Revisiting Jordan's design after seeing the new eyebrows revealed in the latest Splatoon 3 New Year's teaser!

A piece I made in 2019 for a Splatoon zine called "Splashback", which was a zine to celebrate those Splatoon 1 memories! The theme I chose was "Ancho-Games", so naturally I went for an NES-vibe, featuring the Vid-Squids!! I had a lot of fun packing a bunch of NES game references/visuals in here.

(Plus a fake Miiverse post that went along with it- only '90s squids will remember...)

I haven't drawn my squids in a while, since I've been working on taking my characters in a different direction. BUT I've drawn their squid forms from time to time, so here are some little doodles from throughout 2020.

A late Team Time-Travel piece!... This Splatfest gave me an excuse to revisit this crossover haha 

(I know I’ve said it bunch, but Marty McFly was a big inspiration for Austin when I made him all those years ago )

Austin's girlfriend seems a bit overbearing. I hope that's not always the case. Otherwise, why are they together?

She can be overbearing, but it’s mainly because she’s spoiled and has high-standards!… They do have fun and like to go out dancing together, but Naomi’s life revolves around her modeling career, which makes Austin have to reschedule dates or tag along on her appointments more often than not. Even then, Austin is constantly reminded by others how “lucky” he is to be dating her, so it’s worth it, right?...

But she does have a habit of trying and “correct” things she doesn’t like, and makes it very clear when she doesn’t approve of something Austin is doing (either at that moment, or just life in general). One of those things happens to be him being on the Vid-Squids, so…

Splatoon OC Creators: Describe your OC in the worst way possible without naming them!

Honestly..... if I was in the splatoon world and saw your Oc(Jordan) I would immediatly think they are a girl.... like those lips aren't fooling me!!

Good  point… when I originally designed her and her story in 2016, I did try to make her look more boy-ish! Like so:

Buuuuut I’m not sure what happened after that, where I started to make her look more feminine. (it was probably done in my efforts to make my characters’ faces distinct) I also have a bad habit of wanting to fluff out my drawings, but I think in this case, it’s taking away from her character/context!…. I should probably redesign her to look similar to her original look.
