Today marks the 60th death anniversary of Duncan Edwards, whom was sadly taken from us on the 21st of February 1958, at 2:15am. A day of memory, sad to recall, without farewell, he left us all. Gone but never forgotten, we love ya ‘Big Dunc’. (1 October 1936 – 21 February 1958)
Sixty years ago today the world of football changed forever when Duncan Edwards tragically passed away in hospital at the age of twenty one. He bravely fought to stay alive for fifteen days after the Munich air disaster crash that killed seven of his teammates. To me, he is one of the best footballers to have ever lived. I only wish there was a time machine available for me to travel back and witness his brilliance in the flesh. I hope you know how loved you still are, Duncan. Rest in peace Sir x

The world of football pauses, pushing their rivalries and grudges aside for today to remember the victims of the Munich Air Disaster. Such a devastating tragedy. Fifty nine years ago today on the 6th February 1958, in Munich, a horrific plane crash claimed the lives of twenty three people, including eight Manchester United players along with staff, journalists, other passengers and crew members. The world, not just the country were affected and moved on that dreadful day. Together we mourn as one. Rest in peace. You’ll never be forgotten.
