backstory
hey guys quick ooc post here. i have been having trouble with keeping up with r his blog due to mental health and scheduling. i love love love what you guys have sent me in my inbox-
(I HAVE PIECES OF ART IN THERE THAT I DESPERATELY WANT TO DRAW SOMETHING FOR BECAUSE I FEAR MY WORDS ARENT SUFFICIENT FOR THEIR INCREDIBLE PRESENCE)-
and I haven’t been keeping up with sky recently. but- once I finish my community service and coursework prep… I’m back for good.
My friend and I did the wasteland elder room OOB, but she started the cutscene again while I was already in the room, and I got this beautiful screenshot;
Ballerina Tsadi. You’re welcome.
@the-wasteland-elder didn't know ya got moves like that
Child, I am groovin’.
Spikey sniffs the Elder, before sneezing and making his merry way to their shoulder, where he calmly curls up and lies down
Tsere: Awh, looks like he's taken a liking to you!
Spikey then places his head on their shoulder, he looks drowsy
Tsere: It's not every day a tiny Dark Dragon is so friendly to you, now is it?
Tsere: ...Honestly? Wish not pretty much everyone was so scared of darkness, I know technically I'm still a light creature, but darkness isn't half bad when you come to understand it, it's just... A different side of the same coin y'know?
Tsere: It's harmful to us, but we're also harmful to them, without darkness there wouldn't be light and without light there wouldn't be darkness... I just really wish dark creatures, artificial or not, were treated better at times... It's all about balance
Tsere: ...But that's a rabbithole in and of itself, I've lived among them for so long i might be biased, i dunno at this point...
Tsere: ...Anyhow! Was becoming an Elder your dream and did you have any other dreams?
// Fun fact! long time ago i dug in the game's Sound Effect files on PC, unpacked them and i found out that Lurkers (days of nature wormies, their internal name) have a sound effect "LurkerMunchKiss" which is literally just them "sucking" light outta ya, they kiss you they mean no harm :(( personally i hc they leave the ground and dance around before snatching you because that's their threat display, they tell you to leave cuz ya spooked them and if ya don't listen they MAKE you leave them be (aka throw you into the stratosphere), but that's just something i wanted to mention, not all dark creatures are mean just because :D
Spikey’s touch melts something in Tsadi. Something long standing, that assumption of the destructive nature of Krills.
Maybe you aren’t all that bad, eh? Not every day is certainly correct.
Dark and Light, one can’t exist without the other… balance. This, Tsere, certainly intrigues me, it makes sense in retrospect. I always was under the assumption that the balance could be shifted. They had tried. Though, when pressing in with too much Light, the Dark pushes back with that same force in other ways. Reactionary, not to be blamed.
Being an Elder was certainly an aspiration for what feels like the longest time. It was the greatest service one could do for their people, whether they were born into the role or inherited it. My ascension was unorthodox in that it was for leading security rather than leading growth, quite wise of the Megabird considering what would eventually befall us.
Oh... I couldn't agree more.. I'm sorry that I touch you so painfully..
Do you have such moments when suddenly you experience a memory as in reality and it was very scary and painful? How do you experience them and try to get rid of it?
I have a slightly unexpected question. Would you mind if I tried to sit next to you?
Flashbacks tend to be common for me, but you have been so kind to me, and I’m strong enough to handle them. My grief, my guilt, eventually it all must subside, right?
Though… I wouldn’t mind some company
Tsere appears quite confused by the Elder's initial reaction and how they're threading carefully with their vocab, he then realises why and pats the Dark Dragon
Tsere: Oh, don't worry about him, this is just Spikey, long story but the gist of it is that around 7 years ago he was abandoned by his parents due to being a runt, i've been raising him ever since, he's no real threat unless you're his size or smaller, only then his primal instincts kick in
Tsere: And even then, he's not that hard to control even if they DO kick in...
Tsere: Anyhow, hmm, actually, do you have a favorite color? Oh! And do you like plants?- I love them myself but... If i started speaking about that in depth, we'd probably be here till tomorrow, hah...
Spikey starts playing with Tsere's hair as the conversation keeps on going
Tsere: Actually, have you had any hobbies? How did you spend your free time?
Tsere: Did you also have any non-Elder friends? And did Elder duties still allow you to hang out with them?
Spikey quickly grows bored of even that, gets up and slowly flies up to the Elder, he seems unsure and cautious of them
Tsere: Oh! You wanna ask something yourself Spikey?
