I was very touched to receive this in the mail recently. The most recent royalty statement for The Book That Made Me was modest, but altogether, more than $8000 has gone to support the important work of the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. The book is also a recommended text for a Year 11 English unit of work in NSW (Reading to Write), so I hope it continues to have a meaningful place in the lives of the readers it was made for. #thebookthatmademe

It was a night of mixed emotions as Georgia Blain won a posthumous Victorian Premier's Literary Award and playwright Leah Purcell took out the $100,000 Victorian Prize for Literature.
