Went to Macrossworld con this weekend as Kaname and LOOK WHO ELSE WAS THERE!!!! Messer-kun <3 <3 <3!!!!! I was sooooo excited <3 <3!!! I bee-lined straight over there and was like “PLEASE TAKE A PICTURE WITH ME”. Thankfully there was no Keith around :P!

Macross Elysium: Kinetic Edition

I said I would post this on the 25th, but the prospect of outside influences have prompted me to post it early. I present to you all, the first look at the motion comic of Macross Elysium; The Kinetic Edition.

First time working with artificial snow for a diorama. Lemme know what you guys think! About the Model: "Fighter Squadron Composite 13" aka, "The Saints" was an aggressor squadron in the UN Navy during the Unification wars. VFC-13, one of the first VF-1 Valkyrie equipped squadrons, had the duty of posing as enemy aircraft to train UN Navy, Air Force and Spacy pilots in anti-variable fighter tactics. In early 2009, despite the collapse of the organized Anti-Unification Forces, small former Soviet block groups still continued waging war in remote parts of the globe. Thule AFB in Greenland was consistantly being attacked by remnant AUN MiGs and variable fighters. Being one of the few active squadrons with the new VF-1, VFC-13 was transferred to Thule in an attempt to fight off the enemy on equal terms. Despite now being a standard combat squadron, The Saints retained their aggressor markings of old as a traditional gesture. The threat of off shore submersible carriers was the main looming problem for the small UN base, so it was decided to equip VFC-13 with converted AIM-54 Phoenix missiles with reaction warheads to act as anti-ship weaponry. For close in air to air combat, the Valkyries were equipped with AIM-9L/M Sidewinder missiles which fared better in icy conditions compared to their newer counterparts, the HMM-1 Micro Missiles. Here we see a VF-1A, Serial Number 761541, preparing for launch in horrendous weather conditions. It's armed with the standard loadout of a GU-11 Gun Pod, two AIM-54R Super Phoenix missiles, and two AIM-9M Sidewinders. Snow has built up on much of the aircraft in little time, and if an attack weren't imminent, there is no doubt that all flights would be grounded.

I redesigned the fighter from Galaga! Since Ace Combat was added to the Namco UGSF timeline along with Galaga, my favorite old-school arcade game, I decided to redesign the Galaga fighter to fit into the aesthetics of Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere in a realistic blueprint.
