“I just love you. I’m not some special extra good guy. I just love you, with all of myself. I’d do anything for you.” He watched her for a few more moments before stripping down to his underwear. “But yes. I think I can agree to that. Just a little in the morning.” Moving to the bed, he pulled back the comforter and sheets for her and waited.
“And then we get… Stephanie checked on, just to be sure.” Aria smiled now as her hand ran over her belly. Stephanie was definitely the right name. Once she had finally pulled on the pajamas, she turned to look at him. She took a moment, appreciating the sight of him, before making her way over to him. “I love you too, Fix. And a part of that is because I think you are some extra special, good guy.” She lightly set a hand on his hip and pressed up to kiss him. “You are also incredibly handsome so that helps.” Aria said with a soft chuckle.
Fix wrapped his arm around her as soon as she joined him in the bed. He returned to kiss with a gentle smile. “I’d say you just want in my pants, but they’re already on the floor. So that can’t be it,” he chuckled as well. “I’ll make an appointment for us in the morning.” He pulled away to shimmy down and place a kiss on her abdomen. “I love you little girl.” He left one more kiss there. “We love you more than anything in the world.”
“Oh you know very well I always want that.” Aria laughed as her fingers moved to thread through his hair. As she watched him, she couldn’t help but smile, tears starting to well up in her eyes. They were happy tears now, however, as she watched him sweetly. “You’re going to be an amazing father.”
He pressed his cheek to her stomach and wrapped his arms around her hips. “That’s the plan. Be an amazing husband be and amazing father. You are going to be the best mom.” He closed his eyes with a quiet sigh.
“I hope so.” She chewed on her lip as she watched him. “Fix…. if I’m ever like my mother… don’t be like my father and just let it happen because you love me?” Aria was talking in a soft voice. “I know I’ll love her, but if ever… I don’t want to hurt her.”
Fix reached up to take her hand in his threading their fingers together. “I will always love you. Loving you means being your partner not a bystander. You are going to be fantastic at this. It’s going to be hard but that’s why we are partners.”
“But if I’m not fantastic… I guess just let me know, okay? Help me better.” She sighed softly as she pulled him back up to her. Instantly Aria curled against him, ready to hide in his arms.
He obliged her with eagerness, wrapping his arms tightly around her. “I will let you know, if you let me know. We help each other be the best.” He pressed a gentle kiss to her temple. “I love you. More than anything.”

He smiled softly and turned his hand to gently caress her cheek. His song came to an end and he leaned forward to tuck a kiss into her hair. “What else can I do? I want to help you feel better. I can wash your hair, rub your shoulders, anything you need.”
“Just stay here and listen.” She muttered softly as she closed her eyes. “This is all I need right now.” Aria smiled softly at him, though it was a tired smile. She took a moment before telling him everything she remembered since the man broke into the shop. She wanted to get all out now so that they could just relax.
He held her hand tight in his as he listened He managed to keep silent while she spoke despite the racing thoughts. When she finished he leaned forward and kissed her forehead. “I am so sorry, my love.”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t more careful.” She said softly as she squeezed his hand. “I’m sorry you had to be worried. I’m so sorry tha- that this happened.” Aria was shaking again, but she didn’t start crying. “There’s nothing that either of us could have really done though, right? There’s no sense in… no sense in being sorry.”
“This is not your fault.” He squeezed her hand in return and smiled for her. “I’ll get you a towel. We can get you in pj’s and into bed.” He kissed the top of her head and stood to grab a towel.
Aria started to drain the top before stepping out and drying off. She wrapped the towel around herself, her fingers once more tracing over bruises. “It’s not your fault either. You know that, right?” She asked softly as she moved to press a kiss lightly to his cheek.
He wrapped his arms around her, pressing her tight against his chest. “I didn’t protect you. That bit is my fault.” He hid his face against her hair.”That’s all I want to do, protect you both. I promise, I swear, to be better.”
