, but it was meant for at least three people, so it made sense she would have to lend a hand. Not that she had any problems with that.
She did wonder about what the other had said her brother was... A huntsman. It sounded like it was some kind of job... maybe she should ask about it when they got back to the safe house.
Once they return to the safehouse, Raven dumps the grocery bags onto the counter and takes a second to catch her breath.
"I am getting way too old for this shit," she says, suddenly lamenting her lack of disposable minions to make carry stuff.
"I mean, guys did seem to be a safe assumption since, you know," she pauses, gesturing at herself. "But same, actually. Not picky, I mean."
"You know, I'm glad to hear that. You turning over a new leaf maybe? Trying to keep on the straight and narrow?" She's teasing her just a little bit this time. But she is glad to hear that Raven has a proper job, even if it's just something small.
"Yeah, that's true. There's really no denying that you're Tai's crotch-spawn. I almost feel bad for him, having his very own mini-Raven running around. Almost."
"Anyways, you know how it goes...Summer's not about to let me go back to being a bandit, even if I'll probably never be able to settle down into a normal life. The only other job I could possibly do is, well...I don't imagine they're ever going to reinstate my license."
There was something about her tone that Qrow didn't like. "We don't have to bare our souls to each other entirely just yet, not if you're not ready to." Qrow almost said we have time, even though the past few weeks had shown him they very much didn't.
He'd just started down the long, difficult road of introspection, however. Qrow had no idea where Raven was on that path.
Hell, she sees the way her brother is still hurting over this and just can't keep the secret. Not when it's preventing her family from having a chance to heal.
"She's not dead, Qrow. Or gone. Not anymore."
She won't discuss what the two have been up to, though. That part can wait.
"Yeah, I guess she was." Tai sighed, he wanted to question Raven's crypticness but decided to let it go for now. At that moment the oven beeped.
"Oh wow. That timing was perfect. Let me get that and I'll dish it up. How much do you want to eat?"
"Not too much. I can't exactly fly if I wind up in a food coma," she answers, before settling into an awkward silence.
((This meme has been stuck in my head for the last few days))
So bandits were still a thing in this time? At least some things never truly change in this world. She wasnt that surprised to learn thst the older woman grew up as a bandit, the most surprising thing was that she had a sibling.
"Well guess that is more that i know about this time, i guess.... You mentioned a brother, where is he?"
"Qrow? He's still a Huntsman. He's been off running around with the kids, or at least some of them. I'm sure you'll get to meet him soon enough if you stick around."
With everything they should need in the basket, Raven goes to check out so that they can get this stuff back home. "You're probably going to have to help carry some of this. I might be strong, but I only have so much space in my arms."
"Yeah, that works for me," he nodded. It was easy to agree to listen to his sister, but Qrow knew that opening up... Of course, that was a whole other can of worms. It wasn't like his personal demons were particularly new, and Qrow frankly didn't think exposing them to the light of day was going to do anything.
"Its a good thing Summer isnt around to hear you say that. She'd never shut up about personal growth."
FUCK.
"Yeeeeaaaaah, so...about that."
That did make her a little bit confused. Life was clearly a lot better then it used to be before all these new, wonderful things, and yet some people still lived without it?
"Really? I'm surprised that there are still people who live somewhat like how it used to be years ago... May i ask why that is?"
"My brother and I grew up in one of Anima's bandit clans. They tend not to have the education to make use of complex technology, given that there's no education system beyond learning how to fight and kill."
"So while the two of us are college educated as a result of the tribe's schemes, the average bandit is about as sharp as a bowling ball."

"I see." Qrow didn't try and argue her point - for one thing that would only prove it.
Had he never listened? It had to be true in some respects. He had missed the fact that Raven was unhappy at home. Even back then, Qrow had been a problem drinker. Unfettered by home ownership (or being able to hold down an apartment) and parental responsibilities, Qrow had traipsed around Remnant free as a (part-time) bird.
Maybe he had been unwilling (or unable) to hear Raven.
"... I'm sorry."
"I know, Qrow. I'm not holding it against you or anything. That's just the truth of what happened, pleasant or no."
"Let's agree that maybe we should both be a little bit more open and willing to listen to each other. Sound good?"
"I'm sorry, did you say a job? Other than being a bandit leader or are we counting that? Also guitar? What, were you trying to pick up chicks at Beacon?"
Is she sassing her mom? Yes a little bit, but just because the thought of Raven playing guitar and holding down any sort of job is absolutely hilarious to her.
"Or guys, I'm not picky. But yeah, I was totally trying to attract a certain somebody's attention back then."
"And, well...it's not glamorous, but there's a shopkeeper who pays me to help out with the repairs and managing the back room. It's not a lot, but it's honest and I don't exactly have a Huntress license anymore..."
"Also, she cooks. That's been a pleasant change after a month of nothing but Atlesian MREs. Even a human garbage disposal like me has her limits."
She can handle Yang's sass in good stride, it seems.
Raven did make a good point. It did seem like life had gotten much better for the people of Remnant since her time, and it would likely only get better. She just wished her sisters could have been able to see all of this with her...
"I guess you're right. Even if i'm not sure what most of the things you mention are... I might ask about those things at a later point."
"That's the spirit! Believe me, I had to be walked through a lot of it too, back when I was a teenager. I grew up in a camp in the wilderness, I didn't know anything about anything."
At least Aurora has a teacher with some experience with the issue!
