Today was the start of spring semester. And how did I start my semester? By almost eating shit at the bus stop in front of a mass group of people. And then waiting with said group of people that enlarged into 30+ people, who then had to get onto an already crowded bus and had to deal with the claustrophobia that ensued with being all up on those people. But other than that it was fine. Yay first day back to classes.

I was riding the bus yesterday and had a fairly new driver. While we were coming up to the transit center there was a bus taking up his spot. You can tell he was having an internal dilemma of where to pull up so he made a last minute turn and all you hear from the front of the bus is "SHIT." Now, I'm not a professional bus driver. But I'm pretty sure vulgarity is not allowed. It's humorous, but when I hear a bus driver say that it frightens me for my own #lyfe

While on the bus today, "Just living that cow life. I've never been around to watch them calf" and then many more cow jokes ensued. And that was my 10 minute bus ride.

Because I'm lazy and didn't want to venture into the cold I'm doing a #tbt to when my roommate missed the bus for the day....twice.

I realize it's been so long since I've posted. I'm so terrible with remembering to blog. Nothing insanely ridiculous has happened since the last time I've posted though. Today was our official first day of snow falling and you can tell how incredibly thrilled I was to be walking outside in the snow. On my way back home, while waiting for the bus this girl came waddling over (she was wearing very thin leggings and booty shorts on top I might add) came and sat on top of some dude and started making out up until the bus pulled up. Probably the most uncomfortable I've ever felt waiting for the bus. But you know, it ended up being okay because when the bus door opened up an adorable black lab came trotting off wearing little booties and I instantly felt happy again.

There really was no interesting moments on the bus ride home today. I did discover it's National Cat Day though. So please enjoy my meowstache pin.

"Last Halloween I dressed up as a pirate and took squirt guns and filled them up with Tequila. I accidently shot Sean in the eye though...." I feel like if you're gonna be a pirate...shooting guns filled tequila might be the way to go. You're less likely to lose a battle I presume.

It’s been awhile since anything interesting on the bus has happened. A couple days ago I learned that there is a group that meets once a month Thursday to teach people how to gain the confidence to use the transportation system and this gives me a good chuckle. That one hour session they hold is probably something I should have done when I first started #thebuslyfe. Today, my roommate Olivia and I were sitting on the bus when the kids next to us (as featured in the photo on the left) were going off about how “horrible and ugly Olivia is”. Of course Olivia and I exchanged looks but quickly came to the conclusion they were discussing about another Olivia. The conversation continued to be awkward as the girl was stating how vindictive this new Olivia is and continued ragging on the girl. She then stated how she wanted to Facebook stalk her. In my mind that’s a win for new Olivia because this random girl was taking time out of her day to take interest in her. Oh well. I felt bad for my Olivia because that’s incredibly awkward to overhear someone talk about you…but it not even be you. Again, oh well.

On my way home for lunch I ran into a friend of mine (photo on the right) and decided to be awkward and include him in my blog for a happier note.

Nothing incredibly exciting happened on today's trip. While on the way home I overheard a conversation with a kid telling his friends "I don't know man, but THAT'S why I'm gonna be embarrassed at Thanksgiving." Who was this boy? Why is he going to be embarrassed at Thanksgiving? He then hopped off at the next stop so I wasn't able to gather any more clues. I also learned on my trip to campus this morning that standing up and holding onto the bar is a lot trickier than it looks and requires balance and abs. Both of which are qualities I lack.

Sitting and waiting for the bus to come I hear a long board near by and moments later a rumbling in the bushes. I looked over to find this bro (unfortunately in one of my classes) to be stumbling out of the bush a few feet away from me. Everytime I'm waiting for my bus he always speeds by on his board, dodging cars through the parking lot attempting to weave thru them. As a boarder myself I do not wish crashes upon any one but for a kid who walked in during the middle of a class lecture with a cardboard sign explaining how "I'm still single ladies", he kind of deserved it. On a happier note I heard my bus driver explain to his release that he hid a breakfast burrito somewhere on the bus and if he wants it he must find it before a passenger. Challenge accepted.

Typically on Tuesdays I'm on the bus four times. This is trip home number two. While we were pulling out of the transit center a lonely ice cream man was sitting in the back of his truck blasting music attempting to catch the attention of college folk. A little sketch in my mind but you gotta make that paypurr somehow. I attempted to snag a quick photo but my awkward photo taking skills failed me. So instead this was my point of view as we sped by.

I have been an avid public bus rider for approximately a month now. So while today was not my first day on the bus the girl cheesin’ on the right, my roommate, it was her 'first time'. I joked about establishing a blog about all the fascinating things I’ve discovered since I’ve started #thebuslyfe but I got to about day five and stopped texting her all the silly things that happened. I was finally able to convince her to take the bus with me this morning and she made a remark that I should seriously start up my blog again and keep with it. So here we are. Post one. Bus stop selfie! Here’s to attempting to keep a blog running. At least it’ll give me something to do during my spare time while on the bus.
