Special Delivery | Nate and Aaron
He could tell that Aaron was curious as ever to see what was going on."Professor Ford." He said looking towards the windows for any sign of activity outside but the campus was silent. “I’m thinking whatever this is,it isn’t good,I’m just as curious as you are,Aaron." Nate said looking up to the younger man.He too wondered just what it was that was going on just beyond the now locked office door, the halls were quiet which meant everyone was obeying the lock down order, which was a good thing,if it was something dangerous he didn’t want anyone trying to play hero.
Aaron nodded. He'd known the professor's name, mostly from looking at the name on the piece of mail. Aaron followed the teacher's glance and looked outside, not seeing anyone around. "It's just annoying that we're stuck in there. Like what if someone needs help or something?" He asked. Aaron had always been the one to look out for others above his own self. This had started when he started protecting his brother from the abuse at home. He much rather would have taken the hit than to see his brother get it.
Welcome Surprise || Hotch & Reid
Spencer smiled as he watched his friend before nodding.
"Fish is good. I love fish." He cocked his head to the side as watched Hotch fiddle with the door, as if double checking the lock. He didn’t say anything, but instead followed Hotch out of the apartment building.
"Which car is yours?"
"Great, because Elliot makes the best fish. Well really he makes the best everything." Aaron said chuckling. He started walking out to the cars and towards his own.
"It's that black Ford Escape right there." He said, pointing to it so that Spencer would know which direction to go in.
He unlocked the door with the little controller on his keys and hopped inside, starting the car up. It wasn't a new car, but Aaron had kept it in good shape.
Hospital Stay || Eliot and Aaron
Eliot tried not to think about it but couldn’t help it.
"The club won’t hire more security because he’s a money grubbing bastard. And I can’t be trusted with a taser." He would have too much fun tasing people who were pissing him off.
"I hope so. You can’t afford the rent alone." Not to mention that Eliot liked his job, he liked being a coach and teaching others how to be better for themselves.
"That's really stupid. I mean I understand him not wanting to give you a taser, because well it's you. But he can't expect one man to be able to take down a whole group and get out unscathed. Maybe you can find a better second job." Aaron said, trying to think of a better option for his friend.
"The rent is the least of my worries at the moment." He replied. "You just focus on resting up and getting better."
Special Delivery | Nate and Aaron
Taking a seat back behind his desk he looked over the letter he received in the mail and rolled his eyes tossing it in a drawer to deal with it later.Hearing the younger mans question his blue eyes looked over to him as he nodded."That’s usually the plan, take a seat,we might be in here for a while." He could tell he was uncomfortable so he pushed the papers he was grading to the side and decided to engage him in basic conversation to try and ease the annoyance of the situation. “You got a name?" He asked with a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.No one liked locked downs, that wasn’t a lie.The school hadn’t had one since his first year back and that was a drill this time, this was real and whatever it was had to be serious otherwise they wouldn’t put the order in.
Aaron sighed and looked over at the professor. He didn't really know much about him, only that he taught Architecture. Aaron didn't want to take a seat. He wanted to go see what was going on. He had this urge to figure out what was happening and stop it if necessary. Aaron didn't know why he was so curious and wanted to risk his life, but he was. He bit the inside of his cheek and nodded, sitting down in the chair in front of the professor's desk. "I'm Aaron Hotchner. I'm Professor Rossi's assistant." He replied, looking around the office.
Special Delivery | Nate and Aaron
Nate sat in his office going over his Archaeology students papers they turned in late,as always he promised to give them the benefit of the doubt.Hearing the voice he looked up and smiled taking the mail from him. “Not a problem, tell him I said thanks for getting it to me." After the alarms and the announcement he had a puzzled look on his face but moved to lock his office door. “I don’t …..I don’t know it’s been years since there has been a lock down here.Nonetheless you should get comfortable,no one in or out of here until we are told other wise." The situation puzzled Nate,he wondered what it was that was causing this but he was sure in due time he would find out along with everyone else.
Aaron watched him lock the door and suddenly felt a bit trapped. Not that he was afraid of the professor or anything, he just didn't like the idea of being stuck. "We're just supposed to sit here and twiddle our thumbs until they say we can leave?" Aaron asked, continuing to stand where he had been. He then ran through his head what a university lock down could mean. His mind jumped to other schools that he'd heard about that had school shootings. Could it possibly be something like that? Was there a student or a teacher that had gone off the deep end and was now walking around with a gun. Could someone be hurt? Aaron didn't like not knowing anything. Maybe he was over reacting. Maybe it was something not so bad, but the school decided to lock down just so the students wouldn't be stupid.
