Today was a rainy day, so working on stuff at my desk as the rain pittered and pattered outside my window was the ideal 10/10 experience. I felt like I was in a 'Rain Sounds 10 hrs' video (life imitates art lol). Though I really wish I'd had gone outside to take a walk or something tbh. Next time, inshallah 🌧️☔

i was actually quite productive today, finished all the psychology i needed to do and worked pretty consistently at school; less so at home so i didnt finish my history but im just glad i did work at home

Thesis Diary #37
New update on the thesis. I have finished reading and rereading the first chapter and I wrote the professor an email sending it. I also had a few questions to ask her so I did all in one go. I am a bit nervous but also excited to hear what she says about it, mostly because it will give me a lot of help with the rest of my work, as I will have a clearer idea of what she wants me to do. Aside from this writing related things today I did a bit of organization of the material I gathered yesterday at the archive. I have divided the photos in chuncks, and I have more or less decided which parts I will start working on first. Tomorrow I plan on rereading and reorganizing the notes I took while I was at the archive, and after that I will actually start working on those documents.

man. remember early in the pandemic, shortly into the telework phase, when a lot of women started vocalizing “wow, i didnt realize just how much time, energy, and even money i was wasting on dolling myself up for work every damn morning, until i didn’t have to do it anymore. i don’t think i’ll go back to doing that when we return to the office? i won’t be a slob or anything, of course, i’m just not going to go out of my way to look pretty at work" and then,
so many people proceeded to lose every last crumb of their shit about it, writing the most asinine crybaby articles ever where they were just. utterly horrified by the possibility that more and more women might become comfortable looking natural/plain and completely opting out of the expectation to look as appealing as possible at all times, even when all they’re doing is spending all day in a cubicle. that was bonkers. lmao.
some ladies were like “during lockdown, i saw myself in the mirror without makeup much more often, and got used to it, so now i don’t feel as anxious for others to see me without makeup on either. i’m comfortable with the face i have, it’s fine just the way it is”
and some absolute dork ass losers heard this and went “truly, this is the death of femininity”

I think I had to carry out like thirty reactions today, I didn't even know I could work this fast 😵💫 I still had fun though, I learnt a lot, and the colors were gorgeous!
I made a baby blanket for a pregnant woman at work and I went back and forth about it like “is this weird? To like hand make something for someone when we’re like friendly acquaintances not like bffs. God why are you so fucking awkward.” Anyway I gave it to her and she said she loved it and in the back of my head I’m like yea she’s nice and probably just humoring the weirdo. Well she texted me a picture this weekend of a scrunchy faced newborn at the hospital wrapped in the blanket I made her. And I’m like. Wow. She loved it so much she took it with her! To the hospital! To give birth! She wrapped her newborn it! I am just so filled with love and joy right now.
People will love the things you make them. Because you thought of them and you cared.

Finally got round to tidying my study so instead of there being pieces of paper, folders and literally everything else all over the floor, things are much tidier! I still need to actually organise the papers itself, its all in a pile though they need to be put in a folder lol. only 3 days until Christmas! feels a bit weird that its come so quick! 🎄❄️