“So are you going to sit in on all of our girls’ nights from now on?” She raised an eyebrow, but relaxed quickly. Aria lightly rubbed his back, hoping to comfort him a little. “We’ll both be better, alright? I’ll be more careful, even when I’m just… just at the shop.”
“If that’s what it takes and you wouldn’t kick my ass for doing it. Yeah I’d sit in the corner at ever girl’s night I’ll set up insane security systems at the house and the shop. I can’t lose you” He took her face in his hands tears welling up in his eyes. Fix had managed to keep his composure until now. His walls threatened to break apart. “I cannot lose you.”
“Hey, you’re not going to lose me. You’re not going to lose us.” She reached up to hold his face in her hands, ready to wipe away his tears. “We are meant to be together, I have no doubt about that. I will always find my way back to you.”
“Don’t ever disappear again.” He sniffled back the tears and held fast to her. “Just… I can’t handle another scare like that.” He kissed the top of her forehead and remained there.
“I promise I won’t.” She muttered, trying not to think of what would happen if that promise was broken. “You don’t have to hold them back.” Her voice was soft as she continued to caress his cheek for a moment. “Come on.” Aria sighed and led him to their room.
“I do right now.” He followed her silently until they were about halfway up the stairs. “I’ll give them to you when I know you’re solid on both feet. Right now… I just want to be here for you, so you don’t have to worry over me for a bit.” He squeezed her hand. “But I promise, I’ll let you hold me up eventually.”
“You’re such a good guy.” She muttered softly as she stayed close to him. “How did I get so lucky?” Aria asked in a serious tone. Once they reached the room, she let out a sigh and pulled away from him so she could find clothes to change into. “How about… for tonight we sleep and then in the morning… in the morning you can let me worry a little, okay? Just a little?”
“I just love you. I’m not some special extra good guy. I just love you, with all of myself. His heart broke once more. Without words, he scooped his wife up in his arms and carried her to the bathroom. He press her tighter to his chest as she continued to sob. Once he reached their destination, he sat her carefully on the counter, keeping her tucked to his chest. “Let it all out,” he whispered. “You’re home. You’re safe. And you don’t have to be strong right now.” He picked up a hair brush and gently began to comb her hair as her tears continued to soak his shirt.
When she finally could speak again, her voice was weak. “H-he held a knife to my stomach, Cannon. He threatened our baby.” Aria lightly gripped his shirt as she pulled back to look at him. She looked exhausted, but there was a hint of anger in her eyes as well. “If I ever see him again…” The anger passed as the exhaustion won over. She let out a heavy sigh and reached up to lightly touch his face. “I think we could both do with some rest.”
“We do. And if we ever see him, it will be the last time.” He kissed her forehead and set the brush down. “We’re getting you that bath first though.” He gently peeled her top off over her head.
“Yeah, of course.” Once her shirt was off she lightly touched his shoulders. She pressed a gentle kiss to his lips before pulling away to smile at him. “You get the water running, I can get the rest.” Aria shifted to move off the counter so she could remove the rest of her clothes and get ready for the bath.
“Okay.” He smiled softly at her. Fix watched her for a moment before moving to the bathtub. He started the water, testing its warmth continually until it reached the proper level. “My darling wife, your bath is ready.”
She tested the water with her hand before moving to sink into the water. Aria stared at the bruises on her arms from being grabbed roughly and forced around. “Thank you, Fix.” She closed her eyes s she took a moment, trying to bring herself to relax.
Fix knelt beside the tub to run his fingers through her hair. He began to softly sing to her. His voice cracked around a few of the words, from lack of use. The words were from an old memory, a song his mother used to sing to him.
Aria opened her eyes and shifted in the tub so she could lean on the edge near him. She listened to him quietly, watching with admiration in her eyes. As he sang, she lightly took his hand in hers and pressed a kiss to the back of it.
He smiled softly and turned his hand to gently caress her cheek. His song came to an end and he leaned forward to tuck a kiss into her hair. “What else can I do? I want to help you feel better. I can wash your hair, rub your shoulders, anything you need.”

Reunion
