I have this long list of stories in my head about Bard. He's an eternal sort, unchanging with his endless responsibility. That means the stories of other mortal characters will rise and fall as he goes about his duties. Soraka was punished by the stars with mortality. What if Soraka should fail again, or perish? That was the thought behind that old artwork, that Bard might have to take her staff away. And what of other artifacts, like the stone that Jayce studied? Kayle's sword, should it fall into the wrong hands? I like to think that items like Zhonya's ring and hourglass might be canon lore. What if Bard watches over the Trinity Force? Or the Infinity Edge? Alistar might have a family one day, die, and be forgotten by the world while Bard carries on. I like the idea that Bard would visit Alistar's children, just to have a little jingle and remember his friend. Does he know of the Kindred, see them working their own grim task while he goes about his own? What if he clashed with them? What might that be like... Really I just like the idea that Bard's drawn to music. That way he might even cross paths with Sona or Yasuo even.
