Wip Wednesday. Er. Sunday?

Quite late! I was tagged in a wip wednesday post by @yingxtkm

...Unfortunately my main wip at the moment is a secret project (The Road to Dawn FFXV big bang)! So you guys get an excerpt from something else.

Sephiroth woken to the sounds of a squabble in the next room. Or maybe… a lecture. “What were you thinking? You have no idea what was done, you have no idea if it was safe to take him out of that lab-” “I do know it was worse for him to stay than not to.” “That’s not the point-” Sephiroth frowned to himself slightly. The voices weren’t familiar; they weren’t his bunkmates. And as he opened his eyes, he realized the room that he was in wasn’t at all familiar. Sunlight spilled through a gauzy curtain over a window. The space was a little messy, but obviously belonged to only one person–one bed, a dresser, and a closet, plus the clutter. “What if you only made it worse? What if he doesn’t wake up because he was receiving medical attention? Or something went wrong with his injections-” “Injections he shouldn’t have been given yet.”  The second voice was less calm, less restrained, and more furious. It was interesting, because the second voice was also the one being lectured. And yet… what were they talking about? How had he gotten …here? A flicker of memory, a soothing voice and violet eyes.  …Familiarity despite the fact that he’d never seen something of the sort before.  Sephiroth shook his head and pushed himself up, the duvet (dark blue, incredibly soft) slid down. Idly, he ran his fingers along the cover of it, listening to the continued argument from the room next door. There was only one way out of the room he was in, and that would put him closer to the voices. Sephiroth wasn’t sure how he felt about that. That draw was back, though, the one that had briefly woken him up before. Why had he been sleeping though? He remembered the doctor leading him to a lab at the top of the building, something about needing some samples to ensure nothing went wrong during the next phase of becoming SOLDIER.  And then…. Nothing. Sephiroth shook his head slightly.  Answers weren’t going to come to him.

This is an excerpt from a work in progress currently titled only "Role Reversal" In brief, it is an AU in which Zack is the star First Class SOLDIER instead of Sephiroth, because Lucrecia ran away with Vincent before he was born. Except, Vincent was later captured and Lucrecia became ill while Sephiroth was relatively young. So, now he's become a soldier to support her. She's gonna be pissed when she finds out.

(I desperately need to work on this fic bc its like. All in my head but I haven't been able to Focus on much of anything so progress has been. Slow. I have so many wips I have no idea what im going to work on next at any given moment. Ahaha.)

I've never thought about that but uh yeah. I'm not sure who I'm more impressed in, my partner or the game. Maybe both.
