Hi Wiggly, I’m Lex
when naming the starblaster the gang gets all up in arms with griffin about his naming expectations and justin asks "is it your boat or is it our boat" implying that they have more of a right to name it than he does but like. STATISTICALLY SPEAKING. griffin is technically the majority owner. just by nature of being 4 out if its 7 total passengers one of which is explicitly its captain. so.
silly hollanov :3
“shane trusts ilya with his life”
and
“he’d never let ilya change a lightbulb are you insane?!”
are two things that can exists at the same time actually
Sometimes I think about the fact that almost every single person who found out about Shane and Ilya felt the need to ask Shane "him? really? he's the one you want to be with?"
I think about how Ilya has had to make his way through life mostly on his own since he was twelve years old, about the, how he moved to a new country as a teenager and was immediately thrust in front of a camera without knowing the language or how to cope with his newfound fame. I think about the preconceived notions of Russians and how, in the absence of being able to accurately communicate (both because of the language barrier and his repressive upbringing), Ilya decided to or was forced to lean into that stereotype. I think about how soft Ilya allows himself to be with Shane, about how he takes care of him, about how silly and goofy he can be, how he's sometimes just a grown kid, how other times he's the only person who can shut Shane's brain of. I think about how kind he is, how caring, how deeply he feels, how incredibly empathetic he is. I think about how wildly Shane loves him. How there literally never could have been anyone else. I think about how incredibly hurtful it is that no one trusts Shane to make his own decisions about his own fucking life and how much it hurts seeing the coldness the world regards his partner with. I think about Shane getting home and walking straight into Ilya's arms, after having to (once again) justify his love for the best man he's ever known, allowing himself to take comfort in his warm embrace, even when it feels to Shane like he should be the one providing both comfort and shelter.
I think about the surety Shane would feel when thinking to himself, "yes. Him. No one else."
Guys help I can't unsee it now
I’ll just drop this here <3
Prompt: Thorin loves Bilbo enough to cook for him, but he is also too proud to admit that something went wrong.
Bilbo: so, this is... Thorin: spice cake. Bilbo: right. As in "a cake flavoured with spices, and that's it"? Thorin: correct. Bilbo: and not as in "carrot cake but I forgot the carrots"? Thorin: it is not supposed to have carrots. It is a spice cake. Bilbo: it sure is. Bilbo: may I have another slice?
Dwarves never go barefoot; their boots are heavy, steel-toed, and lined with thick leather to protect against sharp stones. They find Bilbo’s bare, furry feet both fascinating and deeply concerning. For the first few months, Thorin constantly panics that Bilbo will stub his toes or step on sharp iron shavings in the lower halls. He tries to order custom leather slippers for him, but Bilbo refuses to wear them, complaining that they stifle his feet. Eventually, they compromise: Thorin orders the stonemasons to meticulously polish and sand down the floors of the royal wing until the cold stone is as smooth and soft as river silk, just so Bilbo can walk comfortably
If I was Denethor the second, Steward of Gondor I would not have sent my son to a council meeting to try and get a cursed ring- I would have sent both my sons out to Seduce Aragorn by any means necessary.
If I wanted the crown of Gondor and to secure leadership for my family for all time I would have said boys. Get out there. Make it happen. Fluff your beautiful shiny hair up. Make papa proud
The lower archives of Erebor are filled with ancient, dusty scrolls that haven't been touched in hundreds of years. Whenever Bilbo goes down there to research family lineages or history, the heavy dust makes him sneeze constantly. Thorin, who can hear Bilbo's high-pitched hobbit-sneezes from all the way down the corridor, always interrupts his important meetings to storm into the archives. He doesn't say anything romantic; he just grumps about "reckless hobbits ruining their health," lifts Bilbo up by the waist like a sack of flour, and carries him out into the fresh air of the balconies. Bilbo swats at his shoulders and calls him a stubborn brute, but he always smiles when Thorin places a warm woolen scarf around his neck
My new favorite mental crack image is Consort Bilbo not being tall enough to slap someone who deserves to be slapped or strong enough to headbutt as a greeting and outsourcing it.
It's just another dwarf that walks next to him and handles all of his tall tasks.
like where did it come from i was literally doing a silly little art and craft
People who hate Frodo Baggins are my enemy. "He didn't do anything and was useless"--yeah, okay, so what you're not understanding is that he was the sacrificial lamb. He endured physical, mental, and emotional torment that got worse and worse as his will broke. Everyone knew this. EVERYONE KNEW THIS. That's why everyone was devastated about it. Because Frodo was the most innocent among them, that was the entire point. He represented ordinary peaceful people being destroyed by the horrors of war. And as a hobbit he also represented some of the last vestiges of magic in what was basically a post magic apocalypse.
Frodo was basically an innocent puppy thrown into the Torment Nexus so that EVERYONE ELSE could maybe have a hope of surviving. And he did that willingly. HE DID IT OF HIS OWN FREE WILL, KNOWING IT WOULD RUIN HIM.
Frodo haters won't see the light of heaven
love that ilya gets to the cottage and immediately starts kissin on shane’s body willy nilly!! hand kiss neck kiss knee kiss ankle kiss like!! give him kiss!!!!!
Just watched Adam Conover (of Adam Ruins Everything) make such a solid point that I think we should spread far and wide. Yes, having AI write your emails is lazy, sure, but people love being lazy. We need to really emphasize that sending AI emails (or using AI responses on social media, or publishing AI flyers, or or or) is rude.
It's rude. You're making someone take their time to read something you couldn't bother to write. You're telling them they were so unimportant you couldn't be bothered to actually take the time to say something yourself. And frankly, you're lying about it while you're at it.
It's rude.