Oh well, I’m particularly found of purple! I hear it’s more common around my realm now and I enjoyed seeing the market place dye merchants sell bright and vivid shades… I’ve always loved flowers as well, Bloom was always my favorite series of Days…
The Elder watches Spikey slowly rise towards them. Cautious and curious, the Elder sits down to allow him closer.
Hobbies, yes. I used to spar, but I’ve recently filled my days watching memories that Sky Kids leave behind in Orbit.
I’m particularly close with the denizens that Mae up my constellation, they’re able to join me at both my temple and Orbit. Sneaky Survivor and Fainting Warrior do play hide and…
Spikey has finally made his way to the Elder and they both freeze there for a beat, the Elder stuck on their sentence as the tiny Dark Dragon hovers.
The fact that you enjoyed your training and were able to communicate well with some of the soldiers is wonderful. I hope you weren't hurt too much by your attachment to them...
I remembered a soldier who had a plant associated with something very important, and it makes me sad... Oh, okay... I need to change the topic of conversation a little... Lamed once told some Skykids a one warrior(How amazingly they did it...), Scarred Sentry.. Some Skykids think that you are in the past..
Do you know about Scarred Sentry? Or maybe you really are? Personally, I think you are different individuals, since Scarred Sentry has a separate soul that has already been sent into Orbit.
By the way, some of us may forget our purpose, and I'm kind of very sad about it. So... I'm sincerely glad that you appreciate our support and help.
It hurt. If not for the fact I lost them, then the fact that I ended up hurting them too.
The Scarred Sentry and I may have been the same person once, though I don’t know much from before joining the Elders. From their memories that I see you all collect their gift from in orbit, they are much smaller than I, but I can see the resemblance. Tiny Tsadi… tiny warrior… strong and brave.
In turn, I’m grateful for your light as well.
I like that you have something really good in your memories. And you're really trying to give back something good. I think that you are really learning from mistakes, which can be very encouraging.
If I get into Orbit, then this is a great reason for me to take a deep breath, to talk to myself first of all. After all, Orbit is a special place for all of us. But I usually stay there for a long time. So to speak, I really like to train my thoughts.
How do you feel about your physical training? Did you like them, were they neutral or tolerant? Was there a desire to share your experience with someone?
What do you think? Did Scientists and Scholars from Vault harm more or help to the world?
I can quite understand you. The most important thing is that you can be aware of your envy and not harm others because of it.
We cannot fully share the ground with flowers in spaces, but we can use decorative flowers in pots. But in any case, it is very pleasant and touching to hear that we are really useful.
Thank you, remembering the best is important, there’s a good chunk of my life to be otherwise blinded by. Orbit is a great place to do that as well.
Physical training was, for a long time, my only outlet. I got to work with the guards who had become my friends and we fought together until the end. I loved my physical training.
I think they must’ve helped at least a little bit, right?
Your understanding is wonderful. I love the decorative pots and flowers, you are not just useful, you are the next generation, you are those who learn from our mistakes. You don’t need to be useful, you all are learning.
Wow... I didn't think you'd be very friendly. It's unexpected, but very pleasant.
Thank you for your support. That's in a lot of places right now.
Speaking of Mega Bird. Have you ever met their? How did you feel when you met this creature?
The King of Krills... I've heard a lot of rumors about its creature, and I think I even saw it once from afar. Do you think the Elder of the Vault might also be involved in this?
You mentioned a cave with butterflies.. Is that where the Prairie is? Hm-m... Do you envy the Elder of Prairie that they has the most peaceful and clean places and communicates very well with both creatures of light, Ancestors and Skykids? I think it's very difficult for you to stay here and you personally would like to add more bright colors, freshness and a sense of security to your Temple.
I think it would be nice to turn to some Ancestors who could make your Temple a little more comfortable for a short time. I believe they will be happy to help you.
There’s not much left to do but try and make up for lost kindness, so I thank you for the compliment, I’ll treasure it.
I’ve never… met them per say. Though, there’s a dream when one becomes an elder. Not so much a form, but the brightness tha fills your mind’s eye is the brightness of looking into a friend’s eyes. The warmth one of a familiar hearth. The pull of a game between friends. To see the Megabird is vast in light, I have to imagine you all experience something similar when visiting us in Orbit, maybe not so much my temple.
One hundred percent, they often led the research that was conducted in their realm and mine. “As long as memories are preserved, we can take small steps towards something new.” Or… something along those lines. They never had a hand in Eden, though, so all darkness materials to been worked with were not of their faults.
I’d love a flower or two. It’s bright there, in the Prairie. Envious… probably the correct word for it indeed.
