So…episode 8 am I right teeheeAAAAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH

I feel like I haven’t been rewatching the last few episodes as much as I used to. 1-5? Yeah, quite often! 6 7 and now 8? Not really. The episodes aren’t getting bad or anything, but I think it’s getting much more serious and serialized so if I want to rewatch one episode I should probably rewatch multiple.

The pacing was good, if not kind of slow. I feel as though quite a few of the cast were speaking similarly? Like everyone was very mellow or starting sentences with “ I think…” And while I obviously understand that part of the point, I wish there was just a slight variation. Zooble and Jax broke out of this a bit, since zooble still had some anger at times and Jax is usually never this “chill” so it’s at least interesting watching it.

I kind of felt like Caine would be kicking the bucket , although I thought he would abstract and become a crazy monster, but ig not 💀. Also the song was a banger

When I first watched the crash out in his office, I was like, “ Yeah, ok billy badass” but after rewatching it and remembering other episodes, this shouldn’t be weird.

He wasn’t ever praised for his adventures, most of them didn’t want to go. He tried to let them somewhat choose their adventure and they still disliked it, and the more and more freedom he actually gave them, the more he realized that they preferred when he wasn’t there or didn’t plan it.

He didn’t glitch out and get mad randomly, he and the circus have been showing flaws and glitches since DAY 1. Hell, since the intro song of the first episode, the audio was glitchy and objects were clipping into the floor. He was never stable.

I’d unpack more but I really just wanted to touch on Caine. I’ve been wanting to get some merch of him, but wanted to wait just to make sure I still did by the time the series ( basically ) wrapped up. And I still do #hediditallbutfreemyboy

Zootopia 2 electric boogaloo

I thoroughly enjoyed Zootopia 2. I love the first one and rewatched it all the time, and while the mini series was alright I still had hope for more of the main duo and their future, and I’m really glad that they hit the mark.

The voice cast? Fantastic! They killed it, and even though this cast was stacked to hell and back it didn’t feel distracting. Even Andy samberg, who I’ve seen and heard a lot of, didn’t take me out of the movie, and I was really happy about that! SPOILER BELOW

Speaking of Andy samberg, I enjoyed pawberts character. He was that kind of adorkable trope Disney has but since you don’t often see the guy characters having those traits, it felt kind of fresh. Do I think the twist villain was good? Yes, actually. Zootopia first twist villain wasn’t bad, but I think this one was slightly better. Or maybe we’ve just had enough of a “twist villain era “ break to start appreciating them again.

Unfortunately I did know a few spoilers before the movie, but not ones that really hindered my experience. Infact, I want to say they added more suspense. 3 things I knew: Pawbert was a twist villain, Judy and nick got separated, and nibbles, to some, was an uneeded addition. I kept wondering when each thing would happened, so it kept me even more engaged with the movie than I was originally. Also I enjoyed nibbles, I don’t think they overstayed their welcome. I don’t think many people dislike her, but I heard it said somewhere.

I also want to go on and compliment the writing! Not only character wise but humor wise. ( That your mom joke actually almost made me laugh out loud, I was not expecting that ) I think it’s improved since the last movie, as I felt with the first one I was mostly charmed, but now I’m actively laughing. I like how they expanded on the characters personality’s as well! ( Crazy that it’s only a few weeks after the original, but it allows them to better understand each other while still having more room to grow, so I do think it was a good choice ) Judy and Nick are decently aware of their personal issues and each others issues, which makes for some conflict, but they also care very deeply for one another, which is shown in the little things. How they look at each other, how they take, all the smaller interactions that the animators, voice actors, and writers did that made their relationship feel genuine and sweet. Overall they just have really fun chemistry that’s fun to watch.

I think most of all the characters are fun to watch, and I like to see all the dynamics they have. I’ll probably touch on more things later, maybe I’ll make a part 2 to this post of just add on an edited section, because this movie really was a blast. If you liked the first one you’ll definitely enjoy this one.

Until Dawn ( game ) I want MORE. I want to see where everyone is now. Where is Josh? Did anyone every find him?

Community. 6 seasons and still NO MOVIE. I want Troy and abed to have a reunion and I will NEVER SEE IT.

Into the woods. “The musical?” You must be asking…YES. How is everyone, how are they grieving? Did Jack keep his promise in not getting revenge?

It takes Two. How’s the marriage? How is Rose?

There’s probably more I can add that I just can’t think off, but grrr it shivers me timbers. Is this the greed they talk about in the Bible? Yes.

