‘ do you ever consider running away? ’ a sigh coupled her words and she tipped her head back, resting against the tree she had sat under for shade. ‘ there are Nine other realms and this is the only one that we’re allowed to see? I find that…unfair. ’

“We’re welcome to visit most of the others, as long as we schedule it right,” Loki reminded her dryly, pressing his lips together tightly and falling silent. He pressed his hands into the soft grass surrounding the tree they were relaxing under, leaning back as well and allowing his eyes to slide closed. After a long pause, “I do. Consider it, that is. There is so much to learn that can’t be discovered on any trip that Odin would sanction.”
grandmasterrp:
The Grandmaster noticed that Loki changed the topic they were speaking of. Whether the Trickster would like to admit it or not, his past still pained him. But the Grandmaster decided not to bother him about it anymore, at least not tonight.. At least Loki tried to enjoy the rest of the day and En Dwi was more than happy to put a smile on that handsome face.
‘‘It’s not that strong. You should try it and see it for yourself’‘ En recommended the black-haired man as he took a sip of his own drink. The wine was a perfect combination of sweet fruitiness and brightness. ‘‘ It’s really good ‘‘ He told Loki who seemed to think about it. ‘‘ If you want to get drunk, I have plenty of drinks here ‘‘ He added quickly with a soft chuckle. En’s deep brown eyes were locked to look at Loki and he couldn’t help but to think of how fond he had grown of the God of Mischief. Loki was fun, interesting but also real. The Grandmaster truly enjoyed his company and in such a short time, they had grown so close that he couldn’t imagine a daily life on Sakaar without him.
‘‘ Do you want to stay here in private or do you wish to go out? ‘‘ The Grandmaster asked Loki after a while, curious to know what he wanted. Tonight was all about Loki, so he’d listen to what the Trickster had to say. Spoiling him was quite fun, actually. The joy in his jade eyes made En Dwi gast happy each time he saw it. So now it was his goal to make Loki smile so much it would hurt his soft cheeks.
At the Grandmaster’s offer to get drunk, Loki shook his head slightly. It would be unquestionably enjoyable in the short term, but there was too great of a chance that he would do something embarrassing like getting weepy for no reason at all. He sips lightly at the glass of wine and raises his eyebrows at the flavor. Despite the beautifully deep color, the taste is bright and sweet, like some sort of fruit that he can’t quite name. "This is delicious,” he comments honestly and takes another sip. “Wherever did you get wine this fine?”
Then there is that question. They could stay in and, put bluntly, get absolutely slashed and have a roll in the sheets, but the night is long. Alternatively, they could wander out of the Grandmaster’s quarters and join the rest of Sakaar’s elite. Networking is important, but not necessarily enjoyable, especially for prolonged periods. Compromise, then. “Why don’t we do a bit of both?” Loki suggests offhandedly. “Go out for a while and enjoy this beautiful night, and then come back for some private time together.” The last few words are nearly purred, but he doesn’t accompany them with a lecherous grin or any such thing.
{ Hello friends! I apologize for my unexpectedly long absence. December was... not a wonderful month. There was the business of holidays, a few rounds of illness, and too much grief. I intended to be back as much as possible from here on and will be replying to threads throughout the day. }

{ I'm sorry for my sudden absence. Just yesterday we had to put down my dog less than a month after one of my cats passed suddenly. On top of that, I've caught a second illness. I will return fully before long. }

