Shortaki Week 2026 - Day 1 - Ice Cream

Ahh!! Shortaki Week is here and it's my first time contributing.

Here's a re-draw of one of--if not my favorite art by Craig, based off the Quarantine Letters series he had on Instagram during the pandemic.

I really underestimated how long it would take to draw so many characters, so once this was completed, I felt such a crazy wave of relief and joy, so I hope you like it.

Hello friends 💕 today is a special day because it's the birthday of the beautiful and talented Francesca Marie Smith, the voice actress of Helga, and coincidentally, it's also the birthday of her character

I wanted to do a comic to commemorate this special date, pretty sure a lot of us love Helga and feel really close to her, also, she wouldn't be as iconic without her voice actress, so, happy birthday Marie and Helga 💕

PS. If you're wondering why Helga is crying at the start it's up to interpretation, but it probably has to do with something like her parents forgetting her birthday

Hi everyone 🩷, this is the part one of what I consider a little series of drawings about domestic Shortaki life, I love imagining what their interactions would be like while living together

For a little bit of context, no, they're not married here yet, they're dating and also roommates. Helga works to pay for her university expenses while studying at the same time, which is why I headcanon she's pretty tired and drowsy all the time. I think it's cute to imagine them learn how to live together
