Can’t believe it’s been 10 YEARS, since the finale aired. Seems like just yesterday I sat down to watch it as it aired. I kinda wanted to do something more grand for the anniversary but at least I made something for it. More of my thoughts and being super sappy under the cut:
I’ve talked about this from time-to-time but to give backstory on how I got to this point, Gravity Falls seemed to come into my life when I needed it most. I was at a point in my life where I felt lost and stuck. Life for me felt pointless at one point and I had nothing to my name. Hell, even art, although I didn’t get serious with it until it felt a bit too late at that point, didn’t hold weight. Art felt like the only thing I was somewhat good at and it was during 2015 that I lost spark with it and felt like a failure and not even worth saving. It wasn’t until that same year near the very end of it, is when Gravity Falls came down and blessed me with a second chance. It’s a blur on how exactly I got more serious with it, but it’s probably when I started drawing these characters in my notebook while in class. And at that point, I actually liked living again. Now that’s not to say I haven’t struggled in between the 10 years I’ve been drawing for this fandom. I’ve been in states of: “what’s the point?” and thinking maybe life was pointless after all. But even still, Gravity Falls and its characters always pulled me back out of that despair and reminded and pushed me to keep going.
I know there will come a point where my love for this show will die down significantly but truthfully right now, I owe these characters too much to quit on them. This show is the reason I found out I was aroace after feeling broken for so long and making me the person I am. I’ll always be bitter that I never got into it when the show first aired but I’m grateful when I did regardless of the time. I still struggle with self-worth because truthfully, I’m not really good at anything lol. But I hope for the 10 years I’ve been drawing for this fandom, I made an impact in someone’s life. I’ve still got a lot of spark in me to keep creating art for this show. So many comic ideas, one-off drawings, maybe some animations and animatics, and a lot more themes to dress the Pines in haha XD

I know you’ll probably never see this but thank you for sharing this wonderful world and your characters. Thank you for saving this artist’s life. Even if there’s a small chance you’ve seen some of my art, I hope I did these characters justice and I hope I made you proud.
In comments you said that Spamton (post-neo) had the mask

He wear the mask like the clothes or it's something become to part of his body?
For my Spamton, he still got his face and body under the mask and the puppets parts. It kinda become like a annoying and restrictive exoskeleton. It stick to him. He can't take it off, and if he tried it's like ripping its skin off.
The reason why he was freaking out in this old concept drawing:
the next comics I wanted to make would have explained why/how Spamton and Tenna would have split off and so, how Spamton ended up as a "Puppet". Because there is so much more behind all of this mask.
But since my obsession on them is sliding away, might as well infodump EVERYTHING.
Spamton became a puppet because of Tenna's contract.
Tenna didn't know it would do that and Spamton didn't realise it at first.
For my story, I worked with the concept of the dark world and its objects. Every darkner are an objects from the light world and is tied to its dark world, or they turn to stone as you know.
YET, Spamton managed to be quite present in TV world despite this logic. In my headcanon, the deal he had with Friend/Mike, gave him this loophole to be able to travel between dark world without consequence.
Friend/Mike seems very interested in playing with crossing not only OUR world (Jevil) but also the dark/light world (Spamton). But, I don't know if they wanted something from Spamton other than being their lab mouse. But how far does the loophole go? No one really know? But Friend/Mike did told Tenna to not make Spamton sign the contract, probably because the contract would be playing with the rules of their world.
Like I said, they are object from the real world. They got a role out of this. Spamton is a spam mail, but managed to be a mailman, a advertiser. That is still close enough as a spam mail in my opinion. But if that spam mail becomes MORE? What if they become equal to A LORD, A TV? It shouldn't be. But he was already doing it. (Hello Tenna's censors on Spamton in the Couch animation.)
So, when Tenna still got spamton to sign the contract, it was like rewritting his existence/being. Spamton didn't fully sign the contract tho. He got interupted by Mike's phone call telling him that it would doom him if he signed and Tenna knew about it. Which Spamton believed because Tenna was becoming more worry and parano about being abandoned. Plus, he's destined to die. But if Spam also become Lord, would he share Tenna's fate? He panicked and ran away. But the damage has been half done and never managed to come back to Tenna to clear things out or to destroy the half signed contract. Friend/Mike broke his connection with Spamton and Tenna after that.
But after chapter 3, TV is erased, and so is the contract. Spamton is free. There's no TV LORD, no hierarchy, no rules, they just exist now.
Sorry for the brick, I hope it will find its audience. It probably doesn't make much sense at the end, Im aware I probably sound crazy. I am crazy tho. But I found it enough solid for my lore.
