Don't Deport Ali Choudhry

THIS IS IMPORTANT! Please sign and/or pass this on. Ali is facing deportation, back to a country where there is life imprisonment for being gay. He’s never lived in Pakistan and he doesn’t read the language. Ali Choudhry and Dr Matthew Hynd were one of the first gay couples in Queensland to register their civil union on 12 March, 2012. Unfortunately their union was short lived due to the Queensland Government retrospectively making the unions null and void 12 weeks after their ceremony. Nearly two years later Mr Choudhry now faces deportation to Pakistan after his application for a visa recognising his relationship with Dr Hynd was refused. He says he cannot understand why theirs is not considered a legitimate long-term partnership, and neither can I. Please help me build the public pressure urging Immigration Minister Scott Morrison to grant Ali a visa to remain in Australia.

Vermont Should Be Beautiful This Time of Year-- All that Snow.

The journey is made of a thousand ‘are we there yet’ s from her hoping driver, dashing smiles and turn of heads with the promises of a new scenario and a new continent  - and some refreshment, needed time for the restless couple and some cold – not that she’s a loyal fan of such weathers, bit extreme for what her slim silhouette is used to – but her excitement washes over her soft features nonetheless. But Rose, they soon find out can keep her behavior at bay if only to hide or keep to herself the manner of a five year old.

She laughs along the whole way – jaw falls open upon the heavens presented before her and never had she dreamed to know such a wonder that belongs to Earth – and Earth alone. Surprises herself just the same and scratches on the tender flesh of her lips. Stunned, out of her mind – she doesn’t deserve this luxury and can’t wrap her mind to believe what a price she’s got by the side of the half- Time Lord. A place stands before her – it’s torn from a fairytale and she might take the role of Gretel if her lover agrees to be Hansel. The sweetness is made between them both – damn witches to hell she came to rest and forget about the damnations she works with every day.

Time passes – hands twitch in excitement and anticipation, her grin remains throughout the whole journey it takes to get to know this new labyrinth – she’ll gladly get lost on that majestic piece of architecture! – and the nest that is about to become home for the next weeks is one that makes her insides burn with sparkling joy – the caramel in her eyes melts just the same and if the place wasn’t enough to charm her bones, the smirk on the Doctor’s face manages to finish the job. She flops on the nearest couch – listens and buries herself into a pillow, odd shapes and textures – it’s maple  what intoxicates and burns her nostrils – a muffled giggle and he kicks her shoes out.

“Somewhere that can remind me that – I’ve still got legs! 13 hours sitting in that bloody car? I’d rather like to go and run myself to death- thank you very much, ah! Something warm could do too. Hmmmhmmmm, are ya hungry? Are ya – how do ya have so much energy? Í have – do not at the same time. Jetlagged – it wasn’t like this when we had th’ TARDIS!” She chokes on her own giggles, rolls over – discovers her semblance, throws that square cushion at him – misses, but manages to land just next to the fireplace. Oops, first day – first five minutes and she was so close to burning the place down.

He had turned his back on the window's picturesque scene and strolled around the room in a fidgety state. He was amused at the excitement that was plain as day in her eyes. She was so full of energy and enthusiasm; always keeping up with his quick pace. He was mindful of how she still tired easier than he, but as a human, his own endurance was not quite what it had been before. Still, this didn't lessen his exuberance. Her next words were almost lost to him; he was too busy watching the way her eyes creased when she laughed or how she poked her tongue between her teeth as giggles overtook her. Snapping himself out of the stupor, he effortlessly dodged a cushion that came sailing through the air after him. He let out a laugh of his own when the feathery item nearly crashed into the fireplace. They had come here to avoid utter chaos, not create their own. Shaking his head, he leaned against the nearby wall and looked down at her. "There's certainly loads we can do to remind you that you've got legs," he chuckled, "As far as food goes, I can wait until dinner, but if you want to get something before we head out, then, by all means," he replied, gesturing to the door. "Personally, I'd love to get a better look at this place. Scope the area out, do as much as we can while the sun is still out, and then the night is all ours." He smiled broadly, standing straight again and peering down at her expectantly, like a dog trying to convince his owner to let him outside.

Vermont Should Be Beautiful This Time of Year-- All that Snow.

