[TABLEAUX] Freeze: Be Careful in Social Media, Please!
In collaboration with another group (check them out HERE!), the Weavers depicted through a tableaux presentation a negative effect of using social media.
We all know that being on social media is fun and entertaining, and you can express yourself well to other people. However, there are just times that people go overboard on sharing their information, even sharing the most private ones that may pose a threat on their safety.
Here, our Weaver Justin Brian is doing a make-up tutorial using the most expensive make-up and tools. He even goes as far as to post on his FaceBook a bundle of money, stating that all those money were to be used only for make-up.
Then he posts that he would be going to the rich boy Wenzel’s house for a house tour, sharing that Wenzel just got a new Ferrari.
And so they toured Wenzel’s house. During the tour, Justin Brian kept posting about the rare things he found in Wenzel’s house (like the toilet made out of gold!).
They had fun without a care in the world, unaware that there were evildoers who saw their every post, creeping up from behind.
Because of Justin Brian (and co)’s carelessness, they were brought to danger. The bandits attacked Wenzel’s home and caused harm and chaos.
We all know that people have their own style of using media. There are many types of media users and the Weavers are willing to share what type of media users they are!

[PHOTO STORY] What You See is Not Always What You Get
A tale of two who have kept their authenticity under a façade
Have you ever tried ordering an exquisitely beautiful dress online despite being short on money, got very excited waiting for it to arrive, only to be disappointed that the item handed at your doorstep was not identical to what was in the site you ordered it from? Yep, that happens a lot in online shopping, especially in shopping sites with bad reputation and low ratings.
However, are you aware that this kind of situation also happens when it comes to online dating? Believe it or not, it actually happens more frequently than you thought it would probably be. To give light to the rising trend, our team prepared a photo story depicting a couple who expected more than what they actually got. This short story tells us that what we see online is not always what we get.
Looking for love, two people met each other through a dating app called Tinder. Most of the time, first impressions are the most lasting and appearances are prioritized. Online, we create a mask that conceals our real identity. Wanting to be noticed, both of them become scenario liars and set other persons' photos as their display pictures. Everyone sees what you appear to be, but few experiences what you really are. Due to identity theft online, information is miscommunicated to another.
Initiative is the key for every conversation. A relationship begins with taking the initiative to communicate to another. No flower will grow unless you plant it. No bud will bloom unless you water it. They begin messaging each other and expressing themselves through the letters of the alphabet, and with the help of emoticons. Like Dance’s Model of Communication, communication is a helix that starts from the bottom, which is small, but as it moves and goes further, it gets bigger and broadens.
Words conveyed by mouth feels more intimate than those conveyed through text. There exists tone, accent, and raw feelings in their voice that just makes everything feel different. Talking is the phenomenon where smiles are heard and not necessarily seen. Text messaging may be a great form of communication, but it can brilliantly miscommunicate how you really feel, and it can cause you to misinterpret what the other person means.
People get disappointed when reality harshly devours their fantasies. Hope, but never expect. Look forward, but never wait. Both of their fantasies get shattered as they set a date to meet each other. But are appearances the only factor in the making of a person? Of course not. Communication plays an important role in this. Misunderstandings are made due to miscommunication of information. Learn to love without condition. Talk without bad intention. Give without any reason. And most of all, care for people without any expectation.
Trade your expectations for appreciation, and your whole world will change instantly. Distance sometimes lets you know who is worth keeping and who is worth letting go. Unsettled by the stop of their communication, the two gave in and started communicating again. This is the magic that communication casts on people. Once communication has begun, there is no way for it to be undone.
