"Is that meant to make me feel any better?" he replied, shivering again as another cold breeze went past. He glanced back down to the envelope in his hands, tightening his hold on it as his brother spoke. "And why would I want to be an arrogant, spoilt, idiotic child like you?" Loki replied, glaring over to Thor. He wasn’t going to get away with that, Loki was going to make sure of it.

"Yes, it is," Thor replied simply, grinning at Loki a little. He followed Loki's gaze down to the envelope, before glancing back up at his face. "Why wouldn't you?" He asked, grinning a little more. "Seriously though, just open the envelope. Read it," he said, looking down at the envelope in Loki's hands again.

"I was perfectly fine before you tried to drown me," he told him, his hands fumbling inside his pocket for his wand. "Not everything is about you, Thor” Loki stated, silently casting a spell over them both to dry themselves off with a flick of his wand. The younger sibling stepped forward and took the envelope out of his hand; with a tap of his wand, it also was dry. “I feel lucky already,” he said sarcastically, glancing down to the letter. “Actually, I do not know. Well…presumably to do with Gabriel and I being caught by Holmes. Another lecturing to do as I’m told and act more like you,"

"Loki. if I had wanted to drown you, I would have," he replied with a small shrug. "You should do," he said. He pulled his hand away as Loki took the envelope, shoving his hands in his pockets as he listened to his brother speak. "Well, if you don't know, why don't you actually read it," he said. "Well your life would be going a lot more smoothly if you acted like me. I mean look at me, I'm great," he replied with a small smirk.

"We’ll see," he said. He would find out who the spy was, even if it took him all year. A rat always squeaks, he thought. “Yes, I do,” he told him, starting to shiver as a cold breeze brushed past them. “If I fall ill because of yo-Hey!” Loki shouted as Thor pulled the envelope out of his hands. Brother or not, Thor was starting to push him over the line. “No. It is from father. Now give me it back before I set you on fire again,” he warned, his eyes not wavering from the letter.

"Getting cold there, kiddo? Maybe you should get back to bed," he said as he noticed Loki shiver. "Oh? What's it about? Why is it such a big secret that I can't know about it?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at his brother. "Alright, alright. Keep your knickers on Loki," he said, rolling his eyes and glancing down at the envelope in his hand before holding it out to Loki again. "You're lucky I'm in a good mood," he said. "So what is it about?" He asked.

"Oh did they? And who was this certain someone?" Loki was going to make sure that they paid for tattling on him to his brother. They couldn’t just deal with their damn own business, oh noooo. "Wai-" it was too late to stop himself, he was already under the water. He gasped for air as he stood up, his whole body drenched in the cold, murky water of the lake. "I hate you," Loki glared, pushing his brother out of the way and making his way out of the water. He ran a hand through his soaking wet hair, brushing it back before realising he had the letter in his pocket. "No no no" he said, taking the dropping envelope out of his pocket. "Thanks Thor"

"That's none of your concern," he replied simply, knowing Loki wouldn't let them get away unpunished if he told him who it was. He laughed as he watched his brother fall into the lake, smirking at him as he made his way out of the water, stumbling backwards a little as he pushed him out of the way. "No you don't," he replied with a small grin, walking over to Loki again. "What's that? Love letter?" He asked, grinning at Loki before pulling the envelope out of his hands.

Sighing, Mycroft gestured towards the castle again, his eyebrow still raised. "Willing to test your chances? Or are you waiting for me to escort you inside?" He stared down at Thor, keeping his gaze steely.

"Well..." Thor began, about to say something that would probably land him in a hell of a lot of trouble before thinking slightly better of it. "I suppose it would be warmer inside," he said after a moment. "You'd better make it quick though. I could do with getting a bit more sleep," he said, waiting for Mycroft to start heading back to the castle.

Mycroft nodded, uncrossing his arms once Thor was completely dressed.

"And ‘being productive’ meant swimming?" He let out a breath of air before gesturing back towards the castle. "Let’s continue this…conversation inside, shall we?" He raised an eyebrow as he looked at Thor, daring him to argue.

"For me, yes it did. Better than taking my boredom elsewhere, isn't it?" Thor asked, running a hand through his wet hair as Mycroft spoke. "Really? It's such a lovely night, wouldn't you prefer to stay out here and chat?" He asked with a small grin

Mycroft raised an eyebrow as he emerged from the water, keeping the rest of his face impassive as he got dressed.

"Delighted" His voice was it’s usual monotone as he looked the teen up and down. "Care to explain why you happen to be out here, past curfew?” His voice was dripping with disdain.

"Couldn't sleep," he replied simply, shrugging as he finished getting dressed, looking at the professor for a moment. "And I felt that rather than disturbing any of the other sleeping students around me it would be best to do something productive," he replied, knowing it was a very weak argument but it was the only thing he could come up with on the spot. In all truth the answer was very simple, he was bored.

"Informed? Keeping tabs on me now? You are getting as bad as father," the Slytherin commented, shuffling on his feet. A burst of laughter escaped his lips as Thor began desperately trying to put out the fire, eventually ending up having to run back into the lake. "You do know you are meant to go swimming without your clothes on, brother,” Loki continued to mock as he began walking toward him, stopping at where the water ended.