John couldn't sit still the entire drive. He was ridiculously charged with enthusiasm for this trip. They had been planning this for months and finally got off from work and were making it happen. They had debated on where to go, but had insisted on Vermont in America. There were very few places in the world that matched the excitement and relaxation of a ski lodge in the mountains of that state. He floored the car up the long winding driveway until they reached the top. The lodge was extravagant to say the least. It sprawled all across the top of the mountain; reaching into the sky almost as high as it was long. It was constructed of dark wood with massive windows the whole way across. A stone chimney poked out of the top and smoke was puffing lightly from it and bringing in the smell of timber to entice the visitors. Pulling the car up to the front and stopping, he grinned to Rose in the seat next to him. Everything after was like a blur. They had been checked into their room and stared around the lobby. A lounge was off to the side that had a roaring fire and though the large windows you could see down the mountain and the sparkling white snow stretched as far as you could see in any direction. It was beautiful. The entire scene was rustic and charming; with a warmth to it that you couldn't really find in England. It was cozy. Once in their room, John's grin stretched even further. Their was a queen-sized bed over on the one wall that faced a small fireplace with a television mounted over the mantlepiece. Along with it were little nicknacks that he found he had liked much more than the telly, but it wouldn't be an American resort without them everywhere. Setting his suitcase down and staring out the window at how the sun caught on the white powder outside and gave off a breathtaking sparkle that was nearly blinding. Turning back to Rose, he bit his lip in anticipation. "Skiing, snowboarding, tubing, sledding, snowmobiles, snowmen, snow-angels, cocoa, hot tubs, a pool, a sauna, 5-star dining, comfortable linens...the whole place is at our disposal...where should we start?"

"Oh, hello," he replied cheerfully, "John, lovely to meet you Rae," he smiled.

"Brilliant is watching the stars at night. The sunlight is real as are the stars that appear at night. And enchanted dome." She chuckled and kicked her shoes off and began dancing in the grass. I loved the courtyard. Its now open to everyone, Royal or not." Neri smiled and sang a cheerful melody as she twirled about, digging her toes into the dirt as if it were real.

He let out a laugh and watched her dance. The whole scene was simply amazing. She looked like she was right out of a folktale picture; spinning around in the spectacular courtyard. "I think it's pretty amazing, now," he replied softly, "I'd love to see the stars though..."

A sigh of relief was mimicked by a ruffle of warm air through the console, but the tension returned shortly with the question that hung in the air. I wanted to tell you everything, wasn’t sure how much I could. I was so very tired, feeling like each motion, each function that I carried out under the console was done through a pool of molasses, infinitely slower than I would have liked.

"He’s," I croaked out eventually, "not here. Not for a long while." Oh, even the words felt hollow. I hated it. "I’m sorry… John." It was my first acknowledgement that you weren’t him. I didn’t mind, of course, or I wouldn’t have come back in the first place, but it was strange to have two of the same man with different names. "The Doctor vanished." There. It was final. I’d said it. "I’ve been flying on my own, best as I can."

John's eyes widened as it was confirmed that the Doctor was gone. He opened his mind to ask another question, but it was answered. The TARDIS had been flying herself all this time. He slid his hand on the central column of the old ship. "You can't find him anywhere? Not anywhere? You've gone off to different places before when there was danger, but you always found your way back...why can't you find him now?"

Anna didn’t react to the sound of his voice. She didn’t move, and was hardly breathing - the only sure sign of life she was giving off was her two hearts beating rapidly. She didn’t even react when the final bit of energy flowing off her stopped. She was so deeply unconscious she wasn’t even dreaming, and she couldn’t feel any pain. She stayed, laying there.

"Anna...please!" He begged, feeling his pain hit him with brutal force that he screamed out. He had to make it stop. He had to do something...but he had to help Anna first. "Anna!" he screamed out. He hadn't meant to be so forceful with his scream, but it was torn from his throat as the blinding pain coursed through his body. There were tears in his eyes. He pulled himself up a bit more and pressed his hands to her temples, trying to see if she was in pain. He couldn't walk among memories like he could as a Timelord, but he could feel surface emotions through his connection. As soon as he knew she wasn't in pain, he let go, sending a piercing scream into the room as he curled into a ball. He tried to focus on the fact that Anna was going to be okay, but his pain took away his mobility, his vision and eventually, with great mercy, he fell into unconsciousness, his body unable to handle any more of the violent agony.

