I’ve been feeling so disillusioned with digital art online that I took a step back to return to my roots and do traditional art again.

Right pages are done with alcohol marker and left pages are done with acrylic marker to cover up the bleed!

The bases on this post are all JPEGs for some reason. That makes them hard to use properly. I will link to the originals and provide some additional ones, along with a tutorial on how to actually make them into a GIF.

I couldn't find the caramelldansen base in this post, but here is a version that should work just as well.

To save these and have them be usable, you have to click the "free download" button underneath the image.

How to make them into a GIF:

Step 1. Edit the base however you like (I used MSPaint)

Step 2: Crop and save each frame individually as PNGs (Note for the lick base: It's best to crop them to include the black boarder. This makes the GIF 50x50, which is the standard DeviantArt icon size and can easily scale larger if need be.)

Step 3: Go to ezgif.com/maker and upload all your frames

Step 4: Set "delay time" to 10, then click "Make a GIF!"

Step 5: Right-click the result and save it. Congrats! You used a GIF base!

Girlie was obviously trying so hard, even when Rumi kept dropping the ball last minute, she didn’t complain she IMMEDIATELY went right to “okay that’s fine! let’s find another solution!” ONLY to get brushed off over and over again 😭

I mean, Rumi never ended up drinking the “tonics” that she recommended, and with her being the main lyricist she probably felt like it was her fault Rumi hated the lyrics, but even after all that she never got mad at Rumi and I REALLY FELT HER

Trying so hard to be positive and to help out but it doesn’t actually end up being useful at all, and instead you’re just being a pain in the ass by causing more problems 😭😭😭

Also, in light of recent events that shook the animal rescue scene (rest in peace Mikayla Raines, when I heard the news I bawled) I’ve been thinking of making a video discussing the toxicity of animal rescue culture

A lot of people I know, myself included, had to take a step back for our own sakes. This isn’t an isolated incident. It’s a problem with rescuers all over the world.

I’ve been meaning to revive my YouTube channel anyways so if you guys have any stories to share about your experiences, do feel free to let me know

It may seem counterintuitive for many—like how is it possible for volunteers and advocates to be so cruel when they are supposedly dedicated to being the opposite? But after having done this for a few years I have some theories as to why

If you guys are interested, I made a longform video about my experience running a cat shelter irl for about 1.5 years until we were forced to close due to the government reclaiming the land we were using, but during that time we were able to rehome about 50 cats. I touch briefly on the problems we faced but I’d like to go more in-depth this time around.

realised recently that as a kid, what i thought was me “making friends” with animals was less making friends and more being babysat because

wdym a fully grown adult swan and adult emu let me follow them around like a little lost duckling and let me pet them 😭

granted they were raised around humans but that doesn’t mean they don’t have the capacity to be feisty as birds usually are

yet here they were, eating so gently off my hand to make sure they didn’t accidentally bite me, and humouring me by approaching whenever i called, and the emu even took me on a slow walk around the park while i held onto his feathers (same guy stole my mom’s hat and ran off with it but didn’t touch anything of mine lol)

it’s been almost two decades and i still miss them 🥺