Special Delivery | Nate and Aaron
Professor Rossi had gotten a piece of male for Nathan Ford, a fellow professor. Aaron, not having much to do at the moment, was tasked with taking said male to the rightful owner. He walked through campus and made his way to the office of the Architecture Professor. Aaron entered the office. "Sorry to interrupt, Professor, but Professor Rossi received a bit or your mail by accident." He said, sitting the mail on the corner of his desk. He suddenly heard the alarms and the announcement over the speaker system. "Lockdown? Why would there be a lockdown?" He asked, frowning.
Hospital Stay || Eliot and Aaron
"It was their fault. They started it. Throwing chairs at people." He started grumbling under his breath before leaning back against the pillow of the hospital bed. It had been a tiring time, trying to play it cool on the way to the hospital while he was in pain.
"I am not even sure what to do right now. I hate being stuck on bedrest." Bed rest was putting it lightly and he knew it, but he didn’t know how else to put it. He looked up at his friend with sympathy written across his features.
"I’m sorry, dude. I don’t know how I could have been so stupid."
"I know it was their fault. You shouldn't have had to take them on alone though. Can't the club afford another member of security? Or at least issue you a taser or something. Before you jump on me, I'm not saying you can't take care of yourself, but it's a bit difficult for anyone to take on so many people at once."
"If I were you I'd sleep as much as I can. It helps you heal and passes time. I'm sure you'll be out of here in no time and back in the kitchen where you belong." He teased.
Aaron sighed. "Don't apologize. It's fine. You're fine and I'm sure everything with your job will be fine."
Welcome Surprise || Hotch & Reid
"Sounds fine to me." Spencer moved his bike against the wall and out of the way before checking to make sure he had everything in his bag. He turned and smiled at his friend standing before him.
"What were we gonna do for dinner?" He asked as he moved towards the door, unsure to do at the moment. He had some other things he wanted to discuss, but he wasn’t sure how to bring them up and if it was even ok to talk about.
Hotch smiled back at Spencer and opened the door, holding it open for him. "I think Elliot is making fish tacos tonight. Do you like fish? Because I'm sure we can find another option for you if you don't." He said, following out after Spencer and locking the door, twisting the handle to make sure he'd locked it. Aaron was sometimes a bit paranoid about such things.
Welcome Surprise || Hotch & Reid
Spencer nodded.
"I guess we can leave it here. You sure it won’t be in Eliot’s way?" He frowned a moment and ran his hands over the handle bars before nodding.
"I guess I can leave it. I come over for dinner most nights anyways."
"No just put it against the wall and make sure it's not in the middle of the walkway and it should be fine. I don't think he's going to freak out if he comes home and sees a bike here." He replied, shaking his head.
"Sounds good. You can just ride back with me after classes if you want."
Hospital Stay || Eliot and Aaron
"I’m safe. I‘m in the hospital not more than ten feet from the nurse’s station. You can’t get much safer." He gently took the dog tags and put them around his neck, where they belonged. He felt at least one piece of his normal self returned with the pieces of metal around his neck.
"It’s gonna be quiet without me around. And I don’t know when we will hear from the headmistress about if I still have a job or not." He could only hope, but with the way things were looking it wasn’t going to be pretty.
"Can’t believe they brok my ribs."
"Yes if you'll stay here." He replied, knowing that Elliot wanted to leave. He felt a bit bad for the nurses. Elliot wasn't exactly the best patient. "Try not to give the nurses a hard time, they are only trying to help you after all." Aaron said, watching him put the dog tags on. He smiled ever so slightly.
"I can live with quiet. Besides I'm sure Spencer will feel obligated to make me feel better." He said shaking his head slightly. "I'll definitely keep my ears open about the headmistress and your job. You're a great coach though so I don't see why they wouldn't let you keep it."
"Well that's what happens when fists connect hard with your chest." He pointed out.
Welcome Surprise || Hotch & Reid
Spencer looked up at Hotchner and nodded before standing and stretching.
"Yes. I’m ready. Wait, how am I going to get my bike home?" He forgot he rode his bike over, carrying the letter and his messenger bag. He didn’t want to leave it here in case Eliot came home and noticed it sitting in the living room.
"Well we can put it in the back of my car." He suggested, grabbing his keys and wallet. "Or we can leave it here and you can just ride with me back. If you were planning on joining us for dinner that is." He replied, pausing at the door while Spencer made up his mind.
