“Viv, dear, I’ve been working on something I think you’ll enjoy,” Shaw grinned, brandishing a little blue tinged vial. - @thealouette-dcrp

“Oh, do tell.”

“I call it Control. There are many ways to administer it, however once you have, this beautiful little tincture will render even the most rebellious soul an obedient servant. A little narcotic additive to keep them reliant and dependent.” She held the little vial out for Viv to take. “I thought it might help with any current… projects of yours.”

Vivian took it. "This'll be very helpful. Thank you."

“Of course!” She smiled, folding her hands primly, “It can be injected, added into food or drink, or refined into a powder to be inhaled. Though the process to refine it into such a powder reduces the effectiveness, it would not last as long. As it stands, a single dose, either injected or consumed with food or drink, will keep the subject under its effect for twelve hours.”

The Athens

An unseen wing of the Court of Owls, overseen by the Alouette (currently: Madame Shaw). Athens is responsible for the production of several chemical compounds used by the Court, as well as a source of raw labor on behalf of their lucrative slaving business. Death isn't the only punishment the Court doles out, after all.

As the center of chemical production for the Court thanks to Shaw's influence, The Athens are at least semi responsible for the creation of the Talons. Early formulas were tested on the slaves under their care. Very few survived, those that did, did not live long.

Thus far, only one person has ever successfully escaped The Athens and their Alouette: Kitori Fox, one of Shaw's favorites, often referred by her as 'little beast'.

Malia Shaw

To the elite of Gotham, Madame Shaw is simply a gifted chemical engineer, involved heavily in the creation of miracle drugs and a benefactor of multiple chemical r&d departments and engineering firms. Overtly, she funds research into treatments and cures as she keeps her less savory interests under the table. Such interests include a lucrative slave trade and human trafficking operation, as well as work within the Court of Owls as The Alouette, the head of a wing of the Court known as The Athens, who make up much of the physical labor and menial task force of the Court.

In truth, Madame Shaw is the sociopathic boss of a group of experienced and skilled slavers. She personally owns several hundred slaves, some of which are the overseers of the pits. Her operation runs out of a cave system in a mountain near Gotham, though she has agents worldwide, keeping an eye out for potential “merchandise”. There is an extensive mining operation in the cave system, as well as a fighting pit where slaves are pitted against each other. As a chemical engineer, Mistress Shaw has many ways of keeping her more unruly slaves in line, and employs them liberally, though rarely personally.
