Lupe naps tucked into Jess’s neck/shoulder head first to the point Jess worries she’ll suffocate. Lupe gets grouchy if Jess disturbs her by wiggling but it’s not her fault Lupe is snuffling and rubbing her hair all over her when she knows she’s ticklish there. She suspects Lupe is half awake and doing it on purpose anyway 😒. Anyway Jess scritchy scratches the back of Lupe’s neck to make her head pop up and her face is all red cos she’s got herself too warm being hidden away

She pops up looking positively rumpled, there’s a tiny imprint of Jess’ chain on her chin and her hair is messy but she’s got a soft redness about her face bc she was tucked SOO close to Jess and Jess smiles at her a bit when she takes her in and goes “You’re tickling me, Lu” and Lupe just mumbles “man up” and tries to go back in to fall back asleep

Jesslupe headcanons part II: Things I think definitely happened

They made up an excuse to get out of the group outing to have the house to themselves, except Esti is in on it (because that’s less questionable, right?) and says “I just don’t want to hear you” Lupe can’t face Esti after and makes Jess go downstairs first

I love the friends-with-benefits to lovers trope for them and I think if anyone didn’t know they were together (ie Carson finds out and is surprised they’ve been sleeping together this whole time) they’d 100% be like “duh” in a “of course f*ck, why wouldn’t we??” very confident like we’re both hot ??kind of way. Very reminiscent of the og bar scene.

When they first get together, they both assume the other will top.

Greta would 100% play off any of their shenanigans. Like, they’re f*cking in Jess’s room, and when they hear someone Lupe hides under the sheets. When Greta comes in she acts like nothings weird, but then says bye to both of them on her way out.

This has been said before but it was definitely them fucking with all of Carson and Greta’s hiding spots.

Headcanons for the jesslupe drought:

I think Jess has a vibrant and diverse sex life. I know y’all love the stone butch life for Jess but the way Kelly described moose jaw I think Jess would be more open than Lupe.

Jess binds!! It def looks like it to me at least so I say it’s real and I don’t see it enough in fic / chats.

Jess also uses varying pronouns (per Kelly) I think talking about Jess in abstract or modern setting is def they/them but 40s ofc uses she/her.

Greta is supposed to be a bit of a villain. I loveee Jess and her as roommate and want to know more about that. Jess is so emotionally in touch and knows so much so I wonder what she thinks of Greta.

Jess would absolutely make the first move w Lupe (as confirmed by writers tweets).

They def went to New York but I think Jess would bring Lupe to moose jaw. Lupe would not bring Jess to Texas.

Kelly talks about Jess going though a gender crisis and I don’t think that gets talked about enough… like they’ve never had to think about it and now they do and are thinking more about how they present. Things like binding/packing and even dresses are questions. I think it’s clear from how much variety we get with Jess’s wardrobe compared to everyone else.

obv my answer is always gonna be jess (Kelly’s 40 page character dossier HELLO?!) and lu (though i feel like we did get backstory for her)

BUT my most recent watch through has confirmed for me that jo is the most underwritten/underdeveloped major character, which sucks :/

and so much of the emotion of the season falls on that character! and it works for me bc i love them all with every fiber of my being, but i feel like jo’s whole arc could have been SO much more moving if she was more three-dimensional
