annual Peking duck feast is on Friday (okay, technically more Canto style than otherwise, but that's what they bill it as, and it's a killer deal when you have the recommended four people per duck). the afterparty host is doing homemade Choco Tacos????? there is no way I can compete even by bringing a mille crêpe cake. one time I picked up some rice koji from the Japanese market in the suburbs for her, and she whipped up a crème brûlée for me as thanks. god I love this group of weirdos who like to eat food with internet strangers (explicitly not for dating purposes, just for food purposes).