Season 2, yippee!

I’ve watched I think 6 episodes so far, liking the season so far. The first and second episodes were good, 3 and 4 were kinda eh, I enjoyed 5 and 6 a lot, it’s moving as smoothly as you would think.

If you haven’t seen it and you want something to draw you in, take a look at the cast list or the creator of the show.

I think it still carries that Superstore vibe, but I think it worked out a few of the kinks. What kinks, you may be asking? Well, I can’t really name any off the top of my head 6 months after finishing superstore, but I’m sure that they’ve knocked some out.

One that I can point out though, is that the characters feel way more developed already. Like I feel like in Superstore, you had this decent sized cast of pretty basic characters, and while you started to expand on them, you would add a new basic character. But in season 2 of St. Denis, I feel like I know a lot more about most of the main cast and they are starting to either introduce new side members of are expanding upon the ones they’ve already established.

Other than that, there aren’t too many episodes to do a full season summary of any sorts, but I’m looking forward to whatever they put out next. Not all jokes will be funny, not all character interactions will be pleasant, and not all answers will be solved, like how old is everyone???

JUMPSCARE!!

Anywho, I’ve been listening up on LOA podcasts in preparation for a campaign I’m gonna start soon with some friends. I want to get a feel for how it’s written, how it flows, and how other react to each other without having to read through manuals ( which I do have, and which I will eventually probably read )

So far I’ve listened too:

all of the first season of Uprooted ( Booker is my favorite )

up to episode 20 of OUAW ( frost is my favorite )

up to lying eyes part 2 of Stardust rhapsody ( Pyke is my favorite so far, I yearn to listen to more but they haven’t added more on Spotify )

Please recommend which campaign I should start next from them/ any campaign you like that isn’t from them!

Here’s what I’ve gathered from my listen throughs:

They are all very funny, they play off each other very well. It’s tough to listen to these in public cuz I’m holding back a smile listening to them laugh.

I think uprooted is the most beginner friendly of their campaigns. It’s funny, it’s pretty light, and I think it’s the easiest to follow. I know OUAW is one of the more popular ones but don’t feel like you have to have to start with that one. I felt like that, and then I got burnt out. I’m starting to listen to it again though.

I know Mikey and Richie are twins, and they went to high school with Mace. Kelsey and Andy are married and have a kid. Not sure about anyone else’s relationships though,

Derek actually went to clown college.

DMs have really good writing skills and adaptation skills, being able to narrate what happens and the environment around them. Sometimes they slip up ( looking at you, sh*tmouth sh*tjaw the turd )

Math in DnD seems somewhat simple, thank god ( math is stinky, sorry math lovers )

You should give players quite a bit of freedom when you can, but you also know when you have to reel it back in.

Not every player is gonna try to seduce the dragon

St. Denis medical season 2 is starting to release, I’m gonna start reading wings of fire, ( idk when but I have all the books so ima just wait til inspiration strikes, I’ve read the first one so far ) Hugo’s mind palace got a little short ( I was a little worried it was abandoned at the pilot ) and I’m going to my first ever concert tomorrow!! Ima see The Happy Fits, definitely go check them out if you haven’t already. Also go watch st. reflection ( who is that girl I see ah headliner )

I love watching sitcoms. They are my favorite genre of show. I’ve fully watched through b99, community, and superstore. I’m working through new girl, modern family, arrested development and sort of parks a rec ( I’ve watched through the whole show, but by that I’ve seen 7 episodes from each season scrambled about )

I’m waiting for the next seasons of St. Denis medical and abbot elementary, and have just started to watch The Paper.

With all that being said, I just think back on some of these shows and wonder…what’s the perfect runtime for a sitcom?

I definitely think that it depends on the show, what the show needs, and the show runners behind it. But if networking and upper management weren’t problems, and the actors were all willing to stay until the show was over, what would be the right amount?

Like, I’m definitely not the only person who thinks community lasted past its due date. Four years of college is what was needed for wingers plot to be finished. They had six seasons.

