One of my favorite things about Leverage is that they were not afraid to put their men in colors. I'm not just talking about Nates obnoxious cutomes either. But the amount of times that Hardison is just casually wearing pink. The amount of fun patterns that Eliot gets away with while still being the "guard dog".

I love a show that isn't afraid of fun outfits.

“Is someone feeling a little needy?” he coos. And it’s funny: There would’ve been a time many years ago where a question like that would’ve made Eliot snap, gotten him grumpy and maybe even sent him stalking off. There’d be complaining, all kinds of “I’m not needy” and “Hardison I swear, I’m gonna—” followed by him making some kinda colorful threat that he’s never gonna follow through on. He’d raise a big stink, essentially. Hardison still remembers the days where he used to wonder if that’d always be Eliot’s MO. And now? you may be wondering. What does Eliot do now? Well. What Eliot does now is scoot himself in even closer, and once he’s essentially smooshed right into Hardison’s side, so close that Hardison can hardly tell where one of them ends and the other begins, he says, “And what if I am?”

Eliot needs a little somethin’-somethin’. Hardison is more than happy (and honored) to provide.

dog-coded eliot who does that thing where he pointedly puts himself in prime petting position and then if parker or hardison put a hand on him but then only leave it there he nudges at them to make a move—he tosses his head a little, noses at their palm or the inside of their wrist, etc. maybe even huffs and/or growls a little too if they still don’t give in even after that. and p/h make him wait on purpose bc they know that he’ll nudge like this and eliot is sooooo cute when he gets fussy for pets. and maybe eliot even knows that they know and he still fusses anyway bc he loves how it makes them smile and chuckle and go awwwwww someone’s needy huh?? to which he says yeah, maybe he is, and inside he knows that’s okay because p/h aren’t making fun of him—they love it when he’s needy. and he also knows he can be needy bc they’ll give him everything he wants🩷 and finally they do: after they coo a little more they stroke his hair and scritch the back of his neck and maybe even rub behind his ears, and eliot practically purrrrrrrrs, and then he settles down in p/h’s lap or on their shoulder feeling soooooo happy to be warm and comfy and touched<3 big “scary” pitbull that everyone thinks is so grrrrr bite bite bite is actually just a big baby who wants love and smoochies mwah mwah<33 yay<333

thinking some more thoughts re: eliot being so attuned to his people. all it takes is a single look or a barely there shift in posture and he's already up and moving to do whatever's needed. he can tell by tone of voice alone when something's up, doesn't even have to see what's going on. and it's so funny every time in the show where one of the crew is just like "...eliot?" and he comes in hot

and i imagine it's so scary to the bad guys. like let's say you're some rando evil dude talking to parker and it's going south. maybe you grab her up by the collar or something and yeah, she can totally hold her own and twists out of your grip easily, but all it takes is a tilt of her head and you're dust before you can blink.

or imagine you've totally cornered hardison, thinking you got off easy chasing the nerd but then he just starts grinning. dude hasn't said a word, just smiling like a maniac, then all of a sudden your shit is so rocked your ancestors feel it

My favorite part of Leverage is that over the course of the seasons, you see the team getting better at each other’s things. Like, ofc, each one is the best at what they specifically do, but it’s fun seeing them all become better actors and pickpockets and fighters. In season 4, Elliot outright says he gave Sophie tips for punching, and Sophie herself has walked team members through grifting numerous times, but it’s nice to get as much “show” as we get “tell”
