Exquisite Glass Ocean Sculptures Reflect the Deep Blue Ocean Abyss
New Zealand artist Ben Young takes inspiration from his love of surfing and his understanding of water and land becoming one to sculpt a series of glass and concrete models which constructs the sea-based small architectural sites. Achieving balance between organic and industrial materials was critical to Young, and the harmony created by the rough concrete textures against the clear and smooth sheets of glass reminds the viewer of the constant struggle of nature with human intervention and also signifies classical sculpture art reclaiming a contemporary concept.