Hospital Stay || Eliot and Aaron
Eliot smiled at the gentle knuckle bump his friend gave him, but knew it stemed from a worried roommate. He wasn’t normally in the hospital. Brusies, dislocated shoulder, lesser injuries were normal. Being put into a hospital bed was different.
"True. I just tried to keep from waking you up is all." He shrugged and immediately regretted the habitual movement. It pained his ribs and he gritted his teeth against the ebbs of pain. This was something he never thought he’d feel again. He looked over at the clothes on the table across the room and thought for a moment.
"I’ll make you steaks the day I come home. But can I ask you to bring me some other clothes to I have some to go home in." He knew that Hotchner would noticed the now dingy blood on the blue shirt and decided to quickly bring up something else. “Can you hand me my dog tags too?"
"Well I'm glad my sleeping habits are more important than your safety." He said, shaking his head slightly. "You should try not to move so much." Aaron advised, when he saw him shrug and then feel pain from the movement.
"The steaks aren't important Eliot, your safety is." He pointed out, wishing that he'd stop worrying about the stupid steaks. Of course he would worry about something like that when he was banged up and in the hospital. Aaron looked over to the clothes and frowned slightly. He recalled memories of trying to get blood out of his own clothes, but quickly shook his head to get rid of them. "Yeah I'll bring you some new clothes. I guess I'll do that when I visit tomorrow if that's all right." He said, moving over to the table and grabbing Eliot's dog tags. He walked back over to the bed and handed them to him.
Welcome Surprise || Hotch & Reid
Spencer nodded, but he wasn’t sure he could trust what the man said. Instead of asking he simply accept it.
"That’s fine. Just know I’m here."
He stood and moved to the couch to sit and turn on the news.
"You can finish getting ready. I’ll watch the news." He would go to school with his friend, try to cheer him up, and simply enjoy the company he had.
"That goes both ways." Hotch smiled at him. He wanted to know that he was there for Spencer, no matter what, even if that was a little hypocritical of him. It wasn't that Aaron didn't trust people. He was a little cautious, but really he felt like his past wasn't important. He didn't need the sympathy or concern from people about it. It was his thing to deal with, not to burden it upon others.
Aaron watched him go sit on the couch and briefly glanced at the tv. "All right." He nodded. He went to his room and finished getting ready. He emerged not long afterwards with his bag. "Ready to go?" He asked, as he walked by the couch.
Hospital Stay || Eliot and Aaron
Eliot smiled up at his roommate. That was a great face to see, the seriousness in his eyes then the quirk of enjoyment at the end of his comment. It was familiar and made the feeling of being useless not so bad.
"Sorry man. They kinda did a number on me. I hope you weren’t asleep. I told them to call you in the morning." He lifted his hand with it’s IV still in there and offered the man a fist. He knew that Aaron would worry until he was out, but he had already been told he wouldn’t be out for another two days with his ribs the way they were.
"I owe you steaks, dude. I was supposed to make them tomorrow." He frowned up at his friend. He felt bad for leaving him for a few days to fend for himself.
Aaron really hated seeing Eliot like this. He typically got into fights and would come home with cuts and bruises, but it wasn't very often that something of this magnitude happened. He felt bad because he couldn't help.
"No I was just working on some stuff. Do you know how pissed I would have been if they'd waited to call me in the morning? I would have probably found out anyway when I didn't hear from you." He said. Aaron was used to getting texts from Eliot if he wasn't going to be home or was going to be late. It was his way of looking after his roommate. Aaron made his hand into a fist and gently bumped knuckles with Eliot.
"I'm fairly certain I can live without steaks for a couple more days. I'm also completely capable of feeding myself before you say anything more about that." He pointed out. Sure Aaron wouldn't be eating anything good like what Eliot always made but he'd live just fine.
Welcome Surprise || Hotch & Reid
Spencer looked around and then stopped.
“Hotch, is there anything you want to talk about. You aren’t yourself this morning." He frowned. His friend was absent minded, something bothered him bad enough he was silent and easily lost. It made him wonder what he could do to help. He wasn’t a close friend, but he was a good one and he would do his best to fix what was happening to his friend.
"You can tell me. I won’t judge. You know the worst thing about me."
"Sorry Spencer. It must just be an off morning for me." He said, plastering a smile on his face. He was used to covering up his past and pretending everything was ok. No one here knew about his past anyway and he wanted to keep it that way.
"It's sweet of you to worry, Spence. And I know you won't judge, thank you, but I'll be fine." He assured him.
