Blick Studio Cotton Canvas (left) vs Strathmore 400 Acrylic Pad. (right). I've been wanting to do a quality comparison of these two surfaces since I got the small canvas pack in and I finally had time to sit down and do one. For fairness sake I did the same design with the same paints on both surfaces. The Strathmore 400 Canvas Pad is better imo. I got the same level of coverage in 1 layer as opposed to the 3 coats it took on the canvas. The texture of the paper is smaller so the paint overall looks smoother and more solid and less broken up in spots. It just looks much more even due to texture alone. Both surfaces come pre-primed and neither really had an issue with leaving brush strokes'. Strathmore's finer texture was more compatible with acrylic paint markers for the eyes and mouth. The marker came out solid and vibrant and glided on easily as opposed to the canvas which I had to fight with and couldn't get smooth lines with or as solid coverage. Out of all the acrylic papers I've tried the Strathmore 400 had already won me over as the best in that category but I had been really curious how it compared to an actual canvas board and now I know I guess. Will continue to happily use that one for acrylic paintings : 3

Pretty late to posting these online because I got pretty busy with work, but here's a small collection of before bed doodles over the past couple of days in various media. Left is alcohol marker and neocolor ii crayons for the gradients. The mildly terrifying pig at the top right is oil pastel on canvas. Don't think I'll use canvas as a surface again. Pastel looks too broken up and doesn't completely cover it. Below that is crayola crayon and colored pencil on copy paper. The original, before I redrew it for the video lol. And the bottom right is oil pastel on UArt 600 sanded pastel paper which imo is one of the best surfaces for getting it to lay down smoothly and blend smoothly with a blending stump on. I really wish that paper was cheaper T-T. Anywho yeah~ #traditionalart

The Reze Arc Chainsaw Man movie was my favorite anime of last year so I knew eventually I was going to have to draw something for it. I wanted to try going back to something a little less clean for this one.
You can also grab a large print of this over at my shop! https://hybridmink.com/product/reze-chainsaw-man/
Today's piece is a chalk drawing of this unicorn girl. Done on a cut piece of Canson Mi-Tientes Velvet Pastel paper with Prang Pastello, Prang Ambrite, and Crayola Drawing Chalks. Jaquared Pinata Alcohol Inks were used for the transparent whites and a few Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils for the finer details. : 3

I may be late to the party, but Trigger fanart of any kind is always inevitable. I think the recent Edgerunners 2 news finally got me to draw Lucy :D
Feel like there's always things about traditional art a photo just won't capture, like the shine of the ink and the emboss of the line on this one. So made a gif. Dr. Ph. Martin's Technical Drawing Inks on Strathmore 500 Heavyweight Mixed Media Paper cut to about the size of a playing card. Line is an Indigo Blue Prismacolor Premiere pencil pressed hard enough to dent the paper. : 3
