i dont normally post but the simply plural situation is so awful i have to rant. on the same note, PLEASE do not harass apparyllis. enough damage has been done.

i don’t know how to feel. on one hand i understand the reasoning for operations stopping, but on the other hand,

wasn’t there anything else they could’ve done??

simply plural is the biggest plural resource without any doubt, and there is no chance apparyllis doesn’t know this. its not just disappointment, they are genuinely taking away a huge point of accessibility for the entire community. i understand this is for their health but it is, at the same time, incredibly irresponsible.

there is no alternative to simply plural. none that have the features it did, the communication it did— there is no option that can completely replace it. so many systems are incredibly stressed because the only options all have fundamental flaws.

right now, the closest option would be moving to multiple apps, which just isn’t feasible for many of us— or moving off apps entirely. i am one of many who will have nowhere to move my data in the case servers shut down. im sure options like journaling or octocon will work for some of us, and that is amazing. i am nothing but happy for those who have solutions. but please consider how the rest of us feel.

we are having our biggest accessible source just… stripped from us. with no thought of finding a team, or at the very least making the app open source. i can’t even begin to imagine how much worse this is for those with hundreds or thousands of members.

the worst part is, i have no advice to give. i have nothing i can say. the only thing we can hope for is that a viable alternative will be released. until then, we have nowhere. i am incredibly sorry to anyone this has affected. systems have every right to be upset.

reminder for anyone who needs it: it's very normal to start splitting abnormally faster right after your syscovery, or for symptoms to suddenly become more prominent. the stress of syscovery usually starts a big process of splitting until you settle into it, and as for the symptoms, it's sort of like when you realize you might be autistic and subconsciously unmask. + more sudden headmates can make symptoms worse
