An Enchantment of Ravens- An interesting take on fae and human interactions with the idea of Craft. I liked the two main characters, the plot, and the ending. I did feel that their live story needed a bit more development before I was fully convinced, but I liked Isobel and Rook enough by the end that the beginning of their story took a backseat. 🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛
The Rose Bargain- Another book about fae this month. It was good, but not great. I really like historical romance/ regency romance so I thought it would be right up my alley, but I think it was a little too predictable and it didn’t feel like it was anything new. I also wish that it was a standalone book. I will say that the characters had good chemistry. The most exciting part was closer to the end and that’s what brought my rating up a bit closer to 4 stars. 🌹🌹🌹
A Study in Drowning - I read this via audiobook and ebook in tandem. I liked the audiobook and I’m not sure I would’ve been into the book had I not started reading it that way first. It gets into some pretty heavy topics and I think that the author handled it well metaphorically. I liked both of the characters and the kind of gloomy, atmospheric vibe the setting gave off. 🥀🥀🥀🥀
Morbidly Yours- A contemporary romance with characters who have both come into each other’s lives right when they were meant to. Callum, a mortician, and Lark, a widow, help each other to embrace life. It was heartwarming to see their relationship grow. I also love to see demisexual representation in books! 🪦🪦🪦🪦
All I Want Is You- Yeah, I read a Christmas book in March. Sue me for wanting something warm and cozy. This one was just okay for me. I’m not the biggest fan of second chance romances in the first place so that’s probably part of it. There was also a miscommunication trope in here and I just wasn’t sure how I felt about it by the end. I was really hoping that Jess could stand a little more on her own two feet in terms of career development without Nick’s influence too. Part of the initial problem was that he thought she would grow resentful of his success (she admits this too). So wouldn’t she start to question her later success if she did it because of the proximity to him? Idk maybe I’m looking too far into this. 🎄🎄🎄