I’d love to see what sort of spaces you create with our areas. The Light knows we could use even more bright spaces, but that’s not to say that I don’t appreciate bringing life back to my realm via just your presence. All those little protectors out there! Truly heartwarming.
A sky child with a strange shaped helmet and a "black mass" sitting atop his shoulders approaches the elder
Tsere: Hello! I'm Tsere, I'm not from here, like at all.. But I've got a couple of questions for you!
A bright, large, cyan eye appears on the black mass and 2 horns raise, The black mass appears to have been a chibi-sized Dark Dragon all this time, the dragon stares at the elder in curiosity, tilting its head as it does so
Tsere: First of all, how are you? Anything noteworthy happened today? Secondly, I can't help but wonder... What do you think of us, y'know... Sky children, sent down by the Megabird herself to help your subordinates ascend... Actually, have any fallen down back when you were still... Alive?
Tsere: And what do you think about your realm being overrun by darkness? I've heard many complaining about Dark Dragons nesting there and personally I don't mind it, they're living beings aswell after all, just trying to survive just like the rest of us, but I wonder what's your opinion on the matter? I won't Judge.
Tsere: Last but not least for now, I've heard your relationship with the other Elders is quite stained but... If there was a point when...
The skykid seems disgruntled from simply trying to utter the title.
Tsere: The King. Wasn't yet around, have you ever been close to an Elder in particular, or would you say you were equally as close to all of them?
The star-dusted Elder jumps at the eye opening, reaching for a smaller weapon, but upon seeing no immediate danger, relaxes if only slightly.
A small… Hello, small one. Nothing too notable has happened today, visits here and there from Sky Kids asking me questions and asking me to teach them to style their hair like mine. Good day, considering it all.
Though, of all questions today, how I feel about Sky Children? Well, in short, I’m lucky to have not met another Megabird-sent other than… him… while still alive. I had heard a story of one… maybe two. One in the daylight lit field of the Prairie, and another in my outer walls. I do not know what happened to either… I apologize.
I miss the liveliness of the market. It was gradual, the darkness, and it’s a melancholy horror knowing I failed on the day the dam broke. I couldn’t protect the Vault, my main perogative, from the…

first Dark Dragons. A couple of the older ones still hurt those in my realm, so I’m predisposed to… having distaste for them.
He’s weighing his words carefully around the tiny baby dragon.
I suppose. I was close with Daleth and found company in Sahmekh. Daleth was so… kind, and the twins were always down to spar if for only the entertainment of their people.
jeez that drawing is so adorable.
In any case, I can understand your loneliness. As a rule, I'm ignored by other Skykids. Unfortunately, lately I've only met Skykids who only discuss things given by Ancestors(Spirits at the moment) and constantly grumble about something. They say that I'm stupid and weird because I'm not only interested in things and I don't really grumble. Nevertheless, whenever possible, I like to help newbies.
Have you ever helped anyone outside of your field? Have you ever helped light beings?
The Elder of the Forest, Teth... There're many Skykids who love their, except me. This Elder might have wished well for everyone, but unfortunately, they took advantage of it uncontrollably. But I'm even more afraid of their, because they really makes sudden movements and it's easy to put their in a bad mood. It feels like Teth hasn't really changed their views after this whole unfortunate disaster, and they's not going to change them... I still can't figure out how Teth was able to cope with the training of Nesting Guide... I wouldn't trust their with the task of parenting and training for sure.
By the way, did you have any quarrels with the Elder of the Forest? Do you have any suggestions about the origin of Krills?
Child, it does sadden me to hear your separation. You all are so small, and the world is so big, and the only thing you could really have is each other. To hear that your peers are stuck in the past with borrowed words… I’m almost certain that’s not what the Megabird would have wanted. Do not be afraid to carve your path, you hold a magnetism, and those who want to find you will.
I’ve freed so many mangas and denizens trapped, my field is saving others, after all, but I’ve never guided, nor shown gentle kindness. My field, both literal and metaphorical, are torn with struggle and the path of resilience.
I’d… have to agree. Teth is like me in that they don’t excel in interpersonality. They’re impulsive if it means innovation, reckless if it means reward. Though, I’d be a hypocrite to judge based on that.
With the Forest Elder, we’ve had our spats, but I feel, at least on my end, that there’s a kinship in having gone too far, and a divide from our time since then.
I’m not too perceptive, but there’s a large beast on my shores. You all know it well, the King Krill. Our researchers… found it? Made it? Either way, they locked it up. Whatever the Dark Dragons are, my generation is at fault for them.