My knees shake. I start to sweat. “Stay… calm…." I whisper to myself, straining my ears to hear the negotiations. I hear John’s voice, but nobody else’s, just the sound of gravel underfoot as the beings reposition themselves. I hum to myself to try to get my mind off my precious Cab. He better know what he’s doing, I think to myself. My blood pressure rises as i start to become irrationally irate with my companion. This is all his fault anyway. I’ll kill him if he doesn’t get my Cab back!

The one with his hand on the gun drew out the weapon, cocking it and pointing it at John's chest. "Ah," John commented with a sigh. The one in charge stepped forward. "We don't have anything of yours, so get lost," the being replies.

John shook his head sadly. "I work for I.A.T. That's the Intergalactic Affairs Team. You have stolen a company car, there. We are in need of it back. We are on a mission to capture rogue Daleks. The rest of my team is surrounding this building. They have been trained in fighting the hostile creatures, you lot won't be any trouble. Now, I'd hate to document your arrest. You chaps seem like lovely young men with bright...violent...futures ahead of you...do you really want this to deal with? Cause...blimey, it's a car! Is that worth it?" The one with the gun jabbed his weapon at John. "You're lying," he replied. "Credentials, left jacket pocket," he replied in a bored voice. "You fellas are wasting our time..." The gunmen rooted invasively in John's pockets and upon finding the psychic paper, looked at the page before his eyes widened. "What does it say?!" The leader yelled when the gunman remained staring back and forth between the paper and John, backing further away from him. "It..." he gunman stammered, "It lists all the Daleks they've caught...and the what crimes the one they are catching has done...they...they hunt Daleks...they're insane!" the young man yelled, dropping the paper and running to hide behind a crate. John smiled, "I'll tell my men to stand down..." with a smirk, he quirked his brow at the young men, "Run," he replied. On the word, they dropped their weapons and ran from the warehouse, leaving John to pick up and dust off his paper. "Ahem, you can come out. I could feel your lack of faith burning a hole in my back," he called to the cabbie.

The feeling of the band being slipped upon her finger was perhaps what really gave the entire moment a very real feeling.  If not for the warmth that gathered in her stomach and spread throughout her body at the cool touch of the ring, she might have thought it all just a perfect dream.  It was real though, all of it was so incredibly real and it was only theirs.  There was something to said for domestics and she knew confidently that she’d rather be here than anywhere else in any universe.

Rose took the ring she had for him between her index finger and thumb and slipped it on his hand in return.  “With this ring, I thee wed," her voice trembled as she smiled up at him so genuinely.

The holy man that would be uniting them dabbed his eyes with a handkerchief before nodding once and taking a deep breath.  “Then by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife.  You may kiss the bride."

In the front pews, Jackie was already beginning to let loose some of her tears and Pete pulled her to him so that her crying didn’t echo throughout the entire church.

Rose wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down gently for a kiss with far more passion than she even knew she was capable of.  The guests began to clap and cheer but she could hardly hear it over the sound of her heart pounding in her ears.

He sucked in a deep breath as she took his hand, gently sliding the ring onto his finger. They were both so nervous, yet so excited. He tried his best not let his hand shake as she spoke those words, her eyes lit up in the most beautiful shade he had ever seen. He let out his breath in a half-laugh, his face pulled into a massive grin as he beamed at her. At the those words about his bride, he was about to move in to kiss her when she threw her arms around him and pulled him down into a kiss. Wrapping his arms around her waist, he put everything they were into that kiss; all the memories, the passion, the love, it was all there. Somewhere in the distance John could hear clapping echoing throughout the church and cheers broke out, growing louder and louder, though he still remained in his own world with her. Pulling apart, he smiled down at her, a dazed grin plastered to his features. Turning together as husband and wife, their eyes mt with the assembly. They did it.

Aurora has never said this out loud, she never admitted that the accident was her fault. She was 12 years old when this happened and Aurora blamed herself, because she was arguing with her mother. Rose isn’t watching the road, and Aurora thought she distracted her mother’s attention.**
