Curry Leaf Plant

It’s also known as Kari patta, Kadi Patta, Curry Patta, Curry Leaf, Karivepalla, sweet neem, Murraya koenigii (family Rutaceae).  Curry leaves are used as a spice or condiment while cooking Indian dishes.  It is NOT the ‘curry powder’ which is a powder mix of coriander (cilantro) seeds, turmeric and other ingredients.  Curry leaves are used fresh or dried in Indian recipes.

Curry Leaf plants

Curry Plant is widely used for its culinary and medicinal properties. It is considered an important ingredient in South Indian, South East Asian and  Sri Lankan cuisine. It’s fresh and pleasant aroma enhances the taste of the dish in which they are used.
