A food ethic is a set of values and principles that guide the choices you make about what to eat. Describe your personal food ethic. I enjoy meat in moderation but know that I should ideally raise and slaughter what I eat or at least buy from local livestock producers, and I know I should buy local from fellow growers, but as a grower myself I can’t afford the prices I myself charge for most items. All very well to applaud the ethics of those who can afford to buy strictly local, as long as the living being made is both ethical and ecological. My ethic in the most general terms is: if you consume, you should also produce.
