“Yeah, tell me about it. Living up to names is one of the worst things about being me. I should’ve gone into a different field, like you did. No worrying about living up to anything since your dad isn’t a firefighter. Oh you’d run away with me, huh? I’ll have to keep that in mind them. Okay, deal, you pay this time, I pay next.”

“Hold up.. did you really just ask me that?” Carter asked as he wanted to make sure he heard it right. “You want me to move in with you?” He said, a smile on his face.

“Yeah, I didn’t really want to go into that field myself.. Too much pressure on it, and besides I think I found my calling you know?”

“No, the best way to see me is to come to my apartment.” 

“I don’t want to get revenge on my interns though. I want to be treated as a competent doctor who went through med school, instead of as someone who got lucky to have parents who own the hospital she’s doing her residency at. Yep, just this time. Next time is on me.”

“Guess that is the best way, and perhaps the way I’ll go about it”

“I get you, you’re too Good.. you know that? Names huh? Gotta live up to them. You know, if you decided to run away tomorrow to go somewhere you’re not known that well? I’ll follow you. Next time it’s on you”

“You better be. Hey now, don’t do anything stupid on purpose okay? I don’t want to see you ending up in my work place because you got hurt.”

“Hard to do that when they won’t let me do anything. But you’re right. I’ll be the queen of scut and show them that they can’t bring me down. I missed you too, handsome. You’re buying? I guess I’ll let you do that. This time at least.”

“Be the Queen of the scut and show them how amazing you can do all the bad jobs, so when you get to boss interns around you’ll get your revenge sorta. Oh.. Just this time? Thanks babe”

“I ran into a burning building today. You should have felt the heat.. I mean, it was thrilling and I had so much adrenaline pumping through my veins. Doing it in training is nothing like the real thing, you know? But let’s not talk about just me.. how was your day?”

“I wouldn’t know, but I could imagine it’s a lot different when there’s actual lives at stake. I’m glad you had a good first day. Just make sure you’re careful, okay? I don’t need you going and getting that pretty face hurt. My day? It was as unexciting as ever. I was put on scut for the day because my resident hates me and wants to ‘make sure I don’t get favored because of my parents,’ according to them. But whatever. You wanna grab dinner with me? I’m starving.”

“You just gotta fight that little bit harder, show them what a force of nature you are and how incredible you are. Yes, I will definitely have dinner with you, I missed you beautiful. Also I’m buying”

“Oh man she is.. Was making sure I did my homework too, but I’ll appreciate her hard work a lot later in my life time. I got a job now too, and hopefully a career”

“Exactly. And the teacher is the one who sat me right next to my best friend. I shouldn’t be blamed for that dumb decision.”

“What do you do for work?”

“I’m glad you asked.. Today was my first day on as a fire fighter.. Well a candidate, but it’s a first step. I mean, I got this. I’m going to listen to those teaching me and I’m gonna become the best”

“Nope me neither.. I pull good grades, but have you seen my mom? She was on that school stuff”

“It happens occasionally.”

“I get decent grades. I’m not failing, at least. Yeah, your mom seems like that type so I can understand that.”

“one of my teachers got upset today because a friend and i were talking while she was teaching. when she told us we were interrupting her lesson, i told her she was interrupting our conversation. and that’s how i ended up in detention.”
