Draco being very openly and shamelessly gay at Hogwarts. Radiating invincibility and confidence and being unabashedly flamboyant, and Harry’s attention torn to pieces every time he sees him, because Draco is just so comfortable within his own skin.

Words Are Hard

Inspired by the huge heaps of snow that can currently be found in Scotland, and dedicated to @assassinsdragons bc she lives in Sweden and Sweden is also snowy cold stuff

“Cold cold cold cold cold.” Draco shivered as he dumped his snow-covered cloak on the ground. He usually wasn’t someone for tardiness, but he was too undercooled to care at the moment. “Coooooold.”

“Can you say anything other than cold?” Harry smirked at him from his comfortable four poster bed. By the looks of it, he hadn’t set a foot outside the thing since the night before.

Unlike Draco, who’d been dragged out of bed by Luna because one of the thestrals had gotten hurt. She’d needed his expertise on deep wounds. Wounds like the ones you found in a warzone on the wrong side, with no hospital available.

To put it lightly, he’d had better mornings.

“Very cold.” He grumbled as he glared at the Gryffindor. Strangely enough, they’d become friends over the past seven months. And quite good friends at that, which gave Draco an idea. With a devilish smirk, he kicked off his boots, walked over to Harry and climbed under the covers.

“Aaaaaa! Cold cold cold cold cold cold cold!” Harry called out as Draco wrapped himself around him. It was a delicious piece of revenge, because as expected Harry’s bed was amazingly warm and soft and comfortable. The squirming man in it was a bit less comfortable, but Draco decided not to kick him out because he was also quite hot (and not just in a temperature sense).

“Can you say anything other than cold?” Draco asked lazily as he stripped his socks away with his toes and pressed his icy feet against Harry’s calves.

“Cold!” Harry squeaked in response.

“But Potter, that’s the exact same word you know? C-O-L-D. That is what you were saying before too.” He explained as if he were talking to a dumb toddler. It earned him a deliciously angry glare from his bed partner.

“Arsehole.” Harry grumbled, but he finally stopped squirming. After letting out a deep breath, he even started to relax in Draco’s strong grip.

“Now that is a different word. Well done, Harry.” Draco could barely stop himself from laughing as Harry’s angry glare turned into a very annoyed pout. “Does mister brilliant perhaps even know another one? Or is that too much of the Saviour of the Vocabulary World?”

“I do know another word. Two even.” Harry briefly started up his wrestling again until he was hovering above Draco. “Shut up.”

And suddenly Draco wouldn’t have been able to say any words at all even if his life depended on it, because Harry Potter was kissing him. His lips were rough but warm and sweet and on his mouth. He was so surprised by it, that he barely managed to join in before it was over again.

“That was nine words.” Draco panted after they broke apart. He hadn’t made a conscious effort to count Harry’s words, but his mouth always had had a mind of its own. “You can’t count, you can’t talk, and you definitely never learned how to use chapstick. What can you do, actually?”

Draco had no idea why he was being so sassy. He guessed the reasonable part of his brain had died when Harry kissed him, and now only the most primal parts were still at work. And of course, his primal parts only knew how to sass, and how to… Do other things.

Harry smirked. “I can shut you up, warm you up and kiss you.”

And he spend the rest of the morning doing just that.
