#tbt To the #JeffKoons exhibit back in 2014. This historical exhibit was the last before the #WhitneyMuseum moved #Downtown to the #Chelsea location.
Hey... we are back with a very exciting post about fresh starts. Go read! www.theartistsvisa.com/afreshstart/
The exhibit of Marisa Merz at @themetbreuer is really something on the must see list! I loved her intricate but delicate works in copper wire and mixed media.
I think that Glenn Ligon's Double America 2 reflects the feelings of many people in the U.S. today. An anticipation of the unknown and a sense of division. I'm a strong believer that it is times like this that it is most important to stay together and be kind to one another. #GlennLigon #DoubleAmerica2 #TheBroadMuseum @thebroadmuseum #TheArtistsVisa.
Some of my favorite pieces from my museum visit yesterday! @thebroadmuseum
Had a great time at The Broad yesterday! Not every day do you get to see great contemporary art post WWII for free. I do recommend to reserve tickets ahead of time to avoid long lines. 😉
My visit to LA has been inspiring. After reading #JohnBaldessari's quote at the @mocalosangeles, I had to get back to sharing the power of arts and culture!
Enjoying the talent of @meganhilty and @_matthew.morrison_ with the @newyorkpops (at Forest Hills Stadium)
Enjoyed the @magdaloveart exhibit at #ExtraButter. Check it out before July 5th!!! (at Extra Butter)

Me, taking part of Felix Gonzalez-Torres's piece: "Untitled" (Portrait of Ross in L. A.), 1991. This is more than a sweet installation at The Met Breuer @metmuseum. It is a piece meant to generate consciousness about the AIDS movement. #Art #TheMetBreuer #TheArtistsVisa #FelixGonzalezTorres (at The Met Breuer)
To the contemporary eye, "The Vision of St. John" by El Greco (ca. 1609-14) might look like a finished work, but El Greco died before completing the piece. Check out my blog post on The Met's "Unfinished" exhibit. www.theartistsvisa.com/unfinished
Unfinished
Art is a process. It requires a good deal of knowledge and a stubborn discipline. Like a machine that feeds off of power, often artist are inspired by the world around them. As this world around is always changing often works are left unfinished. Whether it be other projects, lack of interest, or even death.
Marcel Breuer Building
Last week I visited the exhibition Unfinished: Thoughts Left Visible at the recently opened Met Brewer museum. Once owned by the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Marcel Breuer building is now part of The Metropolitan Museum of Art dedicated to modern and contemporary art. This exhibition showcases artwork chronologically from the Renaissance to present day. In addition to unfinished works, as the title suggests, the exhibition also presents pieces in the non finnito (intentionally unfinished) style. This technique, which creates the illusion that a piece is unfinished, is used by many artists such as Rembrandt and Cézanne, to keep the art open-ended.
I highly recommend the Unfinished: Thoughts Left Visible exhibit at The Met Breuer Museum running through, Sunday, September 4. Visit my Instagram (@theartistsvisa) for additional photos and commentary of some of my favorite pieces.

As artists we always need to take a breath to let the ideas flow.
Isabella Gardner's passion pushed her to found her own museum in Boston. If anyone has millions to spare, I promise to curate a top notch collection that would make #IsabellaGardner proud. –Head of Isabella Gardner, 1894 by Anders Zorn. #TheArtistsVisa (at Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum)