Again, I’m hopeful that you find more friends. I’m learning that not all of you are too keen on branching out. I hear the butterfly caves are lovely every so often, if looking for quieter, more creative people. I wish you luck, dear Sky Kid.
Oh... I'm very interested in listening to you. It feels good, actually..
The fact that you were able to handle Krills is very good. Really a reason to be proud.
And... It's very sad that the King separated you and other Elders. But still, I would like to hope that gradually, over time, you can all communicate well again, as you did so many years ago.
Perhaps some of Skykids use their intrusive sounds to draw attention to ourselves and communicate something important. Perhaps they warned you that the Krills near your Temple had already woken up and were trying to attack. Or they like you and want you to start communication.
Personally, I have one Elder that I have a special affection for, but I don't think they'll pay attention to me, so I'm not trying to do that. I'm too shy for that.
As for you... When I first met you, I was very scared of what I was hiding from. It was only after a while that I figured out how to give you my light. Heh... It was very disturbing.
What about you? Have you ever been ignored when you tried to point out something important?
I’m glad you feel free to talk to me, it’s been a while since I was a confidant before I was a combatant.
We’re all growing it seems. In hindsight, the sky kid’s warning were obvious and I definitely should’ve been listening.
Me? I was ignored by one other Elder. I may have been dense, but Teth put so much into Darkstone. It hurt to watch them knowingly go deeper and listen to progress rather than preservation…
Heyo!! Lowk i wanted to interact with yo blog as my oc Tsere but, well, my goofy little gay parrot of a skykid is kind of a son of Tsadi, an adopted son but a son nonetheless (v long n complicated backstory n i don't wanna spam this ask with it but if ya wanna know i can write the most important deets down)
But before i interact as him i wanna know if it would be fine by ya? I'd prolly pull some "you're not my Tsadi" stuff (cuz yea different hc but i WILL say urs is very very close to mine!! :D) but i wanna ask juuuust in case if ya'd be fine if i interacted with your Tsadi as Tsere to avoid ya potentially gettin uncomfy or smth
Thanks in advance!! <3
Have you ever been able to handle Krills(Dark Dragons)?
What do you think? Is there any way you can contact other Elders in the future and reconnect with them?
Have you ever felt some kind of affection for someone, friendly or romantic, if you haven't forgotten?
What is your biggest disappointment?
Have you ever regretted becoming an Elder?
Could you have thought of physically hurting Skykids in any way? Why did this thought arise? (Even though I hope for a positive change in you, I'm still afraid of you...)
This is my proudest achievement, I was able to hold the Dark Dragons back single-handedly from my temple for a record amount of time! I even managed to remove one's light! Er- they don't really have any... I managed to hurt it. Though, Lamed imbued it with enough light to destabilize and get rid of it, I did down it!
I could talk to them if you all were able to summon us at once, though that's... a little intimidating if I'm honest with myself. I still let the King do what he wanted for far too long and didn't listen to the ones who were supposed to be my friends...
To say that I had a deep kinship with my fellow elders before the Prince passed his trials would be an understatement. We were disconnected, but we were friends and family. As for romance?
Hahhhh... I would never...
Despite all that l've done, my biggest disappointment is still when I slipped and fell onto someone else during battle in front of some of my more "respected" denizens. I am not a small creature of light, so I fear that they got banged up. I worked so hard to maintain grace after that.
I regret it all of the time.
Never! Okay, maybe once or twice... They kept honking at me and I didn't know what your language was yet! Or... maybe the time a sky kid first told me about the world after the Shattering killed me.
To hear about my realm, all of our realms, destroyed. I wanted the noises to stop, child. | learned, I never acted, but I wanted them to stop lying to me. Suffice to say, they were not lying.
Is anyone here? It's so lonely and scary in the Golden Wasteland... Wasteland Elder, are you here?
I'm still curious, Elder. Were you on the King's side or were you against it in your heart? Could you go against your residents? Did you punish residents or take more severe action against them? Since when did you realize that the King wasn't entirely right in their views? Why couldn't you take into account the opinions of other Elders regarding the use of the Dark Stone?
I really hope you've learned from your mistakes, as I'm sure you have the intelligence and sensitivity to do so. I'm sure you're perfectly capable of being good...
I fear that no one is here. Not for me, it’s cold, these lands, even if brighter with your light.
I… was. Child, I fear I did side with the King. He promised great things- helpful things. Promised innovation, promised speed, promised growth. I was one of the last to notice his greed and how it turned vindictive, despite the others’ warnings. Ayin and Daleth, they were always able to see better than I could
I’m certainly trying to do better. It’s not like rock bottom can go much deeper.
