the unstoppable force (adhd) vs the immovable object (also adhd)
i'm an expert opinion haver when it comes to films by the way. for instance when i see a bad movie i tend to shake my head and think like. well why didn't they make a good movie instead. but not everyone is smart enough to think like this.

It matters because I gave it meaning bitch
sleeping when it's cold: deepest peace imaginable, opportunity to bury yourself in blankets and indulge in the ancient mammalian instinct to curl up and sleep somewhere warm and dark and enclosed, instant and dreamless rest
sleeping when it's even slightly warm: torturous, only options are kicking off blankets and feeling horribly exposed or laying in your own sweat, impossible to get comfortable, exhausting and demoralizing sisyphean task
TIL In 1926 the famous pianist Fats Waller (then 21) was kidnapped by Al Caponeās gang to play piano for his birthday. He basically went missing for 3 days and was returned unharmed but drunk.

What this headline leaves out is that they kidnapped him by doing the standard mob thing of driving a car up, pointing a gun at him, and saying āget inā. Fats thought he was gonna be killed until Al told him he was a huge fan

The phrase āsomeone ought to do somethingā was not, by itself, a helpful one. People who used it never added the rider āand that someone is me.ā

ive never looked at an animated movie and goĀ āi wish this was live actionā but i have looked at a live action movie and wentĀ āi wish this was animatedā countless times
character in a movie: Oh no, angry dog, please donāt bite me!
the dog: Iām at work! Iām doing so good at being at work! Iām barking because my handler gave the sign ābarkā! I am going to get such a good grade in being a dog actor, which is completely possible to achieve, and normal to want! I am doing a great job! I am proud of myself for doing such a great job! I love this, because Iād make it physically impossible to get anything done if I wasnāt enjoying it! Iām barking!
I love seeing dogs and wolves in movies because theyāre acting so viciousĀ but also their tails are wagging so hard unless the post-processing guys specifically edited out the tails (which is slightly less obvious but also hilarious in a different way once you spot it).
This is why I love the dog in the original casting of The Thing so damn much. I have never seen an acting dog move with such a deliberate, calm intent. It was like every single motion and gesture this animal made was intentional.
Apparently, according to the behind-the-scenes documentation, this dog was just fuckin like that. Almost never, if at all, looked at the camera crews and production teams. Never excitedly wagged his tail on set no matter how much of a good boy he was being. If he did, it was the same⦠deliberate motions.
His name was Jed, and even though heās a dog, he deserves an oscar. He was an exceptionally good boy.
Making the people you adore laugh is literally everything
