Backrooms is a 2026 science fiction psychological horror film directed and co-scored by Kane Parsons, it was distributed by A24 and is based off of the Backrooms creepypasta created online.

Synopsis "After a therapist's patient disappears into a dimension beyond reality, she must venture into the unknown to save him."

These polls are geared towards a Black audience, if you're not Black i don't mind you discussing this topic as well as i do think its important for nonblack people to understand how to spot and write\not write these things, but please know that you should not be speaking for or over Black voices as a nonblack person and deciding that you know more or better. Ok main reasons in why I as like Black movie goer thought it was bad rep and quite racist:

The two white writers made their only Black character as the aggressive dangerous Black man that is a threat and danger to white women.

Even on his first scene he was portrayed as and alcoholic that was abusive to his white ex wife . And it escalates on the last part of the movie where he attacked his white therapist dragging her to a different room tying her up in a chair, trying to coerces her into engaging pseudo cannibalism, scalping a monster women to make her wear it , yelling at her bc he's pretending she's his ex wife can re acting the divorce.

After he admits he doesn't want to change and wants to keep being horrible (to white women and also his nonblacks employees) .he's killed by the monster version of himself played by a white man.

Then you see the white man wearing this costume with the face of a Black man chase the therapist (white woman ) down ending in a scene were this monster is on top of the white woman therapist while she's beating it with a rock , in scene that very much reminiscing of Sexual violence., with the white woman and the monster mesnt to represent and look like a Black man

It was extremely racist on the later half on the movie to the point that even if I enjoyed other part or Clarks I can't recommended it or say the rep was anything but bad bc of it.

This is literally what people are talking about when they say AI will be used to mainstream widely held bigotry. LLMs are trained on frequency and probability -> straight relationships are more well represented in the dataset -> straight pronouns and terms become the "correct" normal.

This is a form of backdoor bigotry from both normative facts (there are more straight than gay relationships) and well represented bigoted beliefs (men are superior to women).
