For others: Motanka is a Ukranian folk tradition, a protective talisman. Similar to the Russian Bereginya, these dolls were made without faces, believing that a face would inspire a soul within (possibly a malevolent one). They were given to children, newlyweds, and pregnant women to safeguard against disease, insomnia, and misfortune. Bereginya was made by female relatives, and was more potent if made by more than one. The fabric to make it must be torn, not cut, from the clothes of the makers.

Redirection Mac n Cheese

An easy and cozy meal when things seem hard and not going your way.

Ingredients:

Salt - Cleansing, Purification, Banishing Negativity

Pepper - Banishing Negativity, Protection

Garlic Powder - Banishing Negativity, Healing

Onion Powder - Banishing Negativity, Healing

Parsley - Protection, Purification

Basil - Banishing Negativity, Invites Abundance and Luck, Emotional Healing, Wealth

Oregano - Banishing Negativity, Healing, Clarity, Prosperity, Wealth

Thyme - Banishing Negativity, Healing, Purification

Pasta of your choice

Butter

Milk

Flour

Cheese of your choice

In a 2 Sauce Pans (1 large, 1 small); in the small saucepan, melt your butter (1 tablespoon) on low heat. In the larger one, salt your water generously and bring to a rolling boil. Stir your water counter clockwise!

In the butter pan; once the butter has melted, add 1 tablespoon of flour. Whisk until combined and flour cooked. You don't want it to form into a solid dough, but something close to it.

Your water should be boiling, add your pasta and allow to cook until al dente.

Back to your butter pan; slowly add 1 cup of milk while whisking. You don't want it to become watery or overly dough-y. Once you fully incorporate your milk, begin adding 1 cup of cheese bit by bit. Whisk until a nice Creamy consistency.

Drain your pasta!

Now that your Cheese Sauce is almost done, add; 1 tablespoon of parsely, a pinch of salt, 1/2 a teaspoon of pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon of basil, 1/2 teaspoon of oregano, and 1 teaspoon of thyme. Or you can add to your taste! I enjoy a more cheesy flavor 😋

Put the pasta back into the large sauce pan and pour the cheese sauce over. If it isn't as Creamy as you'd like, on low heat add milk as needed until your desired consistency. Stir clockwise to bring in all that goodness!

🍋Witch's Lemon Cake🍋

🍲Ingredients + Correspondences📚

3 cups of Flour: for strenght and stability

2 cups of Oatmeal for kindness, wealth and health

Lemon zest of 4 Lemons: purification and healing

3 cups of Sugar to bring some sweetness into your life (state what you have in mind, darling)

2 cups of Water: the source of life, gratitud, abundance. Be grateful for your water while you're at it

1 cup of Butter for enlightment and joy

5 eggs: for manifesting your intentions and healing

1 1/2 tsp Baking powder

1 tsp Baking soda: they'll make sure your cake goes up.

1/2 tsp Salt for cleansing and protection

Vanilla to sprinkle some love in your life

Honey to connect with the divine and your intuition

A nice witchy chant or music you utterly adore that makes you feel like you have all the power in you (spoilers: you do!)

👣Steps (+ witchy inspo)🧙‍♀️

Pre-heat oven at 350°F/180°C. Butter the cake pan of your preference and add flour (or a parchment paper if you like to use it).

Pour the water in a little bowl with the oatmeal and set it aside (mind your intentions!).

Mix the dry ingredients. Start chanting or singing along those lyrics that you just love.

Pour the rest of the ingredients, and keep mixing and dancing. Note: picture those who'll eat the cake receiving the blessings you're stating.

Pour the mix in the cake pan, add some decor or a sigil if your heart wishes so. (My cake pan is 35cmx25cm)

Bless your cake and Put in the oven.

Now you'll have to wait till you can feel the Third Smell (about 40 mins). Then just to make sure, stick a knife in it, and if it comes out dry... Congrats!! You got yourself a nice witchy cake.

Final result: a beautiful slightly green-tinged yummy cake.

(I decorated after getting out of the oven with rosemary for protection+calmness and white sage for keeping the energies balanced)

Lavender Syrup!

I know there are a ton of recipes out there, but this one's mine. I put in a lot more lavender personally.

- 2 cups sugar

- 1 1/2 cup water (here's an opportunity to use moon water for extra energy. Full moon water can boost the lavender correspondences for psychic awareness and love, while water charged in phases leading up to the new moon can boost lavender's ability to banish/protect from depression and anxiety)

- 4 tablespoons lavender- Peace/anti-anxiety, happiness, love, sleep, psychic awareness/ability, creativity, protection from ill treatment.

- purple food coloring (optional)

Instructions:

Warm the water and sugar, mixing till it dissolves, then add the lavender and mix well. When the water is boiling, lower it to simmer, cover, and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes. If you leave it for longer, it will become bitter. Then strain into a bottle, and THEN add the food coloring if you want. This syrup is not meant to be very thick, so that it mixes easily with cold drinks just as well as warm. If you want it to be thicker, add more sugar.
