Thanks for all the good times guys, but I’m finally putting this blog on a hiatus. Likely a permanent one. It was a good run, but there’s ended up being too much bad blood between myself, certain people, and the MM fandom in general, and I’m tired of pretending everything is okay. I’m tired of being ignored. Those who actually talk to me know where they can find me. And those who don’t…well, if you really look, and give a damn, maybe you’ll find me. I’m tired of my trying never being good enough, and my presence not only being taken for granted, but shat on, too.

Another new person? This one was human, though, and X knew what happened normally when humans entered here. He winced, then made his way over to the obviously classy female. “U..Um… Excuse m..me…”

It was intriguing, the sort of places that the rifts could lead to. And she could understand why Rock liked exploring them. More and more, it was tempting to simply...not return. But if she did that, she’d be quite the hypocrite. And someone had to keep an eye out for all three of the Lights still there...

The new voice had her putting on a polite little smile and turning to meet the owner of the voice. “Hello there. I do hope I’m not intruding.”

Hmm, okay, probably best to approach this calmly. This universe was still fairly new to the sniper, but it couldn’t hurt to try to talk to someone, could it? At worst they’d probably try to run away. Nothing new there.

There’s a synthesized clearing of the throat. “Awkwardly: Excuse me,” that was polite wasn’t it? Well, Jack was about 68% sure it was, based on the tone if nothing else. 

Okay. That was new. Maeve paused her rubbing, looking oddly at the...sniper?. Wait. Snipers didn’t behave like that. At all. Great. Had someone grabbed one and reprogrammed it somehow? Just one more headache, and all she wanted was her own damn bed.

“Can I help you?” Best to remain polite and sound sweet and not at all the annoyed woman she was at that moment.

“B-but it’s not much clothing and -” Stop. He was going to stop, and breathe, and…. drop his head into hid hands again for a while. “Oh god I am so sorry, miss. I swear I’m not normally this. Uh. Awkward? At least I… don’t think I am, or… or…. probably not, anyway?”

“Many swimsuits are far less.” She pat his shoulder. “I should get some more clothing shortly, though, if only so I don’t have to deal with those who aren’t near as...chivalrous as you.” She hated that word. It was just...so outdated. But it sounded better than ‘those who are more likely to attempt things that I’d have to stab them for’.

“Who?” She looked curious, shifting to lean against him. “Perhaps there’s a way to fix that unreachable status.”

A tremble, as the communicator shook in his hand.

.......There was silence on Maeve’s side, and then a deep breath.

“Is there anything I can do to stop it?”

Her voice wavered a bit.

He nods, rocking on his heels a bit. “Thanks Maeve~ I’m just…” really really curious about all the things he’d yet to see. He didn’t get to explore nearly enough with Light. “A little lost about what to do with all my energy.”

“That’s alright, puppy. This will be a good way to get some of that energy out.” She reached up to ruffle his hair, small smile on her lips. “And I think I know of a place or two you might like there.”

“I’m so sorry,” Rock all but squawked, forcing himself to make eye contact now even if it meant his face stayed bright red for the next few minutes. Hopefully it wouldn’t make him overheat or anything. “Really, I’m - er - it’s just - I haven’t uh, seen many pretty ladies in - in that kind of clothing I - er… ohgodI’lljustshutupnowthiskeepsgettingworse.”

Maeve was far, far too amused. And it crept onto her face. “Calm down, before you overheat.” She reached out to pat his shoulder. “It’s just another piece of clothing, that’s all it is. Pretty, but clothing.”

“Maybe we should make you a cyborg.” Wouldn’t be that hard with all the tech they had.

“I was thinking of starting there, yes.” She made a small frustrated noise. “The problem, dear ialtog, is finding someone who can make those changes without trying to...to make me subservient or any of that idiocy.” She belonged to herself and her people, that was IT.

Where in the world (well, multiverse) had he gotten himself now? The Light-bot frowns as he strolls, optics taking in his surroundings. This didn’t look much like anywhere he’d been before… 

Lord he must have looked so lost right now.

The area was, thankfully for Rock, not on a main road, but a more minor one. It was lush in a temperate valley sort of way, with a wide, deep river in sight, and a thick temperate forest nearby. And sprawling on both sides of the river, with bridges across, was a large city that, for lack of better terms, looked rather...well, steampunk. Old and new, steel and wood and stone with vehicles and mounts of varying sorts coming and going on the roads that fed into it, and boats and aerial ships of some sort docking.

“You’re in the wrong time.” The voice came from behind him, from a white-haired woman dressed in silks, leather, and fur leaning against an ebony staff taller than her. And aside from the white hair, she looked and sounded a very great deal like one Maeve Fujiwara. “Or the wrong dimension. I would suspect time, however.”

If Rock had a tail it’d be wagging. As quick as Maeve was, it still felt like it took her forever to get ready, and the hyperactive fluff ball was just happy to see her at all. “Wellll, I know we can’t poke around where Brody works too much, so I was thinkin’ maybe we could go look at the older side of town?”

“Alright. We can go over that way.” She’d have to keep a careful eye on him while they were there, but she could arrange for them to be unaccosted, easily.

…There was something about this particular lady that caught the sniper’s eye. Perhaps that she carried herself so gracefully, or maybe it was her manner of dress. 

Couldn’t be a regular civilian, but the sniper had yet to spot the uniformed loyalists of their old world. Maybe something could be learned? Curious, the sniper started to inch their way after her. 

Maeve was exhausted, but she wouldn’t let that show. She was just glad to be on her way to her own damned apartment, and her own bed, and maybe she could con cuddles out of certain people. Not that she’d admit to wanting them except to them. She didn’t miss that she was being followed, however. After a point, she leaned against a wall, making all the movements of a woman just pausing to rub sore calves.

She was more than ready to pull a knife, however.