Don’t get me wrong, I still like the show as a whole and I would only change so much, but the cracks are clear and hard to ignore. Like, we go from abed and Jeff partying drunk so Jeff can drunk dial britta so the power balance is back, to Jeff imagining CHOKING SEVERAL ABEDS in the last episode and then kissing Annie ( a storyline that was always kind of weird but idk, not as bad as that weird ass 5th season ending where him and britta want to get married )

Sometimes I don’t mind a show running as long. Although b99 ( Brooklyn 99, if you didn’t know, I hate when people abbreviate but idk what it means ) had a lackluster final season, I couldn’t imagine having a season less than the 9 we got. So much development and jokes and heartfelt moments that I love and that make the show what it was. If we didn’t have all those seasons, we would run out of so many incorrect quotes. This timeline is already fucked enough, I’m not tryna live in a 3 season b99 dimension.

I do want to come back to this topic once I have finished more shows and can better analyze my thoughts, but please let me know if your thoughts on sitcoms under or overstaying their welcome and how it effects the show.

So, I watched thunderbolts. The ratings were good, my mom watched it and she said it was good, so it was was good. And the last time I watched anything marvel related was loki season 2. Or guardians of the galaxy 3 I don’t remember. So I watched it and….

IT WAS SO GOOD. I don’t think it’s bad. Do I think it has a few flaws, sure. But none I could really point out to you on a first watch through. It was good, it was relatable, it was funny, it had symbolism ( there was a scene where bro was LITERALLY beating himself up, like THEY COOKED ) I liked the themes it portrayed, I- oh my gosh I could RAMBLE. I need them ALL. I need every member of the thunderbolts in my hand so I can just squeeze them. After that idk what I would do with them but THEY ARE CONSUMING MY THOUGHTS.

Like I wish I could control how BADLY I hyper-fixate on things but I really can’t. Sometimes it’s a week or two, sometimes it’s like 6-7 😏 months like AGHHH!

This is actually lwk making me mad WHY do people keep saying “ What everyone thought would happen episode 6 “ when it’s someone talking about how they thought pomni would SHOOT HERSELF!!

LIKE WHAT?? IM SORRY??? Are we watching the same show right now??

Like you guys think that the same pomni who we’ve been watching would take 1 comment from Jax and decide “ Man, that hurt my feelings so much that I will SHOOT MYSELF.”

Like I just don’t get it. I didn’t get that vibe. I got the vibe that she would shoot the gun, yes, but if anything I thought she would just shoot Jax. But where they took it made much more sense character and world wise.

I just can’t seem to see if this is just what fans wanted for the sake of angst or if this is a serious misread of pomni and honestly the show as a whole. It’s giving the aziraphale coffee theory from Good omens ( a theory I’ve despised for YEARS because of how much it doesn’t allow aziraphale to be A CHARACTER with FLAWED VIEWS)

Like pomni has NEVER showed me any signs that she would do something like that. Is she nervous and kind of a wet cat at times? Yes. But she’s also strong-willed, emotionally intelligent, and kind. Like she’s not just some sad person that cares about every opinion someone could think of her, and it’s not like she believes every word Jax is saying. She’s not hurt because she thinks he’s telling the truth, she’s hurt that she’s lying and not being genuine with her after feeling as though they had connected.

If you can make it make sense to me to why you thought that the scene would take that turn, please explain. I just do not see it what so ever and it makes me feel strange when SO many people thought it would happen. Maybe I’m also being over dramatic but idk 🤷

TADC 6 rant

It’s crazy how everyone was like “ oh no ragatha might be next to abstract “ and then bastard bunny comes into town and says nuh uh.

But no the self sabotage was devious work. The tragic thing about it is that it’s realistic. If you were trapped in a place people keep dying, and mental weakness is what makes you die ( more or less ) and the person who sank the most time, trust, and love into died, how would you react? Hell, take that last part out, your trapped in a circus where giving into insanity kills you one way or another, how tf do you react?

I honestly feel like I would do what Jax did. That’s not to be like “ ahaha, yeah he’s so me, I’m so dark and twisted like that” But I would genuinely do that. I’m not a people pleaser like ragatha, I don’t think I would be as loopy as kinger, I wouldn’t be able to be as emotional as gangle and I wouldn’t be as defensive as zooble. Or, actually, maybe I would be, I’m kinda tied between Jax and zooble about how I would react.

More or less I understand what he’s doing. Why make friends, they’ll die anyways, don’t get attached. If you act like they aren’t real, maybe you can convince yourself that you won’t get hurt when they go. That they won’t miss you when you go.

Also Caine. MY BOY. He’s been my favorite character and knowing that he’s probably just gonna keep developing into a worse version of himself is tough ( I’m probably still gonna get his plushie tho ) Bro went from full of joyous whimsy to “ are you winning son “ So I can only imagine it getting worse.