"No, someone just happened to think I might find the information interesting," he replied, shrugging a little again. He rolled his eyes at Loki's comment, shaking his head a little as he walked to the water's edge beside him. "Ah but going swimming with clothes on works just as well. Try it," he replied with a smirk, grabbing Loki by the shoulder and pushing him into the water, trying to make sure that he didn't hurt him. "See?" He grinned.

Mycroft had wandered out towards the lake during his round of patrolling the castle, checking that all was well. The motions of someone in the lake gained his attention and he slowly wandered down, wand out in front of him as he went. Getting closer to the edge of the lake, he looked down at the clothes in a pile at his feet, stowing away his wand. “Hm” He watched the figure continue swimming, crossing his arm as they called out to him, remaining stoic and silent.

Thor frowned as they didn't respond, heading back to the shore and getting out of the water. He stopped for a moment as he was able to see who it was, wearing only a pair of dripping wet boxer shorts. He approached the professor, bending down and grabbing his clothes before starting to put them back on. "Ah, professor Holmes, always a pleasure," he said, acting as though being out here in the middle of the night was no big deal.

Loki sighed and rolled his eyes, crossing his arms as Thor started to dress himself. “Hilarious,” he replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm. He glanced back over to the castle, making sure that there were no flickers of light making their way toward them. “Did father owl you?” he asked, watching as Thor picked up his wand. It truly was a rare sight to see his brother perform magic and succeed. Loki grinned for a moment before pulling out his own wand, pointing it to the bottom of his brother’s trousers. “You missed a spot. Incendio," he muttered, making the edges of his trousers catch fire. "Oh dear. Well, at least you’re dry now" he mocked, putting his wand away and watching as the flames grew.

"I know," he replied, grinning a little. "Yes, but by the time I got the message, I already knew anyway. A boy from your house informed me of it," he replied with a small shrug. Thor glanced down as his brother set the bottom of his trousers alight, making a poor attempt to put it out before groaning and dashing back to the lake and dipping his leg in order to put the flames out. He turned back to Loki, glaring at him a little. "You are such a pest sometimes," he muttered, shaking his head.

Another sleepless night and another one where Gabriel was actually asleep only left Loki with a few options. He could stay in his dormitory and try and attempt to sleep which he knew was pointless, or he could plan for an event him and Gabriel were doing later on in the week. But again that was tricky, especially after being caught by Holmes ending with him and Gabriel in detention, a talking from the headmaster and a letter from his father. Not that he’d opened it. He didn’t want to. He didn’t want to be reminded of what a failure he was, or how much he wasn’t going to live up to Thor. Getting out of bed, Loki quickly changed into something more comfortable and continued to stare at the letter, still untouched on his windowsill. After a moments hesitation, he leant down and placed it into his pocket. He knew he had to read it some time, even if he didn’t want to and he knew that if he left unguarded then someone was bound to take it. That was the thing about Slytherins. You couldn’t trust them.

Loki didn’t know where his feet were taking him but he ended up outside of the castle, walking along the lake. He stopped though, when he came across a pile of clothes. He bent down and picked up the recognisable Gryffindor jumper then glanced round to notice footprints heading toward the lake. He stood back up as he saw movement, an outline of a body moving toward the shore. That voice. “Hello” he replied, throwing the jumper at his brother as he entered out of the water.

Thor frowned a little as he stepped out of the water, trying to see who it was standing there. He grabbed the jumper as Loki threw it to him, slipping it on, not bothered by the fact that he was still dripping wet. He ran a hand through his hair, walking up to Loki and raising an eyebrow at him. "What're you doing out here at this time of night? You don't want to be getting caught again, do you?" He asked with a small smirk, grabbing his trousers and slipping them on before picking his wand up and casting a quick spell to dry himself off before looking back up at Loki, waiting for his response.

Thor is the eldest son of Odin, Minister of Magic and due to this he received whatever he wanted whenever he asked for it and was hardly punished for acting out unlike his younger brother Loki. This resulted in Thor growing up to be arrogant and rude and always looking for trouble with his friends which usually ended up with Loki getting the blame. Even though the older Odinson means well, he can be selfish and often let his anger cloud his judgement. 

Thor always had a strange relationship with his brother, he loved him, no one could change that, after all Loki was the only brother he had. Not to mention he was his younger brother. Someone who looked up to him. Thor found this fun at first but overtime grew tired of his brother’s constant trailing around after him and after his friend’s persuasion, often left his brother behind, even letting his friends deal with him. 

At Hogwarts, Thor was placed into Gryffindor, like his father and his father before him and so on. Though he struggles with study, he makes up for this by playing Quidditch, a sport he has excelled in, much to the delight of his father. Thor is one of the ‘popular' kids at school, everyone knows who he is and everyone knows who his father is, one of the reasons why he’s so popular.

Thor felt the cold water of the lake crash against his body. It was practically pitch black, apart from the dull glow of the moon which twinkled on the surface of the water. He pushed himself through the water, heading towards the shoreline. He stopped as he felt his feet brush against the pebbles and looked up to where he’d left his belongings. There was someone stood there, watching him, though he couldn’t tell who it was. “Hello?” He called.
