I remember taking this photo. Grandma switch her shirt and I was instructed not to include the legs. They sat next to each other and looked at me. I remember thinking they looked very serious next to each other. More serious than I'm sure they meant to be. That wasn't going to work at all and heck if they were going to complain after the photo was developed. So I thought, why don't they hold hands? Grandpa said what? And my sister repeated in chinese, She said you should hold hands. And we all start laughing. They started to loop their arms together; my sisters jumped in and styled their hands in better positions. We all just laughed and chatted. I took the photo and I was like, What about a kiss?? I got a firm no and serious shake of a head from my grandparents. And that's how I learned they were old school and never to ask them to do that. These two. That hair. Those glasses. The toothy and toothless smile.
