Why I Decided to Start a Blog in 2025
Starting a blog has been a dream of mine since I was a teenager. Back then, I envisioned myself as a social media personality, building a community around my brand. But for years, I hesitatedāheld back by shyness, uncertainty about the value of my content, and the overwhelming nature of content creation. My anxiety didnāt help either.
Now, Iām finally taking the leap with The Bloom Edit.
This blog is my space to explore slow content, business, finances, and self-care for women like me. Hereās why Iāve chosen this path:
Blogs might not rival TikTok or Instagram in generating instant fame or influence, but they allow me to focus on quality. Instead of churning out content to keep up with algorithms, I can create meaningful pieces that resonate deeply with readers. This approach lets me build something lasting and authentic.
2. Community Over Numbers
For years, I was paralyzed by the belief that the "perfect" content strategy would catapult me to success. But chasing numbers only led to frustration and inaction. Iāve realized that what matters most is cultivating a genuine connection with my audienceāwhether thatās three loyal readers or 300 followers.
The pressure to post multiple times a day kept me from starting. Iād promise myself Iād begin ānext Mondayā...and then the next, and the next.
Discovering a format that aligns with my natural rhythm was the key to finally getting started. Blogging feels manageable, and itās something I can commit to consistently.
4. A Need to Express Myself
This blog is my outlet. Itās a chance to share my thoughts, showcase my abilities, and connect with people who genuinely appreciate my content.
It took a long journey of self-discovery to let go of the unrealistic expectation that Iād suddenly become comfortable with flashy, high-exposure platforms. Iām a low-profile person, and thatās okay. Blogging fits meāitās personal, intentional, and true to who I am, even if itās not the trendiest medium right now.
5. Reducing Mindless Consumption
As someone whoās been chronically online for most of my life, I didnāt want to contribute to the endless stream of fleeting, shallow content. Instead, I hope The Bloom Edit becomes a space for thoughtful, valuable, and intentional conversations.
If this resonates with you, consider following along. Letās grow, learn, and connectāone intentional step at a time.