Jotunheim
avravner:
Manners are one thing she’s found to be universal ( at least in most cases ), but his gesture is a meager distraction. Only at his voice does she look up from the table, but her gaze drops immediately back down to the subject of his inquiry. Bugger, she’s still in his cape. Neither of them can see the apparel beneath. She hasn’t a clue weather or not they are warm enough, because she hasn’t tried them without the outerwear. Svava does her utmost best not to let her nerves betray her. “No, they are wonderful, thank you.” Possibly a white lie, sure, but she does not plan on staying long enough for it to matter either way.
The silence is oppressively awkward and it simply will not do, but unlike his adoptive brother, Loki has never been a master at lively conversation. “Have you decided on plans for your visit here?” he asks as they wait for the chefs to bring out the first course. “I understand that you were unsure what to expect here, but you have now seen the realm, so perhaps you have some ideas?”
Jotunheim
avravner:
Svava doesn’t like the tone of his voice; there is something about it that tells her all is not okay. Given the context, she is a little afraid to see what the chefs have made, and even more so to try to eat it. Pulling the cape tight around her - and up off the floor again, lest she trip right into him and make a bigger fool of herself - does not keep the chill from running down her spine. The dining room he leads her to is small. Not intimate, but with only the two of them, she’s sure it will be anyway. It will be difficult to keep her walls up without coming off as cold or disrespectful, alone at such close quarters.
In a show of proper and useless manners, Loki pulls out a chair for Svava and then takes his own seat. The chairs are spaced just far enough apart that the awkwardness will be minimal, but he has a sinking feeling it would be unavoidable at this point no matter where they went. “Are the clothes you were brought warm enough?” he asks as he settles into his chair. “If you are still cold I am sure there is more that can be found.”
stormurlag:
“What if I am not capable, I—I cannot fail you all again.”
“Then someone else will step forward and take your place.” Blunt, but true. “However, if it helps any, I have faith in your abilities. If anyone can do this, it would be you.”
“We are not ready for this—I doubt we ever will be.”
“You are the king now, Thor. Our people have lost everything and they need your confidence, however false it may be. If you tell them that we can survive then they will believe it for you.”
Jotunheim
avravner:
“I wasn’t,” she begins, but there is no point in defending herself. ‘Snooping’ is a terribly criminalizing word, which is why she prefers ‘exploring,’ even if she would have liked to have found something the rumor mills would have devoured readily. Watching him shift back ranks quite high on her strangest moments list, while the idea of sharing a meal with him ranks equally low on her wish-list. Is she hungry? Yes. Does she want to spend an entire dinner alone with him? No, definitely not. Her stomach wins that battle, however. “As long as it is not a mincemeat pie made of your enemies.”
Once again, Loki scoffs. “You act like I was not raised in Asgard, same as you.” The diet of the Jotnar took some adjusting, that is true, and he hopes the Norns take mercy on him with the menu tonight. Something tame and not almost entirely comprised of blood would be perfect. “Let’s make our way to the dining room and find out what the chefs have made for us tonight.” Loki leads the way to a smaller, more intimate dining room. If it is similar to the one he used in Asgard, this would have been used for family dinners or smaller, private dinners with few guests. Even if that is not the intended purpose, that is how he has elected to use it during his reign.
helheimrulcr:
Truthfully, even she didn’t know. This revelation had completely thrown her off. Still, she stayed quiet, trying to figure it out before she replied. “Continue on with the plan I suppose. Figure out the… other details later.” It was the easiest thing to do, and she’d already started it. Might as well be sure to finish it, see it through to the end. At least then when everything was said and done they could truly focus on the matters that were raised with this conversation.
“Will you be heading to the throne room, then?” he asked as he tried to switch his mind over to the task at hand. “I can gather the advisers and important courtiers without much delay.” There was much to do and the public would have to be brought into it before long, but starting small would have its benefits. “There is no reason to treat this as a hostile takeover, at least not for now. Most will bow for you at the simple fact that Odin is dead and you are his eldest child, which they will believe if I stand aside for you to take the throne.” His power-hungry reputation would finally work in his favor for once.
{ as of now, i’m on a semi-hiatus until the 26th! happy holidays! }
helheimrulcr:
That was fair, she had never really been given much of a chance to be a mother. She was glad she could at least tell him all the truths Odin had kept from him. “Better to know the harsh truth than be blinded by a kind lie.” She merely responded. That was how she’d always seen it anyway, when it came to important matters such as this. Maybe if Odin had followed those words, none of this would have happened. Well, then again she would of had to of been raised differently as well.
Loki nodded his agreement. “Truer words were never spoken.” With that, he fell silent once more and glanced down at his hands. The wheels in his mind were not only turning, they were spinning wildly out of control. “What now?” Where should we start? He is not sure if he is talking about Asgard and her rule or their relationship, but it hardly matters. Either option is equally shrouded for him and only Hela will be able to clear it.

Had he? It must have slipped her mind amidst he chaos, although it makes perfect sense. “I didn’t think you cruel at all.” Svava says, getting to her feet unaided, too spooked to look at him, let alone touch him. There’s little to be done about her pride now, so she aims for unaffected. Chin lifted, she meets his gaze briefly, but lingers, caught by the color. Were she one for poetics, she might even call them mesmerizing. “I did not mean to intrude.”
“You meant to snoop,” he reminds her kindly. “There is nothing dangerous for you to find, so there is no harm in it, but that is what you were doing.” While their eyes are still meeting, Loki shifts back to his Jotun form to stay warm. His eyes are eclipsed by red as blue creeps over his skin once more. “Are you hungry, Lady Svava? Dinner should be ready before long. There will be an extra serving for you tonight.”
helheimrulcr:
Of course that would be the one thing he chose not to lie about. Sighing again, her head shook some, not quite sure what else to say. Though, hearing his second statement, she blinked a little and finally looked back up at him. “Really, you think I’m decent?” Her tone was more amazed than anything else. She hadn’t even been there like she’d been planning on, and he still thought she was alright?
Loki glanced over at her and sat up straight again. “Yes, of course. You have done nothing to make me think otherwise. It is not your fault that Odin locked you up for my entire childhood.” Which now seemed doubly cruel, given that the Allfather was keeping her away from her own child while he neglected and ignored Loki for so long. “At least you didn’t lie to me about it. I may not enjoy the realizations this is bringing, but I would rather know than go on in ignorance.”
